HOW TO WEAR BRIGHT COLORS ALL YEAR LONG

You are looking at one tired pony. I am finally home again back in Virginia and I was thrilled to sleep in my own bed. It might take me a couple of days to adjust back into a routine though. Not only have I been on the road which threw my routine off but the time changed also and that always messes with me. I thought the extra hour of sleep would help me with my trip back home but I yawned the entire time that I was writing this post last night. Lol! It is easier to adjust to the time change in the fall than it is in the spring when we lose an hour of sleep. I think the part about the changing of time in the fall that always bothered me the most was the fact that it gets dark so early. There were times when I would get off work at 5:30 or 6:00 and it was already dark. I just don’t want to go or do anything once it gets dark. Dang, that last statement sure sounded like an old person. Lol! The younger generation could care less is it is dark outside, but as we age that is more of a concern. Am I the only way who feels this way or do any of you feel like that too? I needed a punch of color to brighten my day. Color makes me feel happy and I use it a lot if it is dark and gloomy outside. I know a lot of people think that bright pink is a summer color but I think that you can wear it all year long. In fact, I think that you SHOULD wear colors all year long. Pink goes great with black and I wanted to show all of you ladies who love wearing your black clothing how easy it is to add some color to the look. My cardigan is an old one and I am surprised at how good it looks since I wear it so much.

If a little color is good then a lot of color is GREAT! Lol! I thought that I might try a little pattern matching with a bright and colorful scarf for an accessory instead of wearing a necklace or jewelry. I only added the small Channing black drop tassel earrings. With this much color, I didn’t think that jewelry would be able to be seen. My handbag is old too. You might notice that I own a lot of clothing and that is because I keep my items for years. Clothing cost money and I want to make sure that I get my monies worth out of the item. Even when I am finished with an item (usually because I have outgrown it) I will give it away to someone who can get even more wear out of it. A nice black handbag should be in everyone’s wardrobe. If you only own a black and a brown purse then you can make that work all year long. I like a little more variety in my handbags though and I actually have several new ones that I will be showing you very soon. You won’t want to miss these so be sure to check out the blog daily.

This cute black and white check sleeveless top is new. I bought this the other day off of the clearance rack at Walmart for $5.00!!! I don’t buy clothing from Walmart very often except for pajamas. I hardly ever see anything that catches my eye but as I was walking past the rack I spotted this top and it was my size. I broke into a rendition of, “Oh Happy Day” when I saw the price. Lol! When you find items at that price you don’t have to make them last forever to get your value from them. I have already worn it once so I feel like every time after this will just be an added bonus. I found one at Old Navy that is checked and then these two below that are similar.
