50 IS NOT OLD | IS A MAXI DRESS FOR YOU | FASHION OVER 40What happens when you are spontaneous? I have been laughing today because my friends all think that something is wrong or that I am going through a mid-life crisis. ?I told Joe that I had a phone call from a concerned friend because she said that I never did things like this. Then, even my Energizer Bunny Friend wanted to know what in the heck was going on. It is clear to me that I have been way too predictable in my life. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | IS A MAXI DRESS FOR YOU | FASHION OVER 40 First off, I am not yet middle age. Do you know how long the people in my family live? Hahaha! Secondly, why is spontaneity only reserved for the younger generation? I told EBF that I thought she must have forgotten the name of my blog which is 50 IS NOT OLD!!! Come on people, I just went to visit my parents and my sister. I didn’t get a belly piercing (I couldn’t see it anyway) or a tattoo that says “Born To Be Wild,” well, at least not yet. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | IS A MAXI DRESS FOR YOU | FASHION OVER 40I might have a few more surprises for you but you will just have to keep reading my blog to hear my other adventures. I seriously love maxi dresses. They might not be a cool as a shorter dress but the not having to shave the leg thing is pretty high in my book. This one checks off a whole lot of boxes for me. It is flowy but I can belt it or tie the fabric belt at the waist. It is trendy and very stylish with the floral print. It has an interesting neckline with the halter style neck. AND, it is extremely affordable!!! It is 100% polyester, hand washable, and runs true to size. How is that for checking off all the boxes? Here is where you go to find this one.

50 IS NOT OLD | IS A MAXI DRESS FOR YOU | FASHION OVER 40Once again I didn’t wear very much jewelry. The Salmon Rounds earrings are so lightweight and really cheap. They still can create a huge statement but just won’t cost you a fortune. This is the first time that I have worn the Quinn necklace. Can you even see the dainty turquoise necklace? The Tanesha and the Suzie tortoiseshell bracelets are my go-to bracelets this summer.50 IS NOT OLD | IS A MAXI DRESS FOR YOU | FASHION OVER 40 I added the coral cardigan to the dress. I don’t have the prettiest of shoulders so the cardigan serves a couple purposes. It keeps me warm in restaurants or in church when it can get chilly. It also gives you a slimmer look and it hides the upper arms which most of us would rather not show. I will buy cardigans when I run across a color that I don’t have. I know that I will find something to wear with it eventually.

  1. I love maxi dresses. This one is so pretty. I like the halter neckline and I’d wear a lightweight cardigan also since my arms aren’t my best feature. Beautiful as always Tania. Being spontaneous can be so much fun. Go for it. ?

    1. I am starting to embrace the spontaneous side of me but I am not sure that Joe is going to embrace it near as much!

  2. Since the end of March and the first day of retirement, I have been on the go! I have been to Washington DC, Eureka Springs, Arkansas, spent 10 days in Belize and now spending the summer with a daughter and family! Oh and we’ve been to Acadia National Park! This is my year of saying Yes! Enjoy your day! Love your blog and I read it wherever I am!

    1. My goodness, Ramona. I am nowhere near as adventurous as you. Joe would love to go to Belize. You will have to tell me all about it.

  3. I’m rejoicing in your new found freedom to enjoy life as it unfolds. I just hope Joe doesn’t panic and pulls you back into semi retirement?

    1. He is trying, Margo, but I keep resisting. Lol!

  4. Like Stylishatsixty, I never wear Maxis. They look so lovely on other people but it just seems like too much fabric for my short frame. But this is lovely on you. OK now be really brave and show your arms! We all have them, I don’t think anyone will be too shocked at seeing them. It’s summer and hot…you have the right to Bare Your Arms!

    1. Lol! I have no problem showing MY arms but I know a lot of ladies are self-conscious in them. I like a cardigan because I am always cold and they help me look thinner. I am all about anything that helps me look thinner.

  5. Sorry for the double comment. When I went to read my first comment it wasn’t there. This happens quite regular. No idea why!

    1. This happens to me too sometimes.

    2. No problem. The comments go through a service and sometimes it takes a little time for them to show.

  6. As usual you look great and so colourful. I only have 1 maxi and never wear it. I feel too short in sandals and too elegant in heels lol. Maybe I need to retry it.

  7. Good morning from the UK. GO FOR IT GIRL have fun in retirement. Since my retirement I never say no to anything (well so far) lol. You look great in a maxi. I only have 1 maxi and never wear it. I feel too short in flats and too elegant in heels for day wear. I prefer a jump suit. But as usual yo look great and lovely and colourful. Enjoy your day x

    1. You need to add a pair of espadrille sandals to the look. They are great for elevating you, especially if you get the kind with the platform sole, and they are perfect for the casual look you are wanting.

  8. Super Cute!! And the nail polish coordinates too!!
You could re-name the blog, “The adventures of Tania”. Haha!!

    1. Haha. You know that I “meant” to do that.

  9. You look great! I love the colors! Sorry for being concerned, go for it girl!

    1. Haha! I love that you were concerned. I just thought it was funny that people thought I was acting strange, or maybe I should say, stranger. Lol!

  10. Never say never. I’ll watch for the tattoo! You look marvelous!

    1. Maybe we can get one together, Janet!
