50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO USE A SCARF AS A BELT AND A WRAP | FASHION OVER 40I had one of “those” kind of days. I do a lot of self-development books, I listen to them on Audible. I am constantly trying to improve myself and others. I love so many of them and I will try to compose a list of some of my favorites for you in the coming days. But, I am always on the run. I sometimes feel like the hamster that you see going round and round on the wheel but never really going anywhere.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO USE A SCARF AS A BELT AND A WRAP | FASHION OVER 40 It seems like everywhere I turn that I am getting the message to “slow my roll.” Lol! It started with a Podcast that I have been listening to which talks about STRIVING versus STRIDING. I am always in the striving mode, pushing and pushing and pushing. I plot and calculate and try to make things happen and fall into place instead of just sitting back and enjoying the journey. I should be striding, (taking a long and deliberate step) instead of always being in a run. Truthfully, that goes against every fiber of my being. I am impatient and I am also a control freak. Then, I listened to a video today and guess what it was talking about? Yep! It was on the very same subject. I am a big believer in listening to what I am being led to do. Whew! Going slow is not something that is going to be easy for me. I am probably the only person that you know that might have a breakdown from trying to slow down and smell the roses. How many of you are natured like me? I just want some reassurance that I am not the only person out there like this.50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO USE A SCARF AS A BELT AND A WRAP | FASHION OVER 40 I am loving this high neck maxi dress by Lush. However, I am debating on whether to keep it or send it back and get the cobalt blue version. I LOVE blue and I think that blue is a flattering color for me. But, I already own a ton of blue items so I thought I would branch out. This is a super cute dress and a great price point. The only drawback that I can find is that it says dry clean only. It is 95% Rayon and 5% Spandex so I am confused why it would have to be dry cleaned. This was in my latest Trunk Club shipment and it had a lot of really cute items this time. I love not having to go shopping and I love being able to try the items in the comfort of my own home. I told my stylist that I was going to be attending a bachelorette party in Florida next week. She scheduled my shipment early and tailored my order for that event. If that sound like something you would be interested in then go here to sign up.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO USE A SCARF AS A BELT AND A WRAP | FASHION OVER 40I added a few of my newer Plunder Design jewelry pieces today. The Kaitlyn necklace is one that I just got in this week. That was perfect timing because I think it looks great with this dress. It is a shorter necklace at only 17 to 20 inches. I chose to also add the Tegan earrings which came in on the same shipment. They are a seafoam green color which went with the scarf that I added. They are smaller also with only a 1.5″ drop. The last thing that I added was the Bailey bracelet which is melon and turquoise. I love how Plunder Jewelry mixes and matches really well. I have had this bracelet for a long time but it matches the Kaitlyn necklace almost perfectly. I saw a LOT of you have already taken advantage of the Plunder Mania savings that are being offered. Things are selling out quickly so be sure to check that out! Just remember to pick a party with my name in it first.  50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO USE A SCARF AS A BELT AND A WRAP | FASHION OVER 40 I bought this beautifully embroidered clutch when I was in Cancun, Mexico back in April. Let me change that, JOE bought this for me which was a surprise. We each buy what we want but hardly ever buy for each other. It is just simpler to buy what we want than to hope that the other one buys something for us. He saw that I liked it but I didn’t have my wallet with me so I left and he bought it for me. It never even occurred to me to ask him if he had money with him. Lol! I like that it has so many beautiful colors and that it will go with almost anything.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO USE A SCARF AS A BELT AND A WRAP | FASHION OVER 40I added a scarf as a belt but I also used it as a wrap. A scarf is very versatile and truly adds so much to an outfit. You could even start out by wearing it as a belt and as the night progresses you could then use it as a wrap. The nights are starting to get chilly and this light scarf would be just perfect to knock off that chill.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO USE A SCARF AS A BELT AND A WRAP | FASHION OVER 40Let me know what you think about the dress. Keep or exchange for the blue one? Also, let me know if any of you out there are hamsters like me. Lol!!!

Oh my, I am jealous of you today, for you will be the Belle of the Ball at your bachelorette party in that outfit! It is stunning on you and that scarf adds so much! The dress is super flattering and that jewelry is perfect w it! You are gorgeous, even if a hamster on a wheel! I used to be like you, but retirement has taught me to smell the roses!

  2. KEEP THE DRESS! It is so beautiful on you! Love the style and color. And yes please, a list of books would be great. I read “Girl Wash Your Face” as you suggested. It’s one of my favorites now!

Tania I love the dress. Keep this color it is very flattering. Remember when you retired? Retired means not working as hard and learning how to relax and enjoy. You are such a busy woman but need to stop and smell the roses. If you want to take a day to yourself everything will still be there tomorrow. Enjoy this time. It has to be so nice not having to get up every morning and go to the office. Let yourself enjoy it. I can’t wait for my day!

  4. You look stunning!
I’m striving to find the right words to ask – what bra
do you wear/recommend for strapless or off the shoulder tops?
    Thanks , Tania

  5. Definitely keep the dress! Love the color and it’s good to branch out when you get the chance. I’m older than you are and implore you to slow down, Honey. The years pass way too quickly! Enjoy the moment.

  7. Striving vs Striding – what I needed to hear today! I like the color of this dress on you but the cobalt would also be pretty

  9. Karen from Como says:

    Keep it. You look stunning!

  10. Lovely, just lovely. This color looks great on you and the style & cut is perfect. I’d keep this one. I’d like to have myself. I too have trouble enjoying the journey and seem to race to some unknown finish line because I never get there. When I saw this happening with my daughter it made me pause and I’m trying to show her how to enjoy her journey and not worry about getting to “that perfect place”. It’s not always easy.
