JACKIE O STYLE FOR A CLASSIC LOOK
I know all of you know how happy I have been to have my daughter home. Today was one of those days when I was doubly pleased to know where she was and that she was not in any danger. As a mom, we worry about our children and all of the things that can happen to them. We worry about their marriages, we worry about their jobs, and we worry about their health. Then, on top of that, we worry about them staying away from drugs, getting in a car wreck, and any other thousands of ways that can hurt them.
Yesterday there was a terrible 7.0 earthquake in Anchorage Alaska. There was a lot of damage to the roads and buildings, and I hated even looking at the pictures of the aftermath. Anchorage is north from where my daughter lived, which was in Juneau, so most of her friends were not affected. She did have one friend who has moved there, and she talked to her on the phone. Her friend had packed some of her belongings, her cat, and they were in her car waiting to see if a tsunami would hit. Thankfully, the sirens quit blaring, and everything was fine for her friend. I had lots of you message me asking about my daughter, and I appreciate that so much. I hope to be able to cross earthquakes, tsunamis, Grizzly Bear attacks, and avalanches off of my “things to worry about” list. Whew!!!
I know that this is Saturday and it is normally a relaxed and casual wear day. But, today, I am going Jackie O style instead. This cute little boxy tweed top was one that I bought on the clearance rack (I know, you are shocked) at Ann Taylor. Ann Taylor is a store that I consider a classic style store instead of a trendy store like Old Navy. I like a combination of all styles, and I don’t stick with just one.
Did you see my vintage purse video yesterday? I thought you might want to see how I carry one so I am carrying a bright cherry red, patent leather envelope purse today. This purse is one that my daughter picked out and we “share” it, but I am the only one who carries it.
I can’t believe that it is already December. This year has gone by so fast. I was looking back over the year, and it is amazing the changes that we go through. I am proud of all that I have accomplished, but I am most proud of all of the messages that I get from you gurls who tell me how I have helped to change your lives. Thank you for reading my blog and for sharing it with others.
