Short and sweet! That is how this try-on haul of spring styles from J.Jill will go. I ran into J.Jill while I was in Scottsdale to do a try-on haul, I fell in love with all the beautiful green clothing. St. Patrick’s Day might be over, but my love for green clothing will last the entire spring and summer seasons.

Unless I mention otherwise, everything fits in the size I’ve ordered. Each photo has the links underneath, including the size I’m wearing. For sizing reference, I’m 5’6″ tall, weigh between 150-155, and usually wear a size 8 in bottoms and between a medium and a large in tops.

This is a basic, everyday look with a tee and jeans. But this outfit has a surprise detail that makes it unique.

Don’t you just love the pleat detail??? Not only will you look great as you walk passed someone, but the pleat keeps the top from being tight and showing tummy rolls.

This is another classic look. You can wear a polo shirt in many ways, and we all need a white one. I love layering them under sweaters in the fall and winter, but I wear them most often in summer. They look great with almost anything, and you will find yourself wearing this all the time.

I like both items, but they are a little too much green when worn together. A navy top would look great with these stretch pants. Plus, the polo shirt above would go great with them.

The floral pleat-back tee is super cute and would look great with white shorts or jeans. Dark-wash jeans would also make the top pop against the dark background.

Look how adding this gorgeous utility jacket changed the look. I’ve mentioned several times how a 3rd item elevates an outfit, and this is a classic example.

I left without buying the jacket, but I’m seriously considering placing an online order. What do y’all think?

This was my favorite outfit of the day. I loved the blouse and cropped jeans; I thought they looked great together.

The jeans were too big on me through the waist, and the store didn’t have a 6 in stock for me to try on. I’m going to order these, and I hope that a 6 works for me. They are so stylish, and I love the wide legs and large hem.

I changed the wide-leg jeans for a slim-leg pair of white jeans. The blouse looks better with the darker jeans; the white seems to wash the outfit out. I like the white jeans, but the store didn’t have a size 8, so I’m wearing an 8 petite to give you an idea of the look.

The blouse is oversized, and I needed to size it down. It was too large through the chest and too big under the arms.

Ummm, I’m not too sure about these jeans. The sales lady was super friendly and kept bringing me clothing to try on. These jeans were one of her picks.

Usually, I like unique details, but I think the pockets are too oversized. What do you think, would you wear these jeans?

Maybe this is my favorite look?!? If not, it would be a close second.

I love this Smocked Two-Way A-Line Top! It looks great worn on the shoulders…

or off the shoulders. I honestly can’t tell you which way I like best; the top looks great both ways. Black jeans are a staple for me in summer. A pair of black jeans and a white v-neck tee are one of my favorite looks in the summer. It is easy to dress up by adding a blazer or dress down by wearing sneakers.

Several of you have asked for knee-length dresses. This floral tiered knit dress is very comfortable and soft. The medium is plenty roomy, and I love how the dress fits.

This dress isn’t quite as soft as the first one, but I love the color. The style of this dress is oversized, so no lumps, bumps, or rolls will show.

I hope you enjoyed today’s J.Jill Try On Haul. Be sure to give me feedback, so I know what retailers you love me to showcase.

Can’t believe you left the store without that jacket. May no room I. The suitcase. You NEED that jacket.

I love a lot of the clothes and shoes you show us. But being retired at 59 (me) and 60 (husband) I cannot buy clothes and shoes this expensive. Would love to , but would feel super guilty if I did.

  3. I agree with you on all the green! So pretty. I love everything in this post except the solid green dress. It just looks a little raggedy to me. The solid green pants with the floral pleat back top is my favorite. I love the jeans with the button fly. So cute!

Thank you for including J. Jill as one of the stores you support. I buy many of my clothes here and have always been pleased with the consistent sizing and quality! I have the wide-legged jeans and the green top that you modeled. I am loving them!

You sure did find some great things at JJill! For me. The jeans with the big front pockets are a no-go, mainly because of the size of the pockets. The tummy area is not what I want to draw at too. I have a pair of wide legged cropped jeans that I like, but Larry thinks they look funny. The knee length flowered dress is fabulous. I am adding dresses to my spring/summer wardrobe since they are so feminine and Larry likes to see me dressing more feminine. I want to keep him happy, as long as it suits me.

Thanks for showing JJill. It’s my favorite place to shop, but I’m not close to one so I order online. Your pictures helped me decide on some items. Thanks!

  7. My favorites are — Get the jacket. I like l those jeans with the large pockets ON YOU! Also, love the black off the shoulder top with the black pants-looked great on you. I think you can wear it a lot. I’m glad you tried on the green dress bcz I had seen it online and am thinking of ordering it.

  8. I ordered the green pleat back tee last week – can’t wait for it to get here!! I won’t be buying the oversized pocket jeans – but I think I had a pair that I loved back in the 70’s…
