Every so often, I like to do an update on products that I am using. I try a LOT of different beauty, skincare, and supplements throughout the year, but there are on a small handful that I continue using. Collagen For Her is one that I’ve been using for six months, and I am still loving it!

Almost every morning, I start out the day with a cup of coffee. It is my little wake-me-up for getting my day started. Adding a small scoop of Collagen For Her Marine Collagen to my coffee is easy to do.

One of the things that I love about Collagen For Her is that there is NO taste residue when I add it to my beverages. Plus, it dissolves easily and quickly in hot beverages, and most of the time, I don’t even have to stir my coffee before it is ready to drink it.

It is quick and easy, and it only takes me a few seconds. I didn’t realize that all Collagen supplements didn’t have this same feature. I found out the hard way that all Collagen is not created equal.

Since I am splitting my time between my new home and our old home, I have had to remember to take certain items with me each time I travel. Guess who forgot her Collagen For Her at the new house this week? One of my friends mentioned that she had bought some collagen from another brand, so I picked some up to get me through the week until I went back to the new house. BIG MISTAKE!

I made my coffee like always, added a scoop of the collagen powder, and then waited for it to dissolve. Occasionally, a small amount of my Collagen For Her powder will get trapped on an air bubble, and I use a spoon to stir it up. It immediately dissolves once I break up the air bubble.

This photo was after I had stirred my coffee for a few minutes. It finally occurred to me that this was NOT going to dissolve.

It took me about five minutes of stirring and breaking up clumps before I was finally able to take a sip of my coffee. There was a thick foam left on the top, but I have visions of a good frothy Starbucks coffee in my mind as I took a sip. NOPE! That was not the reality. Instead, I quickly scooped off the nasty foam and threw it into the sink. But, my coffee had a funky flavor that I didn’t find pleasant. Lesson learned…I’ll be ordering more Collagen For Her so that I can have the product at both houses so this doesn’t happen again.

If I don’t add my Collagen To Her to my morning coffee, I add it to my afternoon Chai tea. It works great in smoothies too, but will clump when added to cold liquids like iced coffee or iced tea. I put mine in a good blender and I’ve never had any issues with finding clumps in my smoothies. You can also add the powder to baked goods and get extra collagen without altering the taste!

Once again, the tasteless powder easily dissolves only leaving me with my great-tasting tea.

But, let’s be honest, you want to know WHY you should even bother to use collagen in the first place. So, here are some of the reasons that I use collagen.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ADDING COLLAGEN TO YOUR DIET?

Multiple studies report:

  • may help relieve joint pain from arthritis
  • has the key amino acid glutamine, which may help prevent inflammation in the gut wall and healing leaky gut syndrome
  • may aid in weight loss by boosting your metabolism
  • may help build bone density
  • may help increase muscle mass
  • may help to maintain healthy joints and tendons
  • Beauty Benefits: may help achieve healthier hair, skin, and nails. It may help promote stronger nails, hair growth, and improved skin elasticity

My Journey with Collagen For Her

One of the reasons that I originally started using Collagen For Her was because my poor nails were crap. I had quit having my nails done at the nail salon, and without the gel they put on them, they were dry, brittle, and thin. I also had tennis elbow from playing too many card games with my granddaughter, and I had heard that Collagen was good for your joints. My sister was also having joint issues, so she also decided to try Collagen for Her.

It took a while for me to start seeing a difference, but now my nails are much healthier and not near as brittle or thin. It can take up to 12 weeks to see results when starting a supplement, and everyone is different, so give it time to work. I am happy to say that my tennis elbow went away quickly, and my sister says she can feel a big difference in her joints also. I honestly didn’t think that the collagen was working for my nails until I stopped taking it for a couple of weeks. Lol! I won’t make that mistake again!

I like that Collagen For Her is created for women. And, they also give back, and I like doing business with companies that care.

The Marine Collagen Beauty Blend is my choice, although the other products work great. It’s made from hydrolyzed fish collagen and has added hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Biotin, Natural Flavor. It doesn’t have a fishy taste at all, but you get all of the added benefits.

I appreciate Collagen For Her for sponsoring this post and allowing me to tell all of my friends about their wonderful products and how they may make aging easier for us, and to give all of my readers a Special Code.

  1. Marcia Klassen says:

What is the difference in the 2 containers of Collagen for her you show in your post.

    1. I think the difference is one is fish based and one is bovine based.

  2. Paula G Ryba says:

Do you take both the products shown, The Marine Collagen Beauty blend and the Collagen Peptides? What is the difference?

    1. No, I am only taking the Marine Collagen Beauty Blend right now. The difference is that the Marine Collagen is from fish.

  3. Aimee Spencer says:

Tania are you taking both the pink and blue containers?

    1. No, Aimee, I started with the regular Collagen For Her, and switched to the Marine Beauty Blend.

  4. Sharon Neff says:

I take another collagen that dissolves in hot liquid as well. I see results in my nails, but my hairdresser said she saw new hair growth as well. It took a while to notice in my joints, but I do. I love collagen!

Hi Tania, When I enter TANIA in the promo box to check out, it says, “The promotional code you entered is not valid.” Can you give me any suggestions to make this work?

    1. Let me message Casey and see if there is an issue. Can you try another server? Maybe Safari or Chrome and see if you get the message on both of those.

      1. The code is still not working. I’ve used two different web sources.

  6. I have been trying to find a reputable study regarding collagen supplements. Collagen for Her says “it may prevent” or “it may reduce”.

  7. I love Collagen for Her! My nails are definitely healthier, and my hair is smoother. I think it might be helping my joints, but I am also doing yoga and walking. Probably all of them help. I mix it in my coffee when I break my fast in the afternoon (I do IF). Thank you for posting about it when you started using it!

  8. What’s the difference between the two containers?
Love your earring btw, I had to go out and get them after I saw them on you a couple of months ago!

    1. Christine Carter says:

where did you get your earrings from

  9. I started adding collagen to my morning tea about 3 months ago, and have noticed a difference in my joints and skin. Like you I started with Collagen for Her, then switched to a cheaper brand. Won’t do that again! I’m back with Collagen for Her and won’t switch again.
I so enjoy your posts, it like catching up with a fun friend!

  10. It does some of the same things my Vit d3 does that my dr just started me on. If I add this I should have great bones. My nails are strong because of genetics I guess but this sounds like something that might be good to add for other reasons.
You have the most remarkable eyes. Poor Joe. Never stood a chance. LOL

  11. Good morning Tania, I love this product too! I started taking it for all the reasons you stated. But for me, there is an additional benefit. I have “thin skin” and taking this product has significant reduced the unsightly purple bruises I would get on my wrists and hands with the slightest bump. Like you, I’ll never be without it!
