J.Jill Try On Haul Of Spring Styles
Short and sweet! That is how this try-on haul of spring styles from J.Jill will go. I ran into J.Jill while I was in Scottsdale to do a try-on haul, I fell in love with all the beautiful green clothing. St. Patrick’s Day might be over, but my love for green clothing will last the entire spring and summer seasons.
Unless I mention otherwise, everything fits in the size I’ve ordered. Each photo has the links underneath, including the size I’m wearing. For sizing reference, I’m 5’6″ tall, weigh between 150-155, and usually wear a size 8 in bottoms and between a medium and a large in tops.
You can click on any highlighted wording to be taken to the retailer.
This is a basic, everyday look with a tee and jeans. But this outfit has a surprise detail that makes it unique.
Don’t you just love the pleat detail??? Not only will you look great as you walk passed someone, but the pleat keeps the top from being tight and showing tummy rolls.
This is another classic look. You can wear a polo shirt in many ways, and we all need a white one. I love layering them under sweaters in the fall and winter, but I wear them most often in summer. They look great with almost anything, and you will find yourself wearing this all the time.
I like both items, but they are a little too much green when worn together. A navy top would look great with these stretch pants. Plus, the polo shirt above would go great with them.
The floral pleat-back tee is super cute and would look great with white shorts or jeans. Dark-wash jeans would also make the top pop against the dark background.
Look how adding this gorgeous utility jacket changed the look. I’ve mentioned several times how a 3rd item elevates an outfit, and this is a classic example.
I left without buying the jacket, but I’m seriously considering placing an online order. What do y’all think?
This was my favorite outfit of the day. I loved the blouse and cropped jeans; I thought they looked great together.
The jeans were too big on me through the waist, and the store didn’t have a 6 in stock for me to try on. I’m going to order these, and I hope that a 6 works for me. They are so stylish, and I love the wide legs and large hem.
I changed the wide-leg jeans for a slim-leg pair of white jeans. The blouse looks better with the darker jeans; the white seems to wash the outfit out. I like the white jeans, but the store didn’t have a size 8, so I’m wearing an 8 petite to give you an idea of the look.
The blouse is oversized, and I needed to size it down. It was too large through the chest and too big under the arms.
Ummm, I’m not too sure about these jeans. The sales lady was super friendly and kept bringing me clothing to try on. These jeans were one of her picks.
Usually, I like unique details, but I think the pockets are too oversized. What do you think, would you wear these jeans?
Maybe this is my favorite look?!? If not, it would be a close second.
I love this Smocked Two-Way A-Line Top! It looks great worn on the shoulders…
or off the shoulders. I honestly can’t tell you which way I like best; the top looks great both ways. Black jeans are a staple for me in summer. A pair of black jeans and a white v-neck tee are one of my favorite looks in the summer. It is easy to dress up by adding a blazer or dress down by wearing sneakers.
Several of you have asked for knee-length dresses. This floral tiered knit dress is very comfortable and soft. The medium is plenty roomy, and I love how the dress fits.
This dress isn’t quite as soft as the first one, but I love the color. The style of this dress is oversized, so no lumps, bumps, or rolls will show.
I hope you enjoyed today’s J.Jill Try On Haul. Be sure to give me feedback, so I know what retailers you love me to showcase.

You are adorable! Love the smocked top. I think I need it.
I love the jacket and think I need it for myself. Also I really like the jeans you were questioning.
I really love the boyfriend jeans on you and the black outfit too. I agree about the big pocket crops, really dislike them. thank you for showing these much better pictures than thier website. hope you critic euleen fisher in the future too. Will check back
you should take home the blue jean jacket, wide leg cropped jeans and the black floral top. MY FAVS!!!
I miss the J Jill crops that have a wider leg and no fussy buttons or pockets. I have repurposed decade old t-shirts in all cotton to wear at night with the crop sleep pants. I have gotten older and Covid wider so tops with spandex in them are not flattering at all! My entire closet is filled with J Jill tunics but I need cropped pants!
I love the floral pullover top with the jeans with big pockets. That’s my favorite look. The button fly jeans are super cute too. But since the floral top also has buttons, it is just too many buttons for one outfit. And it bothered me that the buttons on the top and jeans don’t always line up, depending on how you pose. And please, buy that jacket before it sells out!
Oh wow; I really loved so many of these looks. I really need to get over there and do a try-on of my own. Ok, so I loved the button fly jeans except for the actual button-fly. Boy do I wish they had a regular zipper. The other jeans with the big pockets would be a pass for me. I, too, think the pockets are too big and distracting. I love the jacket, especially the neckline and the buttons. And, that black outfit looked amazing (especially with the off-the-shoulder look.) So many fun looks. Thanks!
I agree with you about the jeans with the big pockets and I would not wear them.
The black smocked top and pants is my favorite outfit shown today. Looks great on you.
Such cute items! The black jeans and top was my favorite look! So slimming too! I like the big pocket jeans because I like the leg opening, not too wide. A solid top would work well with those jeans. I think you should also get the Jean jacket and the first blue dress. Thanks for showing J Jill!
hey Tania…you looked great in all J Jill styles…very flattering. J Jill is one of my favorites so thanks for showcasing their styles!
Love all the green. The wide leg crops are my favorite. I have bought a lot of green for spring and summer. I even bought green jean crop flares. I have a lot of olive green but I am loving this bright spring green like you are styling.
I really liked the green pants, unfortunately, they were sold out in most sizes. I purchased the green t-shirt previously. I also tried on the large pocket jeans…they were a hard pass for me. Love your posts.
Several cute outfits. I do love J Jill clothing. Guess I need to go shopping. 😊
Can’t believe you left the store without that jacket. May no room I. The suitcase. You NEED that jacket.
I love a lot of the clothes and shoes you show us. But being retired at 59 (me) and 60 (husband) I cannot buy clothes and shoes this expensive. Would love to , but would feel super guilty if I did.
I agree with you on all the green! So pretty. I love everything in this post except the solid green dress. It just looks a little raggedy to me. The solid green pants with the floral pleat back top is my favorite. I love the jeans with the button fly. So cute!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for including J. Jill as one of the stores you support. I buy many of my clothes here and have always been pleased with the consistent sizing and quality! I have the wide-legged jeans and the green top that you modeled. I am loving them!
You sure did find some great things at JJill! For me. The jeans with the big front pockets are a no-go, mainly because of the size of the pockets. The tummy area is not what I want to draw at too. I have a pair of wide legged cropped jeans that I like, but Larry thinks they look funny. The knee length flowered dress is fabulous. I am adding dresses to my spring/summer wardrobe since they are so feminine and Larry likes to see me dressing more feminine. I want to keep him happy, as long as it suits me.
Thanks for showing JJill. It’s my favorite place to shop, but I’m not close to one so I order online. Your pictures helped me decide on some items. Thanks!
My favorites are — Get the jacket. I like l those jeans with the large pockets ON YOU! Also, love the black off the shoulder top with the black pants-looked great on you. I think you can wear it a lot. I’m glad you tried on the green dress bcz I had seen it online and am thinking of ordering it.
I ordered the green pleat back tee last week – can’t wait for it to get here!! I won’t be buying the oversized pocket jeans – but I think I had a pair that I loved back in the 70’s…
Lol! I had those jeans too. They were just as awful then.
I love all the green!!
Love the black and the greens- beautiful!
Love the green on you with your coloring! Mine is similar. I have the J Jill denim jacket and love it! It is TTS. I love the Sofft and Birkenstock shoes from J Jill. I have had trouble finding jeans from J Jill that are a good fit on me. I do better with Madewell jeans.
I liked the black items the best and also the back pleated tees. None of my favorite retailers have dress selections that have thrilled me this spring as so many offer big sleeves or ruffled hems.
I recently bought two pairs of jeans at JJill when they had a 30% off promo.
I purchased the slim ankle and the boot cut both in blue denim and they fit me great in 8 petite. Otherwise I find their their selections hit or miss as others have stated. Thanks for doing a try on session there!
The wide leg jeans look great on (you) and your post crisp blue shiny buttons, much better than the J.Jill website where they look muted dull brown buttons. I can’t decide if it’s a picture thing or if they are different in store versus online. I’m ordering but nervous!
I’m headed to jJill next week because if you😉. The green long sleeve with short button front jeans and the black and white smocked top. Plus I’m ordering the sandals.
I don’t care for the oversized pockets on the jeans either. Do love all the green too!
Just love this try-on haul from J.Jill. It’s my favorite store! The green pants, green floral top, with the utility jacket is just the best! Green is definitely your color!
I haven’t shopped at JJill, but I will need to check them out. I like the green and black print tops.
Love the greens on you. Great color for you. Too bad the mirror at J Jill is so dusty, reflects poorly on them. Also, why couldn’t the shop keepers steam out some of the items for you? Especially that green dress. But I still like it on you.
I love the patch pocket jeans. my cell phone is huge and my pockets are never big enough to hold it. plus I watch grandchildren, and I could hold Kleenex hahaha.
the ultra soft pullover blouse and the complete backed t-shirts are my favorite tops you look great!
I haven’t been in to a J.Jill store in years…guess I’d better go back! Love all these looks. And get the utility jacket – such a fresh take on a denim jacket!
JJill has been very hit or miss for me lately – often more miss. It seems their sizing is all over the board and quality is limited. I appreciate your try-on hauls and honest feedback!
The black outfit was the very best look! Dresses were a NO. I don’t usually enjoy JJill so I’m glad you went there for me. Again, I enjoy your posts about clothes and Jesus.
Loved the utility jacket on you, I think you should order it !
Love the green plate back shirt and the white polo. They fit so nice and hang perfect.
Love the dresses also (not a dress lover- but could be in these)
Happy Trip planning.
I love the wide cropped jeans! I am short and have tried several pair and have been disappointed in all so far but those are adorable. I have stove pipe jeans from Talbots that I really like. I’m not sure how they differ. We don’t have J Jill here. Thanks for the cute inspiration!
Those wide leg cropped jeans look great on you!!! So cute!
You look stunning! Just curious about your weight loss. What diet did you use?
Keep it up! I love all the styles you have chosen to show us today.
Hi! I loved the green outfits that were so bright and summery. I like the looks of JJill clothes, but I seldom buy them. It seems the fabric often times means special care, ironing touch ups, laying flat to dry and things like that. There are other retailers with clothes that require easier care. Chico’s, for instance is one of my favorites.
That denim jacket was cute on you. A little different style than most Jean jackets.
I’m having trouble loving jeans that are cropped with wide legs. Then I fear I am unable to adapt to trendy styles. I always come back to the narrow legged ones.
I love J.Jill and this was great. Didn’t love the wide pocket jeans but did love so many other things. Thanks!!
Love the outfits you are showing lately I find myself saying I would so wear them
Disappointed in this JJill haul. I love JJill but these outfits look nothing like their normal clothing. They look cheap and like they would come from Walmart . Just my opinion.
Love these looks! I purchased the wide leg jeans a few weeks ago and love them! I’m going back for the t’s! Thank you so much for your site! I love it. You always style your outfits in such a classic way. I’m 66 and you always give me great ideas.
I love those wide leg cropped, but those pocket jeans will be on clearance soon…yuck! As others said, your eyes to straight to your hips and no woman, no matter her size, wants that! I find a lot of J Jill to be really frumpy. I tried to find something cute there for an event today, but it just wasn’t meant to be. A lot of this reminds me of what the Loft has.
I agree with you on those jeans with the pockets. I have a similar pair. They fit fine but I don’t love them.
I LOVE how that cute denim jacket elevated that look. Such cute spring outfits!
Update- After seeing this I hopped in my car and drove and hour away to try the jacket on. I decided on the natural colored one. I would have never spent that on a jacket if I hadn’t seen how awesome it looked on you. You NEED it. 🙂
Love all the green. Have to admit I have never shopped JJill but this post is making me look to see where the nearest store is to me. Safe travels!
I love the green tiered dress, the boyfriend jeans and the tops (for sure the one with black jeans). For me it’s a no to the big pocket jeans. I had stopped shopping at J Jill but I’ll give them another try:). Thank you! Safe travels.
I had never heard of JJill until your post. I love the green tiered dress—and yes, you need that utility jacket!
I liked the spring colors-Good haul for sure!
I wasn’t wild about the patch pocket jeans. My eyes were drawn to that area. I would feel self conscious in them. They looked good on you. The pockets were just distracting.
I loved the wide legged jeans!
🙏🏻safe travels. Enjoy your trip!
I love when you showcase JJill. it has long been my favourite American retailer. we don’t have them here in Canada but when I’m stateside I always check to see if the area I’m in has a store. some of my most classic and long lasting pieces are from there.
Now, as for the packing…Tania…unpack as soon as you get home lol. It is such a good feeling to put that suitcase away before you crawl into bed your first night home. I travel for work and pleasure and we have an rv and camp….ALWAYS unpack and start laundry when we get home. Once you form the habit you will wonder why you didn’t always do it.
J Jill is great on you Tania! You’ve inspired me to visit J Jill this weekend. Get the jacket! I’m getting it after seeing it on you. A nice alternative to the typical denim jacket. Enjoy Mexico!
Green looks great on you! I especially love the outfit with the denim jacket!
I love the cropped jeans AND the jeans with the large pockets! You should definitely get the jacket.
The Jean jacket is a definite “must have!” The jeans with the big pockets would just make my stomach show more. The tees & blouse are so cute!
Tania, have a great trip but stay safe.
Blessings
I love the patch pocket jeans. They are flattering and different without being “too much” in my opinion. I don’t typically shop at JJill, but based on how many things I love in this post and the fact that they have petite sizes, I’m on a mission to check them out! The pleated T, dresses, and utility jacket all grabbed my attention! Thank you.
Love the sandals but wonder if you have trouble with them sliding off your feet when you walk
Nope! They never slide around on my feet. 🤷🏼♀️
Oh my! I love the tops and the tiered dress. Go back and get the jacket!!
I would encourage you to buy the modern utility jacket online! I bought it in the natural color a few weeks ago and love it. I have received wonderful compliments each time I wore it.
Tania, you look amazing! How do you mantain your weight? I have a sweet tooth that has me holding an extra 30lbs, I eat well otherwise and I am active. Do you have a sweet tooth that you have to control? The boyfriend jeans and pleated tees are my favorites and very flattering on you! 🌷🌷🌷
No to the big pocket jeans for sure.
Safe travels while in Mexico
Ummm yea. Those jeans 👎🏼
Lol! I liked the cropped jeans, but not the ones with the large pockets.
