50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNJoe and I are attached at the hip. We do a lot of things together, even colonoscopies. Lol! Yep, he had his done on Friday. I was afraid his prep and procedure would be equivalent to a “man cold.” You gurls know exactly what I mean, we somehow managed to still do our normal routines when we have a cold but our men “can” turn into a 4-year old when they are sick. Hahaha!50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNI was SHOCKED at how well he did. He didn’t complain, didn’t fuss, and didn’t whine. WHAT! Did the aliens come to town and replace my husband with a Stepford Husband? In all honesty, we both have no complaints. Doctor J N is top notch and our local hospital is great. We have used them for several surgical procedures including when I had my gallbladder removed several years ago. The reason I mention this is because when you live in a small town it is rare to have such great medical personnel and facilities. I do believe in supporting your local establishments when possible. 50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNI know you all have the snow leopard print cardigan on your radar. This is a nice sweater that I got from Cato Fashions. When I wore this last week I was confused when one of the girls at work wanted to know if it was a vest or a sweater. I must have looked confused so she came over and pulled at the sleeve and then said, “Okay, it is all one piece.”That is when I noticed that the sleeves were a different color than the rest of the cardigan. I hadn’t even noticed before because I was so focused on the pattern. It was just coincidence that I wore a black t-shirt beneath the cardigan. Lol! This cardigan is already gone from Cato’s website so I have searched for other alternatives for you.

50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNThe Nika earrings are as big and bold as the cardigan. I do sometimes wear small dainty stud earrings but I also believe in wearing big and bold. I don’t want to ONLY do one or the other. I admit that this pair is not for the faint of heart but they are so light that you can’t even feel them while you are wearing them. I love that!!! Plus, these will draw people’s eyes to your pretty face and that is a good thing. I am also wearing the Wanda elastic bracelet today. The little silver dangles move but they don’t make noise, I have had people ask me that before so I wanted to let you know. The Colleen necklace is a great necklace to give as a present. It is personalized and anything monogrammed or initialized is really popular. That way the recipient knows that the gift was for them and not something you re-gifted. Lol!!! 50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNEvery time I wear these bootcut Vigoss jeans you gurls seem to love them. I don’t know if it is the bootcut leg, the darker color of the denim, or the bright white stitching that stands out so nice that you like. If you are like me, then it is a combination of all three of those things. I noticed that Maurice’s is having a buy one get one for 50% off sale on Vigoss so be sure to check it out. All of the jeans that I am linking to are from Maurice’s.

50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNNow, let’s talk about these shoes. These are Chanel. Yes, they are really a Chanel pair of shoes. I know that most of you are thinking, “wait a minute, you are all about looking the best you can for the best price possible.” Chanel is EXPENSIVE!!! In my defense, this was the best possible price that I could get, they were FREE! Lol! I got these by default because they were a present to a friend of my sisters. She couldn’t wear them so she gave them to my sister who couldn’t wear them either. Thankfully, neither one of them bothered to check eBay or I would not have gotten these. Lol!

  1. Thanks for having a giveaway!! One of my favorite Christmas memories was watching our 5 year old grandson coming into the room where Santa had left presents. Just seeing the sheer joy and that magical moment in his excitement and belief was awesome! Love seeing Christmas thru the eyes of a child!

  2. Love your posts. One of my favorite Christmas memories is creating a huge dining table by adding several folding tables so everyone can sit together. We often had additional guests such as foreign exchange students who could not travel with their host families or elderly guests with no family nearby. One year we even had a stranded trucker.

  3. Favorite memory is Christmas morning. We had to wait until dad turned on the tree lights and then we could go out to the living room. The combination of the anticipation and beauty of the tree made our Christmases very special.

  4. You look great Tania and the cardigan print is gorgeous. I grew up a small town girl so I can relate to this. My favorite childhood Christmas memory was when my older brother and I stayed up and watched Santa and Mrs. Clause bring our bicycles into the house….actually rolled them in. We couldn’t go to sleep for all the excitement. We are in our 50’s now and still talk about that day. ~Lisa~

Oops, I forgot to leave a comment. 1) I got the lash boost special and I can’t wait for my long eyelashes!! and I don’t know if I told you that I want the extra discount instead of the essential products. I have my Rodan & Fields “want list” lined up in order of importance to me and the next thing is to get rid of dark circles under my eyes. I know that I should have picked that over the long lashes, but girls will be girls. LOL 2) My favorite Christmas memory is when I was about 4 or 5 years old and we kids were sleeping on a pull out sofa in the den because my grandparent were staying with us. The Christmas tree was in the den and I woke up on Christmas Eve night and I saw my daddy putting our presents under the tree. I was so happy that my daddy was Santa!

  6. I have many good memories of Christmas past, but I have special memories of having Christmas at my granny’s house. Aunts, uncles, and cousins would come for the day. There would be fun, laughter and lot of memories made in that little country house. Granny made an old fashion cake called an Apple Stack cake. It had 8-10 very thin layers baked individually in an iron skillet, an apple filling between each layer and then covered completely with filling. Since you are from the south, you may know what I am talking about. Wonderful memories!

Your blog is great; fashionable yet down to earth. I am blessed to have so many wonderful Christmas memories from my childhood. My Dad and uncle were bakers and pulled out all the stops for Christmas. So I would have to say the extra special Christmas baking is my fav childhood Christmas memory. I try my best to bake at Christmas, too.

  8. Driving around town looking at Christmas lights following Christmas Eve Communion at church.

  9. After opening all my Christmas gifts and putting something new on. Mom, Dad and I visited all my Aunts, Uncles and cousins homes to see what everyone received. Then we would visit my Grandparents to see them. Everyone lived close and everyone visited back in those days. I have wonderful Christmas memories.

  10. Fav memories….going Christmas day to my grandparents’ house where there was always a beautiful flocked tree (in white, pink, or blue:) and a big crystal punch bowl on the dining table full of eggnog for neighbors & guests who would stop by.
