LIVING IN A SMALL TOWN
Joe and I are attached at the hip. We do a lot of things together, even colonoscopies. Lol! Yep, he had his done on Friday. I was afraid his prep and procedure would be equivalent to a “man cold.” You gurls know exactly what I mean, we somehow managed to still do our normal routines when we have a cold but our men “can” turn into a 4-year old when they are sick. Hahaha!
I was SHOCKED at how well he did. He didn’t complain, didn’t fuss, and didn’t whine. WHAT! Did the aliens come to town and replace my husband with a Stepford Husband? In all honesty, we both have no complaints. Doctor J N is top notch and our local hospital is great. We have used them for several surgical procedures including when I had my gallbladder removed several years ago. The reason I mention this is because when you live in a small town it is rare to have such great medical personnel and facilities. I do believe in supporting your local establishments when possible.
I know you all have the snow leopard print cardigan on your radar. This is a nice sweater that I got from Cato Fashions. When I wore this last week I was confused when one of the girls at work wanted to know if it was a vest or a sweater. I must have looked confused so she came over and pulled at the sleeve and then said, “Okay, it is all one piece.”That is when I noticed that the sleeves were a different color than the rest of the cardigan. I hadn’t even noticed before because I was so focused on the pattern. It was just coincidence that I wore a black t-shirt beneath the cardigan. Lol! This cardigan is already gone from Cato’s website so I have searched for other alternatives for you.

Also, for those who have trusted me and made purchases from Plunder jewelry and Rodan + Fields, I want to give you extra special thanks. You had to “trust” someone who you have never met. Thank you! I hope that you are happy with the products and brands that I have associated myself with. Since all of you have been so loyal and trusting I want to host a GIVEAWAY! This is just because……… Comment below what is your favorite childhood memory from Christmas and you will be entered into a drawing for a 25.00 gift certificate from Amazon. The winner will be announced next Friday.
Signing up for my emails would make a great Christmas present to me. This time of the year is when people go shopping, have a family get together, go to parties, etc., in other words, you quit reading blogs as much. My heart drops when I see my reader numbers go down. (Insert crying music here) So, do me a favor and read me daily and be sure to tell all your friends about this crazy blogger that you follow.I am really trying to gain readership and subscribers.
When I hit 10,000 subscribers then I am going to have a huge celebration with lots of giveaways. Tell your neighbor, your friends, or even your enemies. Lol! Let’s get this ball rolling. To subscribe you simply enter your email address in the box in the upper right corner of the blog. Let me know if you have any problems.
Please be aware that links to vendors may be affiliate links. I do profit from your purchases through the links on the blog.
One of my favorite Christmas memories actually took place the day after Christmas. Every year my three siblings and I each got a new board game. On December 26th our dad would get down on the living room floor and play each of our games with us, Ahhh…good tines
Love your blog and style. I have this same sweater from Cato. Would love to hear how your blogging experience start up happened. Any advice for anyone thinking of jumping in the “over 50 pool”?
Love your blog Tania! You seem like such a sweetheart and I feel like we would be good girlfriends if only we lived closer. My best childhood memory of Christmas is when my grandparents, who lived an hour away, would come on down to our house on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. That’s when it officially felt like Christmas. They’d pull up and I’d be waiting outside for them, I was that excited! Then I’d help them unload all the packages and their bags because it was the only time of year they spent the night at our house to be with my brother and me, the first grandson and granddaughter for them. We’d have a nice visit and then a big ham dinner and then we’d head to the candlelight service at our little country church. We’d wake up Christmas morning to a ham and egg breakfast and then off to open gifts under the tree. So my favorite childhood memory is of being with family, especially my grandparents who are now spending Christmas with Jesus.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Dawn, you are so right that family occupies most of our Christmas memories. I remember waiting beside the road for my granny to get off of work so that I could spend the night with her.
Exchanging names between 7 sibs & parents- this gift had to be handmade. These were exchanged on Christmas Eve after church. Morning was for the Santa gifts. And we had snacks for dinner( we always ate meat & potatoes every other night).
Dear Tania, Thank you for all the inspiration and helpful tips and fun stories! Merry Christmas!!!!
