HOW TO WEAR BLACK AND WHITE WITH COLOR
WOW! We had horrible winds march through our area yesterday! I sure was glad that Joe wasn’t out trying to fly in that weather. Lol! My windchimes sure sounded beautiful, but my umbrellas on my patio didn’t fare very well. They weren’t open, (I am not that crazy) but the wind still managed to get underneath them and open them up partially. One of them is now laying on my fence, and it looks like it was turned inside out. The other one is now bent in half. My son and daughter-in-law were afraid that the one was going to fly over the fence, so they came running to try and move it somewhere. Her car sits on the other side of the fence, and they wanted to make sure that they didn’t end up on one of those insurance commercials that shows a car with an umbrella through the windshield. Lol!
Before the winds kicked up, Joe and I sat on the couch and watched TV. That NEVER happens at our house. Usually, the television is never turned on unless Emersyn is visiting. She was over, but she was doing watercolors in the kitchen, and Joe and I were the ones watching the television. The finals of the Masters was on, and we wanted to see if Tiger Woods could pull it out and win after a long, long drought. I am talking golf in case you have no idea who or what we were watching. Tiger Woods last major championship win was in 2008, so it had been eleven very long years since he had gotten to go to the winner’s circle. I was tickled that Joe and I watched him win. It was wonderful seeing all of the emotions that he was feeling, and the fact that his mother was there to celebrate with him was the cherry on top!
This cute black and white striped top just came in while I was in Mexico. I couldn’t wait to put it on the blog for all of you to see. I love the flutter sleeve, and the material which is rayon, feels so silky. You know that I have been in a black and white craze lately, so when I saw this top on Target’s website, I ordered it in immediately. I also ordered a bunch of other things that didn’t fit, so I sent all of them back and reordered them again. That is one of the downfalls of ordering online, but when you live in the boondocks, you do what you have to do. This top is by A New Day, one of my favorite brands at Target, and I am wearing a large. I have n idea why I ordered mediums on the rest of the items. I must have been feeling thinner that day. Lol! Today, I am choosing to BELIEVE. I love mantra jewelry, and this necklace is one of my favorites. I bought this years ago on the square in Marietta Georgia. The charm is by a company called Monarch Inspirations. I used to be able to find some of their items on Amazon, but I didn’t see any on there today. I also like Alex and Ani for mantra jewelry, and Etsy is another great place to find unique items.
I love my Michael Kors white loafers. This is becoming one of my favorite shoe brands. Every pair that I have from Michael Kors is comfortable and great quality. I am constantly on the lookout for cute flats that can be comfortable and stylish. This pair does both with ease!
Just because I am wearing black and white, does not mean that I ONLY have to wear black or white. Today, I am pairing my black and white top with a pair of Old Navy jeans in a light purple color. I don’t love this pairing, but I don’t hate the pairing either. I know that I am going to regret this…but what do you think of the purple and black and white being worn together? Lol!
I hope that you have your taxes filed, in case you forgot, today is TAX DAY! I filed my taxes on Friday, that is the first time in forever that we have had them filed on time!

This is a fun look – an out of the box. The lines of the top are flattering and the lilac pants are springy. Fun, Fun!
I usually love all your outfits however this does NOTHING for you. I think it’s the flutter sleeves The purple pants are cute though. Just my opinion : )
I am glad someone else said it first, I don’t love this combination either. I don’t think it is hideous or anything, but it isn’t something I would choose. I see from the comments I am in the minority, so I’m glad others found it more pleasing and were inspired! Top is super cute!
Hi Tania, We have the same wind/umbrella problem here in Arizona and have lost quite a few until I started laying them down (still in the holder) at the first sign of a windy day. A photo came up on FB from 3 years ago of an umbrella standing straight up in its holder in the Pool! We had to heat the pool up to both go in and lug the darned thing out!
I like MK shoes too, especially the one with a chunky heel with a strap around the ankle and one across the toes. The salesgirl at a MK store said she wears them all day, which I put down to the fact that she was in her 20s, but I was surprised that she was right about them! I have white and black and am thinking about the luggage color.

I guess someone has to be the first, and I’m only commenting because you asked! It may be because I’m Type A with a touch of OCD but I don’t like the look. Separately I love the top and pants, but together I don’t. Please don’t boot me from the group!!!
