I had a couple of people comment that I looked like I was losing weight when they saw yesterday’s outfit. We all know that black is slimming, so I am sure that helped with the look. Plus, the pants and my shoes were similar in color, so that helped to elongate my legs, which helps to make you look thinner. But, I’ve also been trying something new this week, and I am hoping to shed the weight that I have gained during COVID. It would also be great to get rid of the extra pounds that are being so stubborn.

Some people love fruits and vegetables. I do enjoy both fruits and vegetables, but I seem to like the ones that are high in sugar, starch, carbohydrates, etc. You know, bananas, corn, potatoes, and all of the other “you can’t eat these” items if you are trying to lose weight. The “you can eat all of these that you want” things, don’t make me jump for joy, but this past week, I’ve embraced them. I’ve only eaten fruits and veggies, and I am sticking to the “you can eat” list. I hate to admit that I am feeling better already. I also started a 7-day cleanse yesterday to try and detox the processed crap out of my system. This year has shown me that I need to take care of my body now more than ever. So, getting healthy is the goal, and losing weight is just the by-product. I am just hoping that by-product goes down by another 15 pounds. Lol!

I wanted to show you a way to wear camo when you don’t like camo. Camouflage clothing has never been my thing. I have a few pieces, but I find that I never seem to pull them out and wear, except for one or two things. However, I just wasn’t seeing the “right” camo pieces for me. I need cute and fashionable, and the army green color is not great with my coloring. Army green looks great on darker complexions and dark hair, but on my fair skin, it makes me look sallow.

This camo v-neck LUXE tee from Old Navy is perfect for me. I love a v-neckline for starters, but it is the pale green, khaki, and purple that makes me happy. The size that I am wearing is a large, and it is a tiny bit big on me through the chest area. But, I wanted the extra room in the midsection because I don’t want it to cling to me there. The t-shirt is extremely soft and flowy, but it isn’t clingy. I liked the tee so much that I went in and ordered a blue one and the army green one. The green might not be my best color, but I wanted to give it a try anyway.

I kept my jewelry simple. Yes, this is simple since it is only a pair of earrings and a choker necklace. Both of these pieces are from Kendra Scott, and they are still available on the website. The AVI large hoop earrings are a statement earring. They are large and visible, but they are not heavyweight. These are getting low in stock, so if you have been considering them, now might be the time to act. I liked them so much that I also have these in gold to go with my outfits, where I need to wear something other than silver. The JAE 5-star choker necklace is super cute and dainty. It fits perfectly in the V of any neckline and is 16″ with a 2″ extender.

I LOVE this color! You could have knocked me over with a feather when these jeans came because I was expecting something different. This is such a soft version of green, and I am now officially obsessed with this color. My jeans are the Girlfriend Ankle Jeans, and I am wearing my usual size .5 in Chico pants. I usually wear a size 10 in other brands, but in Chico’s I will wear a .5, and in Talbots, I wear an 8. Once you get the size down pat for any brand, it makes it easier to order online. I cuffed the hem for a cute casual look, and so show a little ankle. Lol! These are super soft and comfy, and you will be able to wear these all day long no matter what you are doing. They have plenty of give to them, so you don’t feel bound. These jeans also come in a light rose color that I am thinking about trying. I’ll be able to wear these jeans all year round, but I think they will look great come fall.

These canvas no-tie sneakers are a go-to for me this summer. They are so easy to slip on, and they are as light as a feather. I love the neutral tan color of them also since they can be worn with almost anything. The sneakers run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9. They also come in a couple of different colors, including a cute leopard print. Since they are under $23.00, you can treat yourself to several pairs.

Because I love this sage green color so much, I am going to show you some other items in this same color. I think that you will love some of them.

I just love your blogs! I personally don’t wear camo because my son is in the Army (4th gen). I feel it’s disrespectful because he earned the right to wear it. I did not. Your outfit is quite nice though and certainly suits you. I look forward to what you have coming next.

  2. I don’t like camo either. But love your jeans you have on. You are so well dressed all the time.

  3. As a petite, it’s actually hard to find jeans with a 26″ inseam. These are offered in that length and Talbots does, too. I am contemplating purchasing a pair in a blush pink or light rose. I hope you do buy that color because I look forward to seeing your thoughts on styling them–because I’m clueless!

    1. I’m pretty sure that I ordered the pink color, but I order so much, that I can’t be for sure. Lol!!!

  4. Hi Tania, I agree you look like you’ve lost weight. Yesterday’s outfit was very flattering to you. I’m trying to eat healthy as well and would love to know what cleanse your doing. I want to try one but not sure what to do or which one to use.
    Please share the details.
    Cheers to a great weekend!

    1. Thanks, Sandi. It is hard to get healthy and lose weight as we get older. My sister recently did one from Shaklee and loved it so much that she talked me into doing one also. Here is her website if you’re interested in looking at it.

    1. I really like the color of the shirt also. Very feminine, which is hard to do with camo.

  5. WOW! For ONLY 1 week the weight loss or inches lost truly shows and is amazing! I hope you will share with us more details as I feel alot of us are in the same boat! You look great in this outfit, too!
Green is a fav of mine so guess I had better get to Chicos!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the Bible verse so appripo!
Thank you for doing your blog! You are an inspiration!

    1. Thanks, Pam! You know how to make a gurl feel really good!!!

  6. I don’t know why but the green looks grey on my iPad. I love the light camo. .The shoes are great but apparently sold out. I like the flowly look and the Vee neck on the tee. I have gained five. Time to eat plants.

    1. The green is a very pale color and it almost looks like cement.

  7. How ironic that I have on the blue/grey/ v-neck camo shirt from ON today! I am not a camo person either but you see it everywhere and when I saw this blue camo I feel for it. I too do not look good in camo green as it washes me out. The v-neck is a tad bit low but for the price I figured I could wear a tank or something under it as I do feel a bit naked with such an open neckline. Have a great weekend.

    1. I ordered the blue one, and I can’t wait to get it in.

  8. Loved your outfit yesterday & it did make you look slimmer! Today’s outfit is cute.
Love the Bible verse each day

    1. Thanks, Holly! I appreciate you saying that.

  9. My husband and I have been eating whole food plant based for 2 and a half years now. We eat LARGE quantities of starches, potatoes, beans, etc. they do not make you fat. In fact, they keep you healthy and lean and well satisfied. The processed carbs and oil make you fat. As Dr McDougall says, “the fat you eat is the fat you wear”. Check out what Dr. Esselstyn, Dr Barnard, Dr. Gregor, Dr. mcDougall Dr. Klaper have to say about starches and weight loss and especially heart health. ❤️

    1. Just to reply with the other side of the coin. I recommend reading Dr. Ted Naiman and Dr. Will David on the topics of how gluten grains are addictive and why a high sugar content diet provide in excess energy that must be stored. I also would like to mention that the human race did not evolve to consume fake foods. And that plant lectins found in legumes, nightshades and grains were created by the plant to kill its eater.

I am not going to come right out and say eating fake meat substitutes is harmful, but rather to consider our ancestral background and suggest the best way to get rid of stored energy is to burn it off by keeping the body in a fat burning mode. Eat plenty of vegetables, raw and cooked, and grass fed or pastured meats. Avoid bags of sugar, aka fruit because they spike the blood sugar and stop fat burning. One of the most over looked aspects of a keto diet is that if you need to maintain weight and are an athlete you need fat to burn as a fuel source. If on the other hand you are a more or less sedentary post menopausal female with ten or more painfully obvious pounds of adipose tissue you need to limit fat to what’s found in healthy oils and burn what you already have stored. It makes sense to put extra cash in a savings account for an emergency and live on your budget. This was essentially how we are designed to function. The idea though if there’s too much in savings,as adipose tissue, we need to eat that first.

      1. My spell check changed Davis to David. Dr. William Davis is a cardiologist who wrote Wheat Belly.

      2. Amen to all of the above! I have just gotten lazy about what I’ve been eating, and I wanted to do this cleanse. Then, I am off to eating whole foods.

    2. I love Dr. Esselstyn. I’ve not cut out starches and beans, etc., I’ve just cut them out for this week while I am doing the cleanse.

  10. Love the camo on you! And you do look like you’ve lost weight. I’m really struggling to lose the 10 lbs I’ve put on since the pandemic hit. What 7 day cleanse are you doing? I’ve never tried one, but that may help to get things moving in the right direction! Always enjoy your posts!

    1. I did one a long time ago from GNC, but I didn’t notice any difference. My sister recently did one from Shaklee and loved it so much that she talked me into doing one also. Here is her website if you’re interested in looking at it.
