50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNJoe and I are attached at the hip. We do a lot of things together, even colonoscopies. Lol! Yep, he had his done on Friday. I was afraid his prep and procedure would be equivalent to a “man cold.” You gurls know exactly what I mean, we somehow managed to still do our normal routines when we have a cold but our men “can” turn into a 4-year old when they are sick. Hahaha!50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNI was SHOCKED at how well he did. He didn’t complain, didn’t fuss, and didn’t whine. WHAT! Did the aliens come to town and replace my husband with a Stepford Husband? In all honesty, we both have no complaints. Doctor J N is top notch and our local hospital is great. We have used them for several surgical procedures including when I had my gallbladder removed several years ago. The reason I mention this is because when you live in a small town it is rare to have such great medical personnel and facilities. I do believe in supporting your local establishments when possible. 50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNI know you all have the snow leopard print cardigan on your radar. This is a nice sweater that I got from Cato Fashions. When I wore this last week I was confused when one of the girls at work wanted to know if it was a vest or a sweater. I must have looked confused so she came over and pulled at the sleeve and then said, “Okay, it is all one piece.”That is when I noticed that the sleeves were a different color than the rest of the cardigan. I hadn’t even noticed before because I was so focused on the pattern. It was just coincidence that I wore a black t-shirt beneath the cardigan. Lol! This cardigan is already gone from Cato’s website so I have searched for other alternatives for you.

50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNThe Nika earrings are as big and bold as the cardigan. I do sometimes wear small dainty stud earrings but I also believe in wearing big and bold. I don’t want to ONLY do one or the other. I admit that this pair is not for the faint of heart but they are so light that you can’t even feel them while you are wearing them. I love that!!! Plus, these will draw people’s eyes to your pretty face and that is a good thing. I am also wearing the Wanda elastic bracelet today. The little silver dangles move but they don’t make noise, I have had people ask me that before so I wanted to let you know. The Colleen necklace is a great necklace to give as a present. It is personalized and anything monogrammed or initialized is really popular. That way the recipient knows that the gift was for them and not something you re-gifted. Lol!!! 50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNEvery time I wear these bootcut Vigoss jeans you gurls seem to love them. I don’t know if it is the bootcut leg, the darker color of the denim, or the bright white stitching that stands out so nice that you like. If you are like me, then it is a combination of all three of those things. I noticed that Maurice’s is having a buy one get one for 50% off sale on Vigoss so be sure to check it out. All of the jeans that I am linking to are from Maurice’s.

50 IS NOT OLD | LIVING IN A SMALL TOWNNow, let’s talk about these shoes. These are Chanel. Yes, they are really a Chanel pair of shoes. I know that most of you are thinking, “wait a minute, you are all about looking the best you can for the best price possible.” Chanel is EXPENSIVE!!! In my defense, this was the best possible price that I could get, they were FREE! Lol! I got these by default because they were a present to a friend of my sisters. She couldn’t wear them so she gave them to my sister who couldn’t wear them either. Thankfully, neither one of them bothered to check eBay or I would not have gotten these. Lol!

  1. All 7 of us piled in the station wagon driving to my grandparents farm while singing Christmas carols. ❤️

  2. One of my favorite childhood Christmas memories is when a family friend would dress up as Santa every year and visit us on Christmas Eve, and give us one gift each before we were sent off to bed. Of course I didn’t know it was the friend – until we were older. We’d hear his jingle bells in the middle of the night too, as he and my Dad would sit up sipping ‘stuff’ until the wee hours as my parents finished wrapping and assembling gifts for us 6 kids throughout the night. When we awoke on Christmas morn’, we got to open ALL of our gifts.

  3. One year I received an easy bake oven!
One if the first things I made was a birthday cake for my dad, his birthday was Jan 2. I remember being so excited to bake this cake specially for him. I have a photo of him blowing out the candle & me sitting next to him with a HUGE ear to ear grin. He was my hero even though he’s gone now to be with our Lord. I’ll never forget how kind & loving a man he always was.

Best Christmas memory: 11 o’clock candlelight Christmas Eve worship with special music, including our tenor who would turn bright red when he hit the high note on “Oh Holy Night,” making us fear for his health! Sitting with my family was the best,

  5. My favorite childhood memory about Christmas was when I was able to lay under our tree in the living room and look up through the branches to see the lights and ornaments. I felt like I was part of the tree, not just an observer, more like a small traveler gazing at the branches. I could see the lights twinkling and the family ornaments that held their own little stories of coming into being. I was all of nine years old at the time and now I am a grandmother and can still remember this special Christmas memory.

  6. One of my Favorite Christmas memories is singing Silent Night by candlelight at the end of our Christmas Eve church service. I also loved our Pollyanna tradition. Around Thanksgiving we would pick a name out of a hat and have to buy that person (our polllyanna) a gift. We couldn’t wait to see who had our name when we went to Grandma and Grandoa’s house to open our gifts on Christmas Day! Btw, I love your sweater!

  7. I remember the year I received my first Dolly Parton record. I was so excited to get it, I even got my price taken with it. I still love Dolly to this day. Thank you for the chance to win.

Love the outfit and it looks great on you!
My fondest Christmas memories are watching Christmas shows on TV at night with just the tree lights on. Also, thinking for years that all the presents were from Santa. I was one of ten kids and my dad passed when I was not quite 4. I was the 8th child. My older brothers and sisters are the ones who bought the presents for us three little kids. They made Christmas so special for us. They have passed too. We were poor, but so rich in love. Church was a big part of our Christmas and lots of good food.

  9. The little cedar tree that we would stand up in a coffee can in the corner of the living room a few days before Christmas. When we put decorations on it, the limbs would almost go all the way down to the floor.

  10. Tania another great look! I’m especially jealous of the Chanel shoes! My favorite Christmas memories involved myself, my 3 siblings and my parents. We would pile into the car on Christmas Eve and ride into town to Candy Cane Lane and see all the houses lit up so brightly!! Sometimes they would offer candy to the kids! Then on the ride home we would tell stories and talk about what Santa was to bring to each of us!! We were quite young so it was just a great time with the family together then it was close to bedtime when we returned home as we waited on Santa. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Carla
