I love classic clothing! I also love taking classic clothing and pairing them with modern items to create a unique and sassy look. When you learn to mix and match classics with modern pieces, then your wardrobe will feel like it explodes. The possibility for new outfits are endless, but you have to be willing to stop wearing the same things in the same way.

One of my favorite things to wear is jeans with pearls. Pearls are a classic jewelry item, and they are usually reserved for a dressy occasion. Jeans are actually a classic clothing item, but they are normally associated with a casual and relaxed look. Today’s outfit has a modern approach to the classics making it the best of both worlds.

A tweed blazer is a classic item that I love! This tweed blazer has fringe trim that updates the look and adds a modern touch. I love how the fringe outlines the entire jacket, including the pockets and placket. The goldtone buttons on the pockets are an elegant touch, and I loved how they looked with the added pearl necklace. I am wearing a size 1 in this blazer, which fits great, but if you want to wear a sweater under the blazer, I would suggest sizing up.

This photo lets you see the blazer colors better since you can see the subtle gold thread that runs throughout the blazer. This convertible faux-pearl necklace is one that you NEED! Did you see the word convertible in that sentence? Each piece of this necklace can be removed and worn separately. That gives you so many options on how to wear this necklace. I love versatility, and this necklace is one that you will be able to wear over and over again. The unique clasp lets you unclasp a strand or change out a strand. This is fast becoming my favorite pearl necklace! I even bought a shorter double-strand faux pearl necklace that is also convertible to add in with this necklace to get a Coco Chanel look.

The necklace makes quite a statement, so I went with a simple faux-pearl stud earring with this outfit. What I love about these simple stud earrings is the fact that they are a clip-on design. I realize that some don’t have their ears pierced, and there are not a lot of stores that carry clip-on earrings. Thanks to Chico’s, you aren’t left behind when it comes to fashionable earrings.

The Girlfriend style jean is my favorite! I love the semi-loose fit that isn’t baggy looking and gives a wonderful silhouette. The slight distressing and raw hem on these Girlfriend Ankle jeans give them a modern and edgy style that is still chic looking. I am wearing a size .5 in these jeans, and they fit me perfectly. I normally wear a size 10 in other brands, but I have found that I need to size down when purchasing Chico’s clothing,

Here is a better look at the hem of the jeans, and the distressing will only get better with repeated washing. Pairing the jeans with high heels and pearls is a wonderful twist on distressed and dressy clothing, and I love the effect.

My husband has always said that I am a mixture of classic and sassy. So, when I get dressed, I conjure up Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe in my mind. What is YOUR style, and who do you see in your mind when you get dressed?

I appreciate Chico’s for sponsoring this post and allowing me to tell all of my friends about their beautiful and unique clothing line.

I love pearls, but always seem to reserve mine for the dressiest of outfits which means they don’t get worn much in today’s casual world. Thanks so much for bringing out your pearls and jeans. I love the look you gave us today. I’m anxious to copy you.

  3. I love this look and at age 59 just discovered Chico’s. Once I figured out their sizing I was hooked. I was actually in the store today ☺️

  4. My style is casual with a touch of boho. Here on the outskirts of Las Vegas Blvd., it’s unusual to see a woman dressed up. Because of the climate, It’s common to see women wearing leggings, jeans, shorts, hoodies, sweatshirts, denim jackets, tanks, tees, sandals, flats, sneakers and booties. Having said that, though, I love your well-rounded blog, and you present so many different styles, as well as tips, ideas and solutions that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Plus, you’re so funny.

I have similar jeans, top, and shoes and just ordered the necklace (sold by the versatility of the “convertible” style). Can’t wait to get my necklace so I can start wearing my new Tania outfit!
