LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS
I have had a wild and crazy month. I have been traveling way more than usual and then November is the month that I organize a craft fair. I am so nutty that I have been going through my emails making sure I have replied to everyone. The problem is that I reply on different items, laptop, desktop, and cell phone, so I don’t have all my emails in one spot only.
Because I have the memory of a gnat, I replied to one reader today only to have her email me back that she appreciated my reply but I had already replied to her once. Lol! I guess I would rather reply twice as not to reply at all. The craft fair was this weekend so maybe I can get back to normal now. Oh wait, Thanksgiving is coming up and Christmas shopping is something I need to start doing, so don’t count on it. Just smile to yourself if you happen to receive two email and think, “she’s a little scatterbrained but she means well.” Haha!
Here I am in mostly gray. I like gray as long as it is not in my hair. My gray hair isn’t that “pretty” gray that some women are blessed with, it is more that yucky half blonde half gray look. It just looks dirty instead of pretty and white. The gray in this LOGO top is not exactly the same color in my leggings but it still “goes” with the look. The top has a v-neck, which I love, and pockets. I will always choose a v-neck if possible because it elongates my neck. I don’t want to look like a giraffe but I don’t want my neck looking all squatty either.
Don’t you just love this necklace? This was sent to me by Julie from Kay & Star. She was so sweet she actually sent me this plus some Halloween necklaces for me and my two BFF’s. Their jewelry is so pretty and more importantly, it is great quality. I have received several pieces from them and I have NEVER had any problems with anything.
What do you think about these leggings? Would you have purchased these if you had seen them in the store? These remind me of those ink splotch pictures you see where you have to guess what they are showing you. Lol! I have been on a legging kick recently and I think it is going to get even worse. Someone asked me if leggings had replaced hosiery and that is about true. No one wears hose anymore, you will either wear tights, leggings or just go bare legged. I bought these at a pop-up boutique party that one of my friends was having. These sold for 10.00, which I thought was a good deal till I went to the craft fair this weekend. There was a vendor set up selling leggings for $5.00 a pair! Let’s just say that I came home with a bag FULL! Everyone needs to remember that leggings are not pants. Please wear leggings like you would hose, uder dresses and tunics with your hiney covered. If I don’t wear them with an outfit I will wear them to sleep in. I know I what I said about bedroom attire, but come on gurls, it is cold in the winter.
My mother asked me the other day about a pair of boots I was wearing. She thought they looked like they were different heights so here is a picture of these two together to show her they are the same. Haha
See what she means, with my leg bent forward the boots look like they are different. I love these boots c/o White Mountain Shoes. They are called the Bethesda and come in this stone color. They are super soft and the half zipper on the inner lower part of the boot make them easy to pull on. I have one pair of boots that I love but hardly ever wear because they are so hard to get on. I now look for zippers in my boots. Lol!
I chose my ivory/winter white satchel to carry with this outfit. I wanted the only color to be from the leggings and I didn’t want to have a purse that competed for attention. This purse is one I love because of the color and the style, but it is a no-name purse so I can’t link to it, sorry. These are the best I could do.http://rstyle.me/n/b6nd6sb6xt7

Oh this is one of my favorite outfits you’ve done! So fun and fresh. I agree for our age leggings are not pants, but women my daughters’ ages obviously disagree Mixed results! Some young ladies make it work, others-not so much ?
Tania, ya really got it goin on in this cute ensemble! ?
I would so wear this super cute outfit. I read that a print legging is more forgiving than a plain color…not that you need any forgiveness bc you have great legs, but some of us aren’t so blessed. My legs aren’t huge, but they have seen firmer days 😉
Accessorized perfectly!
Love love this look. I love my leggings. We can wear them with dresses at work so love it! You are fabulous as always Tania!
What would you recommend for people with heavier legs? Are leggings still an option?
LOVE your look today!!
This is a new favorite outfit, looks great!
Tania, could you explain what ‘jeggings’ are? I am 68 yrs. old, and want a comtemporary look, but feel almost silly in long tops with leggings…..I feel OK with dresses and skirts with tights (or leggings, I guess), but I am not sure that the ‘big long top with leggings’ is one for us upper 60’s gals…..And I haven’t a clue as to what ‘jeggings’ are….My grandmother had a phrase, “Mutton gotten up as lamb” that seems to ring loudly inside my head, and I am very wary of that! Love your daily posts!
Suzanne, jeggings are a cross between jeans and leggings. So, denim (or denim-looking) leggings.
This is a lovely look on you and you are spot on about flattering affect of a v-neck. You are also right on the money about leggings not being pants. There is little less flattering than leggings that are close to ones skin color that are worn with a regular top rather than a tunic. At a glance, a person might look like they had forgotten to wear pants, LOL.

Love this outfit! I don’t wear leggings unless I have a shirt that covers my (can I say crotch?:) So usually I wear them with dresses. Most of my shirts in my wardrobe are not long enough. I do love this look on you though. My girlfriends and I were just having this discussion about leggings this weekend, how they are not meant to replace pants!! Love the blog (and your hair – fabulous 🙂
Super cute! Love it all, especially the necklasce. I’d probably buy the leggings, depending on my mood while I was shopping…then wear them all the time & wonder how I lived without them! Ha!
Funny, because we are wearing leggings on my blog today too!
Although I am wearing my pair more like pants, because they have pockets and are thicker—kinda like skinny jeans! Tell me if you think it’s inappropriate??
