HOW TO WEAR VELVET

Happy Monday morning from the Stephens household. I know that most of us are just now finished with digesting all of the massive amounts of food from Thanksgiving, or was that just me? I am as relaxed as I have been in a long time. It was a wonderful loooong weekend, and I never left the house once to go shopping. You gurls know that I love a bargain, but, you might not know that I HATE crowds. I don’t like crowded aisles, and I hate feeling like I am in someone’s way if I am looking at an item. Plus, if you have a shopping cart that you are pushing up and down the aisles, it gets tough to maneuver around all of the people. And, if the stores are crazy crowded, don’t even get me started on the parking lot. You have to drive up and down the aisles looking for a spot, or you stalk people leaving the store and wait to see what car they get in. I hate when they are just taking a load out to the car and then they are going back in to do more shopping. Lol! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the internet!!! I would rather pay more money for something than to have to fight the crowds. I know a lot of people love the “game” of getting something cheaper and to them, it is a lot of fun. I am just making it easier on them to get their item. Lol! I will not be of any competition at all. Haha! I love this sweater dress by Pink Rose, but it is so old that I can’t remember for sure where I bought it. I would guess that it came from TJ Maxx or Ross Stores because of the brand name. I love shopping at TJ Maxx for clothing, purses, and home decorations. But, when it comes to dresses, I prefer shopping at Ross Stores because they seem to have a much better selection. The intricate pattern is what makes this dress so special. The pattern only goes down the center of the dress, so that also draws your eye inward which helps to create a thinner look.

The Italy necklace has to be one of the very favorite items from the Fall Plunder catalog! I love the style of this necklace, and I have worn it with jeans as well as dresses. It is so versatile, and it packs a huge amount of style, but it isn’t cumbersome on the neck. I can’t wear items that are too heavy because they make me have a headache. I could have worn the Delaney matching earrings (I couldn’t find them) but instead I chose to wear the Nola pearl earrings. One of the hottest trends of the season is velvet. I have added this trend with my velvet jacket by Izod that I bought several years ago at a thrift store. I purchased this before the velvet trend got so popular, so I was in the right place at the right time. Lol! I have always been a fan of velvet, and I think it is a timeless fabric that can be worn even when it is not the latest trend. And, you can never go wrong with a classic style black jacket.
