How To Wear Black For The Holidays And More
Black is not my go-to color, but I’ve embraced it this year. Black can be too harsh against my skin, so I usually add color around my face to brighten my look. These gorgeous outfits from Nordstrom are ones I can wear for the holidays and later this winter. Today, I’m showing you how to wear black for the holidays and more.
How To Wear Black For The Holidays – A Black Velvet Blazer
I hate to spend money on clothing and only be able to wear it for a short time. Versatile clothing that can be worn in multiple ways is how I am able to stretch my dollars and make sure I get my money’s worth.
There are certain fabrics that look classy, and satin is one of them. I grabbed this Ivory Satin Button-Up Shirt because it can be dressed up for the holidays or worn casually for an elevated look. Ivory is a great neutral that can be worn with anything, and I love wearing satin with jeans. This shirt is long and could be worn with leggings also.
I have been eyeing this Tory Burch Ella Patent Nylon Tote for a long time. I love the nylon tote because it isn’t as heavy as a lot of my leather handbags. This is the large size, so it has plenty of room for everything I need to keep close at hand. There is a smaller version, and it is a great medium tote.
This black Relaxed Velvet Blazer is perfect for the holidays. Velvet is luxurious and looks great dressed up or down. I love this black velvet blazer because it is lightweight and relaxed. It isn’t stiff like a lot of my velvet blazers and is comfortable as well as CHIC. The blazer has sold out in several sizes, so I’ll link to some similar ones.
How To Wear Black For The Holidays With Metallics
Let’s talk about the icing on the cake. It doesn’t matter how gorgeous your outfit is; unless you are wearing jewelry, it is incomplete. Today I’m wearing jewelry that I’ve been wearing for years and will wear for years to come. Jewelry can be an investment, so I add a piece or two a year. The Beaded Hoop Earrings are simple with small beads for a nice detail. The Crossover Mini Pendant Necklace with 18K Yellow Gold is a fairly new gift that was an Anniversary present. I love my Michele Deco Mid Diamond Dial Bracelet Watch that I bought a couple of years ago during a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I wear it almost every time I dress up. Finally, my Cable Loop Bracelet with 18K Gold was a gift, and I love the look and how easy it is to put on and take off.
A satin shirt might not be your style, so I switched it out for this Metallic V-Neck Sweater. I love the casual look of the sweater, but since it has metallic threads throughout, it’s perfect for the holidays. I’m wearing a medium, but I could probably wear a small since it is a little oversized.
Adding the metallic sweater to the black velvet blazer is perfect for the holidays. All of the pieces in this outfit can be worn for the holidays and for the rest of the winter.
The Brahmin Croc Embossed Leather Satchel was a Valentine’s Day present to me from my husband. Of course, he had no idea he had bought it. Lol! He was thrilled when he found out he didn’t have to buy me anything since I had already bought my gift. I still love this bag, and I’m thinking he might buy me another one for Christmas. Haha!

I’ve tried many different wide-leg pants in the last two years. I liked several of them, but I wasn’t completely in love with them. NYDJ is known for how their jeans fit a woman’s body, and I’m impressed with this pair. I love the wide-leg look on me for the first time, so you’ll be seeing these jeans a lot in the future.
How To Wear Black For The Holidays – A Black Jumpsuit
The first two outfits were elevated, but casual. When I think about dressing for the holidays, I always imagine myself going to a fancy holiday party. Imagining is all I do since I’ve never gone to a fancy party. But, if this is the year, I’ll be prepared with this Black Long Sleeve Jumpsuit.
This one-and-done outfit is GORGEOUS! The jumpsuit looks and feels fabulous, and I would probably add a faux fur jacket or wrap for extra glamour.
I love shopping at Nordstrom because they offer a wide range of products from a variety of brands. And they carry high-end luxury and designer brands, as well as more affordable options. This makes it easy for everyone to find something within their budget range.
Nordstrom is known for its excellent customer service, and they offer free shipping and free returns; it is super convenient. I love trying on clothing in the privacy of my home, but I hate paying for shipping and returns. That is one reason I love shopping at Nordstrom; trying new clothing styles never costs me anything. Nordstrom offers BOPUS (Buy Online Pick Up in Store) and contactless curbside pickup options.
Nordstrom sponsors this post, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.

The velvet jacket and the metallic top are beautiful. What a great picture of Tom.
Love the velvet blazer! So versatile for winter!
I love the black jumpsuit! It is elegant and priced well. I would purchase the black jumpsuit; however, green is also an option.
A blazer, jeans, and button down shirt is such a classy look. I don’t own a velvet blazer but this makes me want one. Have a super day, and stay warm!
Love that blazer! After seeing the outfit suggestions on the Nordstrom’s website, they ought to hire you to put outfits together!! Yours are 110% better than Nordstrom’s! Jumpsuits are an intriguing idea. Don’t tell anyone, but it’s the “getting out of it to go to the bathroom” that worries me 🤦♀️ 50 is definitely not old, but mid-to-late 60s brings some bladder concerns that are such fun! 🤔🥹
Oh wow! I love those jeans AND the jumpsuit!! I need to go shopping now! 🙂
I love the velvet blazer!
Looks like the velvet blazer is sold out. I’ve never invested in a velvet blazer but it’s such a classic piece that I just might if I can find one. I love the black or also a navy blue would be nice to have. That jumpsuit looks great on you, even with it being an all-black look. I get what you say about black looking harsh as we age. I used to wear black next to my face but now I feel it just shows my imperfections (aka wrinkles) even more. Need a bright color in between the black and my fair skin.
Love the velvet blazer!!
I love that blazer. Actually I love the total look. Thanks for always choosing such versatile pieces. Merry Merry!
Merry Merry! ❤️❤️❤️
