How To Wear Leopard Print Over 50

Leopard print is iconic, chic, and sometimes intimidating. It has been a symbol of fashion for centuries, and it is a classic print that itsn’t going anywhere. Leopard print is seen as glamorous and sophisticated. Even though this print has been around for what seems like an eternity and has been worn by celebrities as well as everyday women, some wonder if it is right for them. So, today, let’s tackle the subject of how to wear leopard print over 50.
*Warning: a lot of items I’m styling are older and no longer in stock. I will do my best to find alternatives and similar items.
How To Wear Leopard Print Over 50

Leopard print makes a bold statement, and it is not for the faint of heart. If you don’t like anyone to notice you, then this post might not be for you. But, for those women who enjoy standing out in a crowd and don’t mind the attention, leopard print is a perfect choice.
Leopard print can be worn in many ways. You don’t have to wear head-to-toe leopard print; you can instead opt for accessories if you only want a touch of the print added to your look. I like to tone down my leopard print outfits with basic colors such as white, black, or gray for a more sophisticated look.
How To Wear Leopard Print Over 50: Have Some Fun

I love to wear bright shoes such as red or pink when styling leopard print to add a little fun and flirtyness to the look. Leopard print comes in many different colors and patterns. This bright red statement print top was sure to be a head-turner.
How To Wear Leopard Print Over 50: Shoes

You will see me wearing animal print shoes a LOT! I love how stylish and chic they can make any outfit, even if it is only a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. I’ve had these pumps for years, plus a whole lot more that wouldn’t fit on the table. I also have a few animal print flats, and those look great in the summer with shorts.
How To Wear Leopard Print Over 50: Tops With Jeans

With leopard print being so versatile, it can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion. I love wearing leopard print with jeans, either as a top, shoes, or handbag.
How To Wear Leopard Print Over 50: Coats and Jackets

I love vintage clothing, and I went wild when I saw this leopard coat! It is so heavy that I don’t wear it a lot, but you would have a hard time prying it loose from my pudgy little paws. I’ve actually found a lot of similar leopard print coats that haven’t already been worn by women for 50-75 years. Lol!
How To Wear Leopard Print Over 50: Accessories

One of the easiest ways to add a smidgen of leopard print to your outfit is through accessories. I love adding scarves, handbags, and jewelry, and they are usually an affordable option.
Are Leopard and Cheetah Animal Prints Still Fashionable
This is the most asked question about animal prints. Leopard and Cheetah prints have been the hottest print for so many years that they were starting to become stale. But both prints are still fashionable, so don’t ditch them just yet. Leopard and Cheetah animal prints are classics that will never truly go out of style. Some classics will always look fashionable, even if they aren’t the hot trend of the moment.
How Can You Tell When Clothing Is Still Fashionable
You can easily tell when something is still fashionable and okay to wear. Go to the stores. Retailers spend a ton of money on clothing, and they won’t be stocking their shelves with outdated clothing. If you find a store that stocks outdated clothing, you need to find another retailer.

Thanks for sharing the can opener. I just ordered one! And I love the daily Bible verses. Thanks for all the hard work keeping us updated on styles!
Your shoes! 🩷🩷🩷
I personally think a little leopard goes a long way…a scarf, belt, light cardigan, shoes. I have 3 prs. of leopard shoes and I love all three. Also a pair of leopard booties. I have a lightweight cardigan that I keep hanging on to but just can’t seem to make it look right on me!!! I read your blog for a long time, then I just got away from blogs altogether for awhile. I happened to catch yours recently and I’m hooked again:)
I feel like a show from the 70s, Welcome Back!

When you said Preppy was making a comeback and I said it never left my closet….animal prints have NEVER made their way to my closet. I don’t own anything animal print. My 34 year old daughter loves it. Not her old preppy Mama!! Not happening! Lol.

Thanks
Barb
Love the new colors and patterns of leopard print. The red and white is so striking!
I have always loved leopard print! I just recently bought a pair of flats in a leopard print. They really dress up an outfit even if you’re wearing jeans. By the way, have to tell you how great you look and so slender!
I love those faux fur leopard coats!! Here in SC there aren’t many days that call for that much warmth, but they are so yummy! I have many pairs of animal print shoes and accessories. I love them all! The manager at one of my favorite retail boutiques said animal print is supposed to read as a neutral, not a “print”. I can kinda get on board with that in some ways and with some actual prints, but not across the board. All of your picks are great, as usual.
Delanie, it took me a long time to consider animal print as a neutral, but that’s how I look at it now.
I have always loved leopard print! I just recently bought a pair of flats in a leopard print. They really dress up an outfit even if you’re wearing jeans. By the way, have to tell you how great you look and so slender!
Loved the Taylor Swift choices. Beautiful looks for us vintage ladies.
I have always loved animal prints and I am happy to hear they aren’t going anywhere. I adore the top you are wearing in the first photo!
I love everything you presented today!!
Love the look of the first photo, found no information about the blouse or black pants. Help a girl out, please, love the look. I have many leopard print shoes, designer ballet flats to Keds. I also recently splurged on a Coach purse with 3 different leopard prints on it with a gold chain strap. Of course, I had to buy the matching heels! I have only worn a few times to important & fancy events.
Karen, that top is one I’ve had for several years. However, they have restocked it for the past couple of years once spring rolls around. Maybe it will be back again this year.
but where Tania did you get the first blouse. and brand please? restock maybe where?
your hair in that first picture is beautiful!
thank you
That is a couple of years old. It is by CeCe, and they have restocked it the past few years in the spring.
I love a little pop of leopard print, like a scarf, purse, or shoes.
I have the first blouse you have on. It’s fun to wear. I have some leopard print ballet flats but don’t wear them much as I’ve been wearing flare and boot cut jeans.
Love the animal print shoes!
Animal print is one of my favorite ways to add a pop of fun to an outfit. Great choices!
YES, YES, AND YES!!! I have a ridiculous amount of leopard print! I have loved it for years! Its a joke with my girlfriends… there she goes again! Happy Friday❤❤❤
I love animal prints.
I’m going for the animal prints! A well described update, thank you!
Love the leopard print and the top in the first picture is just my kind of thing with the three-quarter length sleeves. Can you tell me what store that came from??
Pam, it is be CeCe. It’s not in stock right now, however they usually restock again in spring.
Love, love, love, leopard! The first picture is one of my all time favorite outfits you have ever styled.
I love all animal prints!! It adds interest to any outfit!! I had a pair of leopard pumps with a kitten heel that I wore with so much until I wore them out!! Sad day to have to say goodbye to those pumps!! No worries – I have others!! LOL!!
Can you post a link for there’d and white blouse you are wearing?
Gena, that was a blouse I bought from Chico’s last year, and it is no longer on their website.
Love a pop of animal print with an outfit!
Love leopard!! I think it’s a neutral!!
I loved the animal prints especially the leopard. I bought a shirt & a scarf. I have been wearing them a lot & it’s thanks to you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love animal prints but always worry I’m “too old” to wear them!
It’s a classic. You’re not too old. To tell you the truth I rarely see young women in leopard. I see more middle age and older women in it.
love Leppard prints
Thanks for verifying that these prints aren’t out of style yet! Just ordered a few jewelry pieces in animal print.
Love leopard prints! Your post today with the can opener was so appropriate showing your reflection of leopard. ❤
You did a good job showing how to incorporate leopard print.
I must agree with you- I also own a vintage leopard print coat. It is so gorgeous and I love wearing it.
Love it!!!
Thank you for posting about leopard print. It has been my favorite go to netural. it is my signature statement in dressing. it truly is timeless. i also appreciate your scripture posts at the end of your blogs. I am so happy I discovered your blog.
Jennifer in WA.
I’m thrilled you are enjoying the blog!
Leopard prints are timeless! Thanks for showing the many ways to add them to our wardrobe. I often forget about the accessory option!
I love leopard and cheetah prints. They’re classic. I wear them in the winter because I like the natural colors not in bright or pastel colors. I see a lot of outdated stuff especially in department stores that cater toward older women. I think outdated means different things to different people. Personally I think tunics and leggings as pants or skinny jeans are outdated. Yet the majority still wear them where I live. I think nowadays women don’t care about the latest fashion that much.
I love leopard and cheetah print! To me it can be a classic neutral if done right, as you show.
I was wondering of you could please post a link to purchase the 1st blouse listed with the adorable smocking?
thank you!
Susan, I bought that blouse a couple of years ago. It is by CeCe, and they usually restock it again in the spring.
Oh how I love the first blouse, leopard is my favorite! So happy it is back in for 2024!
Yowza! You look like a million in that red and white!!
I love leopard tops and shoes! I agree, always a classic.
I love the top you are wearing that has the “smocked”. look. I may need to get me one of those.
Loved animal print post ,especially the red one!
Love the shirt in the top pic! Details please. Thank you
I have a leopard print scarf, it is going to come out of the closet, Also have a pair of Crocs that my sister, who hates Crocs, complimented? I need a blouse. Love this post, I appreciate you showing what’s in style.
I have always loved this print. I also have several shoes that I just can’t part with. They’re to much fun.
I love leopard print and wear it alot!
I filled out survey. I said perhaps more adventurous styles an your next post hit the spot! Thank you for all the inspiruation.
I love leopard print and you feature it so well in your post today. The blouse in your first photo is so beautiful and feminine with the smocking and ruffles.
I also LOVE me some leopard print—It just makes everything better!!

I might have to try a leopard blouse !
Love all animal print!!!
I like what you showed here. Nicely chosen
It’s great that Joe acknowledged what a great decision maker you are, especially with items that can make your lives easier. I have a leopard print knee length coat that I bought a few years ago, and I still love it.
Love Leopard print tops and shoes. Unfortunately I can’t wear a lot of my shoes anymore that are heels. Accessorizing with a leopard print bracelet and scarf are always my options also.
I have snakeskin print boots, an animal print dress and several animal print scarves. Thanks for a post on animal print!
The red shirt and red shoes look fabulous!!! Love the many ways of wearing but not over doing the print.
Love your blog and read it daily – I would love to take the survey but both yesterday and today when I click on the Survey button it just takes me back to the same page . Is this a problem on my end or is anyone else experiencing this? Maybe you could send me the link?
Sorry you had issues with it. I’ll try to send the link to your email.
Leopard print is one of my favorites! I wear leopard print tops, shoes, and earrings – glad to know I am still fashionable!
Love the shoes! They are so fun! Thank you!
Love the animal print fur coats, so much fun! Have a blessed week.
I love leopard print! It’s definitely a classic style.
Thanks for this post! Animal print is a staple in my closet. Nice to know you feel the same! I don’t over do it but a splash here and there is my motto! LOL Thanks for keeping me up to date! Cindy
😊😊😊
This is a post for me. Lol. I’m a leopard/cheetah print girl. Love them. I am gonna get that first blouse. I tell myself all the time I don’t need more of this. I need to add more color to my wardrobe too. 😀
Love it all, I will be wearing leopard print today!
I agree with you. I love it too!
I love leopard print anything. Yesterday there was a woman (70ish) with leopard print leggings on and a black tank top playing pickle ball. She looked fantastic!
I still love leopard print even though I wore it a lot when I was in my 40’s. I saw an article a few days ago about not dressing old and it said never wear animal print because it screams old. I know this comment will not be posted but it seems like everything is contradictory in fashion. I think everyone should wear what they like and not follow trends and also furnish their homes with what they like and not follow trends. Trends are a form of mass hypnosis. The grey trend was the biggest form of mass hypnosis that people fell prey too I’ve ever seen.
Linda, I’m not saying to dress in trends. I’m saying to stay modern looking, it is nice to incorporate trends into your wardrobe.
Oh my! I just love leopard print items. I will definitely have to order some of these items! Thanks!
Love your leopard coat!
I like leopard especially in a shoe or scarf. Actually any way you wear leopard is good.
Love leopard print tops!
I belong to a group of 4 ladies who get together and we all wear leopard print at least once a month….we call ourselves the “Leppy Ladies!” We always get comments such as one we got in Nee Orleans….Watch out. Here comes the pack!”
Leopard and animal prints are such a great way to add some color to my wardrobe. Especially in winter. I love these tops.
