HOW TO USE A SCARF AS A BELT AND A WRAP
I had one of “those” kind of days. I do a lot of self-development books, I listen to them on Audible. I am constantly trying to improve myself and others. I love so many of them and I will try to compose a list of some of my favorites for you in the coming days. But, I am always on the run. I sometimes feel like the hamster that you see going round and round on the wheel but never really going anywhere.
It seems like everywhere I turn that I am getting the message to “slow my roll.” Lol! It started with a Podcast that I have been listening to which talks about STRIVING versus STRIDING. I am always in the striving mode, pushing and pushing and pushing. I plot and calculate and try to make things happen and fall into place instead of just sitting back and enjoying the journey. I should be striding, (taking a long and deliberate step) instead of always being in a run. Truthfully, that goes against every fiber of my being. I am impatient and I am also a control freak. Then, I listened to a video today and guess what it was talking about? Yep! It was on the very same subject. I am a big believer in listening to what I am being led to do. Whew! Going slow is not something that is going to be easy for me. I am probably the only person that you know that might have a breakdown from trying to slow down and smell the roses. How many of you are natured like me? I just want some reassurance that I am not the only person out there like this.
I am loving this high neck maxi dress by Lush. However, I am debating on whether to keep it or send it back and get the cobalt blue version. I LOVE blue and I think that blue is a flattering color for me. But, I already own a ton of blue items so I thought I would branch out. This is a super cute dress and a great price point. The only drawback that I can find is that it says dry clean only. It is 95% Rayon and 5% Spandex so I am confused why it would have to be dry cleaned. This was in my latest Trunk Club shipment and it had a lot of really cute items this time. I love not having to go shopping and I love being able to try the items in the comfort of my own home. I told my stylist that I was going to be attending a bachelorette party in Florida next week. She scheduled my shipment early and tailored my order for that event. If that sound like something you would be interested in then go here to sign up.
I added a few of my newer Plunder Design jewelry pieces today. The Kaitlyn necklace is one that I just got in this week. That was perfect timing because I think it looks great with this dress. It is a shorter necklace at only 17 to 20 inches. I chose to also add the Tegan earrings which came in on the same shipment. They are a seafoam green color which went with the scarf that I added. They are smaller also with only a 1.5″ drop. The last thing that I added was the Bailey bracelet which is melon and turquoise. I love how Plunder Jewelry mixes and matches really well. I have had this bracelet for a long time but it matches the Kaitlyn necklace almost perfectly. I saw a LOT of you have already taken advantage of the Plunder Mania savings that are being offered. Things are selling out quickly so be sure to check that out! Just remember to pick a party with my name in it first.
I bought this beautifully embroidered clutch when I was in Cancun, Mexico back in April. Let me change that, JOE bought this for me which was a surprise. We each buy what we want but hardly ever buy for each other. It is just simpler to buy what we want than to hope that the other one buys something for us. He saw that I liked it but I didn’t have my wallet with me so I left and he bought it for me. It never even occurred to me to ask him if he had money with him. Lol! I like that it has so many beautiful colors and that it will go with almost anything.

I LOVE, Love, love this color on you!! Even before I read your blog, I thought that color is sooooo good on you! Hope you keep the dress. The scarf is lovely too.
I kept seeing sayings/etc regarding taking chances and stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things. That is what finally pushed me to start my blog! Love the dress and scarf!
Keep the dress, it is a change from regular blue. I think that blue green color flatters everyone. I regard to washing instead of dry cleaning, I tried washing a dress with much the same materials and unfortunately even though I washed in cold water and hung it to dry, it shrank. It was weird because the lining of the dress didn’t shrink. Live and learn I guess!
I think you and the dress make a fabulous duo. I think the color looks great on you. Anxious to see what you decide.
I think since you have a lot of blue and look great in it, keep the aqua, because you also look great in that color, and haven’t seen you in that color as much! It is like the aqua colored seas, a glorious color!
Where did you get the scarf? It’s beautiful!
Love the dress and that color! And I LOVE that clutch!!! I am not a hamster though it seems like I spin my wheels some trying to get things done. But I can relax too.
Definitely keep the dress! Perfect color. 🙂 Like you, I tend to strive instead of stride. A good lesson to learn.
WOW, you look so pretty in this. I love the entire ensemble. The clutch is so vibrant and goes perfectly with everything. I’ve whined about my broken ankle, but anywho, the part that makes me crazier than anything is I’m a go-getter that likes to do my own thing, without anybody’s help. God has a way of humbling us, huh? And slowing us down. God is in control and that’s all there is to it, and I’m glad 😀
