50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMERSummer is here finally in full force. We went through a small cool spurt last week but it looks like most of the cool weather is behind us now. I am finding that I love writing my blog while I am out sitting on my patio. I love listening to the birds chirping, I don’t mind hearing the cars driving past on the road, and I love feeling the sun beating down on me. What I don’t love is when the train decides to go past. I live within 100 foot of the railroad track so to say it is loud would be an understatement. I run into the house when that happens. Lol50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMERWe just bought a new fire pit for the patio and I am officially in love!!! I love a fire! I try to keep a fire going in the winter in the fireplace and in the summer I liked one in the firepit on the patio. The problem was that I smelled like smoke. My hair, because of it coarse nature, would grab the smoke smell and refuse to let go of it. It would take about three shampoos before the smell was gone. I ordered in a propane fire pit and had it put together last Monday. I have sat outside every night since then, even one night when I had to have a jacket on. Haha! No More Smoke Smell!!! I don’t know how long this tank of propane will last but I don’t care, I LOVE my firepit!

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMERIf you are wondering how to keep cool in the summer, this top is the answer. The off the shoulder style is cool, cute, and just a tad on the sexy side. I just bought this really cute off the shoulder top the other day at Cato Fashions. Of course, it doesn’t exist on their website any longer. I just don’t understand how fast they take things off the website since I JUST bought it. Anyway, I am a sucker for pale pink and this top jumped off the racks and into my hands. The elastic around the shoulders was really comfortable and helped the top to stay put and in place. All off the shoulder tops will move when you raise your arms but this one stayed in place reasonably well.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMER I had to choose my new Flamingo Pendant to wear with this top. I bought the pendant and added it to my Tabitha necklace which can be worn long or short like this. The Flamingo Pendant has a picture of the flamingo on one side and a saying on the other side that says, “Be a Flamingo in a flock of Pigeons.” Lol! You can’t see my earrings very well but they are the Salmon Round Earrings, very lightweight and made of a very thin metal. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMER I have on the Valerie pearl dangle bracelet on the left and a trio of bling bracelets on the right. The Broedrick, the Ezra, and the Kayson in order from top to bottom. The Valerie is stretchy and the bling bracelets are magnetic. I love my Plunder jewelry, I have been hooked for over a year and I don’t see any reason that will change. If you are interested in purchasing anything, please make sure you are shopping in my party. The one I have open at this time is tania12. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMER These pants came from Cato too but it was last year when I bought them. I like colorful items, I just can’t help it. Because I buy so much color I usually have something tucked away in my closet that will match. If I hadn’t had this top I could have still worn these crop pants with navy, white, gray, etc. Don’t think you have to buy the entire outfit off of a mannequin in order to match, just take the item you want to wear and start holding it up to things in your closet.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMERThese are my tried and true old faithful shoes in the summer. They are by Aerosoles and I absolutely LOVE them. The have a cushioned bottom which makes them extremely comfortable plus these are a wedge heel. One of my favorite details of this pair is that the strap around the back uses velcro to close. I hate fiddling with those little latches. When you go to their site look under the “sandals” tab. I found so many I liked that I couldn’t choose. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMER Look who decided to join me for my photo shoot. Joe and I hadn’t had  any photos in a while together so I was thrilled when he came outside. Of course, with Joe, you never know what kind of photo you are going to get. These are the only ones I could use. Lol! He is rotten but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Haha!50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO KEEP COOL IN THE SUMMERI think Joe liked my off the shoulder top. Lol! He was doing his best Barnabas Collins impression here.
