HOW TO WEAR A MAXI SKIRT AND NOT LOOK FRUMPY

This old dog has to learn a new trick. That seems to be what I have said over and over again since I started blogging. If you want to do something that will constantly challenge your mind, and make you learn new technology, then I recommend blogging. There is one thing that I can count on; it will constantly be changing.

This past weekend, I took the time to switch from the classic editor to the block editor on WordPress. It sounds simple enough, but EVERYTHING is different. I have had to do a Google search more than once, and I’ll probably be doing more searches over the next month. It isn’t like I have a choice since WordPress is phasing out the classic editor. So, kicking and screaming, block editor, here I come.

This is a simple, easy/peasy outfit, but I think it looks comfortable and stylish. The outfit started with a white v-neck Wearever Tee from J Jills. J.Jill calls this the Perfect V-neck Tee, and I have to agree with them. The weight of the material is superb, the fit is fabulous, and I love the length of the tee. Honestly, the only con that I have is that it is a little on the expensive side. Do I think that it is worth it? That all depends on how often you would wear the tee. Do you need a wrinkle-free material, and does your budget allow for the expense? There are many other v-neck tees out there, but this one is definitely one of the nicest. I am wearing a medium.

The star of this outfit is this beautiful palm print scarf. This soft and lightweight palm print scarf is wide enough that you can wear it as a wrap over your shoulders, and it would be great to wear with sleeveless tops. I LOVE the look! Wearing this scarf in the summer isn’t an issue since they added linen to the material, which keeps it light and airy.

This Rayon Gauze tiered maxi skirt is so summery looking. I love this skirt’s flowy, breezy style, and the muted blue color looks great with the scarf. I think it would have looked better with the top tucked in, but I wasn’t about to show that after the large lunch that I ate. Lol! I am wearing a medium in the skirt, but a large would have been better. The skirt is all sold out, but you can get on an email list to be notified when it goes back in stock.

I have worn these navy buckle Gia sandals all summer long. I love the rattan buckle and the slide-on style of the sandals. These are so comfortable, and they will go with almost any summer outfit. They look great with shorts and jeans as well as dresses and skirts. I am wearing my usual size 9, so I think they run tts.

Because of the scarf, I didn’t add any jewelry other than the large hoop earrings that I wear all of the time. These earrings are a tad expensive, and I struggled with placing the order when I bought them. But, I’ve worn them so much that it is only pennies per wear, so I think that I’ve gotten my monies worth out of them.

These earrings are large but not heavy. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to wear them, but I don’t even notice them at all.

Good luck with the behind the scene changes that you are having to make! This is a great outfit and the scarf looks fabulous with it. It is a beautiful accessory. Lands End is a great place to check for high quality, but more reasonably priced tees.

    1. I used to shop at Lands End occasionally, but it has been a long time.

I don’t know if something has gone wrong or the operator (me) is crazy but I can’t get the darn close and accept bar to disappear. Maybe it’s me but it is so annoying! I love your newsletters and all of your amazing clothes choices! Thanks for doing what you do!

    1. I’m having the exact same problem.

    2. Pam, what type of device are you using? I think it depends on what you use.

  4. I’ll bet it would look cute with the long scarf as a belt too! Thanks for your hard work putting out the blog every day. I look forward to reading it each morning because it is uplifting and encouraging. Also, the scripture is usually right on target for me!

  5. Wow, it is great to see a maxi skirt that is not worn by someone who is built like a 6ft super model! Great outfit, thanks for this post!

    1. Lol! Nope, I’m not built like a super model. Haha!

  6. Pulled your post at 7:43 ET so your scheduler worked. The Mark 11:24 text was missing though. Lovely outfit!

    1. Actually, the link didn’t work, but I fixed it around 6:00 am. I also had to go and fix a new scripture because that didn’t work either.

  7. Thank you for showing jjill. I love their clothes. They aren’t available here in Canada but whenever I’m near one when travelling in US (which hasn’t happened since covid)…I’m there. Yes they are a tad pricey but the quality. They are amazing for travelling and some real basic quality pieces.

    1. I love J Jill also, and they have fabulous clothing. I think the quality is excellent also.
