KNOCK, AND IT WILL OPENED TO YOU

We have all had unanswered prayers. They are so hard to accept and I find myself wondering, why. Why didn’t the Lord want to bless me or my plans? Did He not trust me, did He not love me? Why would He close the door on something I loved or wanted so badly?

When a new company buys out an old company everyone who worked for the old company starts to get nervous. Normally, the new company will bring in “their” people to run the company and over time the old employees are let go. The same holds true with political elections. Just think about the Presidential election and how all the employees who had been part of the previous administration are replaced with new people.

Even on the local level, probably not to the same degree, this holds true. Years ago in a local sheriff election, the longtime incumbent was defeated and a brand new sheriff was elected. Joe loves watching politics and knows all the people involved so we rode downtown just after the results were announced to see what everyone was saying. We came upon some of the employees from the newly defeated sheriff’s office and they were so upset and worried about their jobs. Some of them did lose their jobs, I don’t know if it was their decision or the new sheriffs. I am sure they thought their world was coming to an end. I am sure they asked why. I am not sure what they thought, but here is what I “now” know. One of them went from being a deputy to now being the head person over a regional jail. His “closed” door turned into something so much bigger and better.

We don’t know what the Lord has in store for us. We have tunnel vision or blinders on and we can only see the path that we are on. It must be the only path because that is all we can see. But the Lord sees all. He knows that there is a different path that we can take that will be better than the one we are on. A roadblock or a detour is His was of getting us on the “right” path. That does not mean that it will not be scary and it does not mean that it will not be painful. But the Lord hears us when we call out in pain, Matthew 7:7“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” He promises to never forsake us, Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” He can give you your hearts desires, Psalms 37:4 Delight yourself also in the LordAnd He shall give you the desires of your heart”, and He who has started these works in you will not stop until they are finished, Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

So remember that when the Lord says, “NO” you need to say “Thank You.” HE knows better than you!

Have A Blessed Day!!!
