HOW TO LOOK CASUAL AND PUT TOGETHER
I swear, everyone needs to keep their grandkids every so often. They are great for keeping you entertained, and you never know what they will say. Since it was Friday night and there wasn’t going to be school the next day, Emersyn came over to visit with Ashleigh, Joe, and me. The first thing that she did was go to my bathroom to put on some makeup. I went through all of my makeup this past week, and I made a drawer just for her with lots and lots of makeup and brushes. She was thrilled and came through with a full face of makeup.
After that, she played a game of truth or dare with Ashleigh, which was hilarious. One of Emersyn’s dares was for her to go into the computer room and give Joe a big hug and tell him how much she loved him. Then Ashleigh told Emersyn that she would draw a scary face on her belly. She told Emersyn that it would scare her mother when she got ready to take a bath. Emersyn said, “my mother is not afraid of anything. She’s not even afraid of a Daddy Longlegs.” LOL! Then, she and Ashleigh did rock, paper, scissors, and the loser had to run around the kitchen for 50 laps. Emersyn lost, and she set out running her laps. I made her quit after 20 laps, and she was so mad that she pouted for five minutes. LOL! The night is still young; there is no telling what else will happen before morning.
This tie-front cardigan is so soft that you will not want to take it off. I am one of those people who have to have soft items to wear, and this one is perfect. This tie cardigan makes a plain white t-shirt and jeans look chic and stylish. I think the outfit is on the casual side, but the addition of the cardigan makes it look “put together.” I also like that the top is machine washable, that is another “must-have” for me. I am wearing a size 1 in a neutral color, but there are three other colors available.
I thought that you might like to see how long the cardigan is in the back. The length is around the hipline, and as you can see, the top has a relaxed fit. The sleeves are a 3/4 length, and that makes it perfect for wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt or turtleneck. The long-sleeve t-shirt that I am wearing is one that I bought from Walmart. It is the CoolDri Performance tee from Hanes, and I bought it to wear when I go walking. But, there isn’t any reason that I can’t wear the t-shirt for other things also. I am wearing a large in the shirt, and here is the link.
These flare jeans by Leith are some of my favorite jeans. I bought these last year, and they fit so good. This is the only pair of jeans that I have bought from this brand, but I think that I will buy another pair just to see if I like them as much. Jeans are one of the hardest things for me to find that fit me well. So, once I find a brand that I like, I tend to buy several pairs from them.
The ankle boots are by Sam Edelman. These modern bootie features a sharp pointy-toe silhouette and logo hardware at the belted strap, and they are very stylish. I was on the fence with these booties, and I couldn’t decide if I wanted to keep them or return them. But, this outfit has convinced me to keep these shoes because I love the look with these jeans. The fact that they are on sale for 55% off didn’t hurt either. Lol! I am wearing my usual size 9, but any time that you wear a pointy-toe, they will feel tight at the toe. If you are worried about the size, then you might want to go up a half of a size.

I absolutely love this entire outfit. I typically only wear skinny jeans but these make me want to buy a pair of flare leg jeans.
Tania, I ask yesterday if you knew if you are a spring season? Love your hair color and style. Pat
No, Pat, I have never had my colors done.
I really love the outfit and I am thinking of purchasing it. Not sure where I would wear it but it is lovely on you.
This type of third layer piece is so great to have. It is so easy to finish a look to run out to the grocery store or just to visit friends. I’m going to check colors but I usually end up with a neutral color.
Love this outfit! I’m so happy to see boot cut jeans—wish more bloggers would feature them. I know they’re back in style and are so flattering for most figures!
LOVE this outfit!!
You always look great!! The jeans are very flattering! And I love the heeled booties!
Love this outfit! So me! Happy Saturday ?
These jeans look amazing on you. Thanks for showing the back. Please show the back (and side view) of outfits more, it’s nice to see the fit.
I’ll try to do it if I can remember. Lol!
Love this outfit! Might have to order sweater. Necklace is adorable! Is it Brighton?
Lori, the sweater is awesome. I am having to fight my daughter to keep her from taking it. Lol! The necklace is Plunder, but it is sold out.
I love when you tell us if something is soft -as I have aged, the skin on my arms and torso has become very sensitive.
Also, love your sharing – always makes me chuckle! Have a wonderful weekend with your family.
Ava, I go through a store “feeling” of clothing as well as searching for colors or prints. I want it to feel good when I touch it.
Still rockin’ in those jeans.
Thanks, JoAnn. They are a favorite!
