HOW TO ACCESSORIZE WITH A SCARF
As you can see from the background, it is beautiful and sunny here at the beach. The temperature was around the mid 50’s today, so it was still chilly enough to wear a sweater or a light jacket. Joe played golf yesterday, and I went shopping at the Tanger Outlets down the street. I dropped him off at the golf course, and then I picked him up once he was finished golfing.
I am always amazed at how some people can be jerks. The other day, Joe wanted to take an older car that we have and leave it at the airport so that there would be something to drive around if he flew in. We didn’t know where he was supposed to leave the car, so he was driving, and I was following him. We were the only people on that road when Joe decided that we were in the wrong spot. He did a U-turn to head back the other direction, so I did the same thing. The problem was…it was a one-way road, but we didn’t know that at the time. It was only about 100-150 feet to the turnoff that he was looking for, and he pulled off once he reached it. HOWEVER, traffic started coming toward me before I could get to the turnoff. There was plenty of time for the oncoming car to stop, and I started immediately apologizing once I realized what had happened. You all know the gestures you do when you know you are in the wrong and you are sorry. The dude was not having it. He kept yelling; and, even after I had pulled out of his way, he honked the horn over and over again. Joe had already stopped his car and was walking back to me when the guy honked again. Joe gestured right back to him in a non-apologetic way before the guy decided to continue on his way and quit holding up the traffic behind him.
I am not sure what exactly he was trying to accomplish. I knew that I was in the wrong, but it isn’t like you get a do-over, and everything resets. Did he accomplish anything by acting hateful? NO! Was he ever in any danger of being hit? NO, there was a lot of time for him to stop. The only thing that he experienced was a short delay, like 5 seconds, for me to turn off. Am I wrong in thinking that he was going overboard?
After we dropped the car off in the correct area, Joe thought that he better take me to lunch after getting me cussed at by a stranger. Lol! We went to our favorite place to eat, California Dreaming, and then he took my pictures. I didn’t get to use all of his photos since some of them had half of my head cut off. I think that he might have muttered something under his breath about me only having half a brain, etc.
Anyway, my cozy turtleneck sweater is one that I have had for a couple of months, and it is one that I reach for often. It is warm, soft, and a great neutral color. I like the ribbed detailing at the cuffs, the hemline, and the neckline. It has a slightly oversized feel, and I am wearing a medium. This sweater washes up well, and I have even thrown it in the dryer. Even though I have worn this a bunch, I couldn’t see where I had ever posted it on the blog before. Whoops, my bad. You will love this sweater, take my word for it. Plus, it is on sale for only 15.00. It comes in several colors, and I just took advantage of the sale and ordered the light blue and burgundy one also. Here is the link.
You are probably sick of seeing me wear my Kut From The Kloth skinny jeans. I wear these all the time because they fit great and have just the right about of give to them. These are the Diana style, and they fit true to size. I am wearing my usual size 10, and they are on sale for 40% off!!! Here is the link to the regular size jeans, and here is the link to the Plus size. Unfortunately, the Plus size jeans are not on sale. ?
Scarves are a guilty pleasure of mine. I love all different styles and material scarves. They are inexpensive, for the most part, and they can make a huge difference in the look of an outfit. I bought this scarf at the Talbots Outlet here, but I can’t find the exact one online. No problem, there are a lot of beautiful plaid scarves for you to choose.
And I am once again wearing my Lucky Brand ankle boots that I bought back in early November. I love these booties, and I wear them all the time. The cuff at the top of the boot is extra stylish, and I get compliments a lot when I wear these. I think these run a tad bit small, and I ordered a half size larger than I usually wear. They fit great, but they are still roomy enough for me to wear a pair of socks if I want. Here is the link to the boots.
BTW, if you are every at California Dreaming, get the salad with the house dressing and the honey croissant. You’ll thank me later for that recommendation. Lol!
How is your memory???
Have you done any of the following? Walked into a room and forgot why you went into the room? Drove by the place that you were supposed to turn off? Or, maybe you have been telling a story and forgot what you were saying???

Some people lose their minds and manners when they get behind the wheel. So sorry that you had to deal with that bozo. Glad you enjoyed your lunch and day with Joe. You are looking very lean! Whatever you are doing is working…. Is it intermittent fasting? Merry Christmas!
Love the outfit!! The scarf just sets it off! Sorry you had to deal with a rude driver. People can be so very rude these days. It has been 20+ years since I ate at California Dreamin’. I remember that salad and croissant very well……oh so good!!
Tania – my solution when someone is over the top rude with road rage – I blow them kisses, wave and smile. I also have a road rage Jesus in my car – a crucifix my mother-in-law told me me keep in my car. When I have a tailgater I hold up my crucifix – like an exorcism – funny the looks I get. Blowing kisses throws them off too – they must have been having such an awful day to be so rude. I am not a bad driver really, but there are certainly a lot out there –
Oh Tania! I am that snarky person who has no patience when driving. So sorry!
My resolution for the new year is to chill … nothing (aside from a true emergency) is worth getting that riled up over while driving!! And I did practice that today when I was out shopping. I did pretty well!
Love your outfit. I’m a scarf person, too. I wear them all year round because it’s such an easy way to add detail to an outfit.
Your blog is wonderful and I look forward to your posts!!
Mama use to tell me when people are rude to you to be like a feather in the wind and float above it. I can’t wear turtlenecks now due to my overly fleshy neck as in old LOL but I lived in them when I was younger. The scarf just adds the icing to a great look. I love your boots but I am boot poor now. I just don’t get to wear them all every year. Boots carry over well though if they are simple.
