HOW TO WEAR BUFFALO PLAID AND NOT LOOK LIKE A LUMBERJACK

Who has a sister? Is your sister older or younger? For those of you who answered with a yes, and she is my younger sister, let me say that I feel your pride and your pain. My sister is my go-to person when it comes to almost everything. She is the first person that I call when I have technical problems, and she is the one that I cry to when things aren’t going as I would like. But, she is also the one person who can be a thorn in my side, similar to how she acted when we were children.
Back in our younger days, when she opened her mouth, I cringed. I never knew what she was going to say, and she had no filter at all. She is five years younger than me, and she never lets me forget that. Lol! But, I am taller than her, and I never let her forget that because it helps me to appear thinner. We might weigh the same, but on me, it looks different. Of course, it could also be because I am not well endowed in the chest region, so my clothing fits me differently. Well, I woke up on Saturday morning to her telling me to “order this book.” The book was about dieting, so I asked her if ordering the book would make me lose weight. She immediately replied that she was sure that it would. I messaged her back that I had ordered the book, and that I expected the weight to start falling off of me immediately. She told me to start reading and to let her know what I thought. “But, you didn’t say that I had to READ the book, you said that I needed to ORDER the book. Crap, you mean just ordering it won’t make me lose weight?” My text didn’t amuse her, and instead, she sent me this message. “It’s an easy read. Unless you want to change your blog to 50 Pounds Over Weight. .” Sounds to me like she is still saying things that make me cringe!!! Buffalo plaid is still a huge trend, especially at this time of the year. I think the bright red color of the plaid is perfect for the approaching Christmas holidays. Also,  plaid reminds me of the lumberjack on the Brawny towels, and that it is tree cutting time. Lol! Thankfully, the buffalo plaid items that are now in all the stores are more fashionable than the Brawny man. I bought this open-front cardigan last year at Old Navy. I like an open-front cardigan for a couple of reasons. The fact that the cardigan has no buttons makes it easier to wear. You don’t have to stress about whether the cardigan will be “able” to button, and you don’t have to worry if you have lost a button. I hate when I look down and notice that I am missing a button. Sure, you can remove all of the other buttons, but you can’t remove the buttonholes on the other side of the cardigan.

Silver jewelry is what I chose to wear with this outfit. The Gracie necklace is a mini silver ball chain with a silver ball tassel. It is simple and dainty, and it is 31.5″ long. The magnetic silver bracelet with the black crystals is the Essie. The magnetic bracelets are some of my favorites because they are so easy to put on and take off.
Thank heavens for skinny jeans. I love how skinny jeans make your legs look longer and leaner, and they look great with sweaters. Wearing skinny jeans with a bulky sweater helps to balance out the look. You don’t want to let your jeans “bunch” at the top of your boots, so wear the cropped style or roll them up in a cuff. Instead, try to let your jeans skim the top of your boots. I bought this pair of raw hem jeans back in the spring from Old Navy, and they are no longer on the website.

I have several pairs of black ankle boots because they can be worn in so many different ways. Ankle boots look great with jeans, pants, and even skirts and dresses. This black pair by Marc Fisher is a pair that I call my “moto” boot. I love the “bad girl” attitude that these boots give off. I may not be a bad girl, but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn once upon a time. Lol! Motorcycle jackets and boots are about attitude. They a cool, just ask the Fonz! So, if you decide to wear a moto jacket or a pair of boots like these, remember that you also have to have a Fonzie attitude. Aaaaay!

BTW, I know that some of you might be wondering which coat I ended up keeping, so here is your answer: Yep, I couldn’t pass up the two coats for the price of one deal since it was reversible. They are calling for snow later on today, so maybe I will be able to break it out and wear it again.
