JEANS AND A SWEATER FOR A EVERY DAY LOOK
I am headed home today and leaving the beach behind. It was a beautiful couple of days, but it is time to get back home and get everything ready for Christmas. Plus, my daughter is back in the lower 48, so I am anxious to have her come to the house. Joe has enjoyed himself while we were at the beach and has managed to play golf every day. He came back yesterday afternoon, and I made him walk down to the beach to take these photos. I warned you about his photography skills. Lol!
The first photo above is the first one that he took for me. I have cropped out the paper plate that was lying on the ground, and then I mentioned to him about having a harsh shadow across my face. He said that he noticed that but didn’t think it was a big deal. WRONG! So, then we moved so that the sun wasn’t making shadows across my face, and he proceeded to take pictures.
He took about four of this exact pose, no movement at all. He was so proud of himself as he said, “okay, I got four photos of that.” No, no, no, I don’t need so many photos that look exactly alike, I need you to tell me when you take the picture so that I can move around. UGH! I don’t know how these other bloggers have their husbands take the photos. But, I will admit, the longer we took pictures, the better he got. But, I don’t think that he has any desire to become my photographer any more than I do. LOL!!!
Even though it was sunny, the wind had kicked up, and it was a little chilly. So, I decided to wear my sweater from Old Navy, and Emersyn also has this sweater so that we can be twins. This Fair Isle sweater is super cute, and I love the dark navy background with the print jumping out at you. You can see that this sweater looks great with jeans, but I also think that it would look great with a pair of corduroy pants or a skirt with tights. Navy and gold/mustard are a favorite color combination of mine, so this sweater is perfect for me. Here is the link to the sweater.
I know that a lot of you are already shaking your head, “no.” The distressed jeans look might not be your cup of tea, but I love the casual look that a distressed pair of jeans have. I don’t have to worry about staining the jeans, ripping the jeans, or damaging them in any way since they are already destroyed. Lol! Joe has jeans that look similar to these because he got acid on them, and it put holes all in them. Haha! I told him that he could go into the business of making distressed jeans, but he didn’t seem too keen on the idea. Remember, there are all different levels of distressing so that you can pick your comfort level. The jeans that I am wearing (here) selling fast, so they had to be popular, but I’ll link to some that might be more to your liking.
I still love the wedge bootie that I bought earlier this fall. They are so comfortable, and I love the neutral color. These booties are modern and sophisticated looking, and they add “style” to whatever you are wearing. The color that I am wearing is called Sand Suede, and you can see that they are the color of sand. Haha! I ordered my usual size, and they fit me perfectly. Here is the link to the booties.
I have taken to the Fair Isle print this year. I have bought several items with the Fair Isle print, each of them being a little different. Here are several things with this print, and you can decide how much of the print you want to introduce into your wardrobe.
Joe’s photo for my earrings might have been a little far off. LOL! But, you can still see my earrings since they are large. I have thick hair, so I like wearing earrings that you can see through my mop. If you have shorter hair, then you might wear small studs, but they get lost on me. I am wearing a new pair of Kendra Scott earrings that I recently purchased called Avi. These are a true statement earring, and I love them. If you want to make someone squeal this Christmas, then put a bright yellow box from Kendra Scott in their stocking. I want to hear you squeal also, so here is a link that will get you 20% off anything that is full-priced.
My photographer stood still for a second so that I could grab a photo of the two of us together. Can you see in his face how thrilled he was at the idea? Lol! I wanted to remind all of you that TODAY is the last day to order the showstopper special with two of my favorite products, Lash Boost and Active Hydration. By purchasing them together in this bundle, you are getting them for 20% off! Here is the link to my website, and if you have any questions you can message me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com

Love the look except for the jeans. I just don’t get spending money for things with holes. But to each their own. This morning I found myself thinking a bit more on my casual outfit with you as my muse. I am only going in to do a conference call and catch up on a weekend but still. I dress up in the week but on the weekends I just throw on the jeans. Thanks to you I coordinated my sweater and put on cute little boots. 🙂
I love this look! I’ve been wanting a fair Isle sweater but haven’t found one to my liking. This is it! I will be ordering mine today. Your husband did well with the pictures and a chilly beach visit sounds nice.
I hope you see this comment since I am late reading your post. Love your bracelets! Would you please post info about them?
Tania, your outfit is so cute!! The distressed jeans look cute especially with the beach background and sneakers. Some ladies might not like them but I say to each her own!
Love the sweather! Not a fan of distressed jeans. Of course, they look great on you as does most everything you wear! I think Joe did a pretty good job with his photography. Glad you both were able to get away for a little vacation. Sorry you had to come back to these cold temperatures.
That sweater and outfit is GORGEOUS on you!!? very flattering on you. Glad you had a nice vacay at the beach.
I live within a bike ride of the beach and just never get down there. I should go just to enjoy the scenery. I love knowing its there though. These sweaters have always been my favorite winter design. I especially love a red and white one but this navy and gold could change my mind. You are melting away right before our eyes! You look wonderful.
That is a really cute outfit!!
Love this outfit, Tania! I too love a good pair of distressed jeans. Your stories about you and Joe are always so much fun. Reminds me a lot of my husband and I….the things that are said and the eyes that can roll… all out of love of course. 🙂
Wishing y’all a Merry Christmas!
Super cute! Greetings from Huntsville, Alabama.
Hey Joe, lighten up and smile! Tania has a large following and you should be proud of her.
You look great!! Enjoy reading your blog. So refreshing to get ideas for outfits that really work!! Think I live an hour or so away from Grundy in Tazewell, VA. I make my way down to Grundy 2 – 3 times a year to shop the QVC outlet stores (some great buys) and eat at the Chinese restaurant! Merry Christmas.
Love the outfit! The jeans and the sweater are a great combination! Fun casual outfit that looks young and stylish. Maybe it is the beach background that puts this one over the top for me — but definitely one of my favorites! Merry Christmas
Joe did a good job, you look very, very slim!
Love the jeans, distressing is a great way to look casual, effortless, and stylish. I’ve not been able to get on board with the wedge booties-I like a wedge sandal but the booties are just ugly to me! Regardless, you look great!
I saved the first picture to Pinterest. It was my favorite – Way to go Joe!
I have one pair of slightly distressed jeans from Old Navy and that’s IT!! Not gonna lie, that look is not a winner for me….a little but not a lot! The sweater, I love!! Big fan of those this year too. AND….after a little ‘direction’ from you, Joe did a great job taking your pics!! Ha! He’s probably not for hire though from the look on his face! Hahaha!
Can’t take a bad beach picture!! My granddaughters school dress code just changed, they are not allowed to wear distressed jeans unless they have leggings underneath. No skin showing. Some girls took it to a new level.
I just bought the Fair Isle sweater dress last week. I love it!
I haven’t worn distressed jeans but I I think these look great on you and make the whole outfit look hip.Love the boots too!
Just say NO to those jeans! Some distressing could be okay (not my fav look), but those have passed distressed and headed to homeless.
First, let me say that you are looking positively svelte!! Your version of fasting looks great on you. I don’t mind a small amount of distressing, but I’m not a fan of the destroyed look. Regardless, I thought you looked beautiful with the beach as a background. Merry Christmas to you!!
Wendy, I love that term…svelte ?
Not a fan of distressed jeans but, I must say, your man knows how to capture you on film! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
I love this outfit! Something I can totally see myself wearing! I wish I was somewhere warm right now too!
Pam, at least he tried!
