This year I am making a concerted effort to say “yes” more. I know a lot of people are wanting to start saying “no” more often because they feel like their plates are full. I also have been guilty of this type of thinking, because who wants to be spread too thin? So, all of last year, I tried to limit new activities and new opportunities. It dawned on me later in the year that I was also limiting myself. How could I grow if I never tried anything new? I saw a book by television producer and screenwriter Shonda Rhimes called Year of Yesand she said that it changed her life. She decided to do an experiment for a year where she would say yes to everything. She said yes when her kids asked her play even though she was heading out the door to work. Even though she was terrified of speaking in public, she said yes to a public speaking engagement.
Most of us fall into one of two categories. Some people say yes to everything because they are people pleasers and they are afraid that they will make someone mad if they say no. That would normally be how I act. Saying yes is not going to be my response to everything, but I am going to open my mind about the possibility fo saying yes. I want to try new food, a new restaurant, a new brand, or a new style. How can I say no to something that I have never tried? So, if you see me doing some strange things that I wouldn’t normally do, you will know that I am in my growth stage. Hopefully, I am going to be able to contain my growth to knowledge and experiences, and not my waistline and hips. Lol! This classic pullover v neck sweater is great for wearing by itself or for layering. I love the relaxed fit of the sweater, and that is going to make it easy to wear over a collared shirt. I ordered a size large so that I could easily wear the sweater over a shirt without it feeling too confining. The solid colors of the sweater make it easier to pair with other items, and I know that I am going to get a lot of wear from this. You can wear this sweater with jeans, or a nice skirt or pants since it has a polished look. Here is the link to the sweater, and it is on clearance so hurry.
The convertible tweed shoulder bag from Chico’s is gorgeous. It reminds me of the Chanel look, with its gold chain and tweed. The fringe detail gives the bag a more modern style, and the fact that you can wear the bag long or short is a plus for me. There are times when I want to carry a crossbody bag, and this would work. The handbag is not huge, but it has plenty of room for my wallet, phone, lipstick, etc. This bag is pure class style, and I love the elegant look. Here is the link to the handbag. When it comes to getting dressed, shoes are the hardest thing for me. I tend to buy the same looking shoes over and over again, and I hardly ever branch outside of my comfort zone. I am going to try to do better in 2020 in the shoe department. Because the shoes can make or break an outfit, I decided to show you how this outfit would look with three different shoe styles. First is these jeweled flats that I recently purchased from The Loft. These are stylish and comfortable, so that is a huge plus. I love how much skin you can see with the cuff being above the ankle, and I think that flats look great when worn like this. Here is the link to these shoes, and they are at 50% off. I thought that some of you might like to see the outfit with a pair of ankle boots. Honestly, I love ankle boots, but this is probably my least favorite look of the three styles. I really love these Marc Fisher boots, however, just not with this look.
Speaking of a classic, you know that I love my classic black pumps by Coach. I could wear these shoes daily and never get tired of them. These are my jam! But, I know that you want to see more items and more variety than one pair of shoes, so I do try to find other shoes to wear. But, I must confess, sometimes I will change into my pumps before I head out of the door. Lol! It is hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but I am trying. Hahaha
Look at the tweed detail on the cuff of these jeans! Oh My Word, how cute are these??? I will tell you that this detail sold me on these jeans. I absolutely love the tweed and the little pearl beads. These are part of Chico’s So Slimming line, and I am liking what I am seeing from the line. I do think that this pair is a little big on me, so I sent them back and reordered a smaller size. They are a girlfriend fit, so I think that they are supposed to be looser through the thighs, but I don’t need anything being loose in the belly region, so back they went. I am crossing my fingers that the size 1 fits me better because I truly loved this pair. Here is the link to the jeans, and they are on sale for only…$39.00!!! You better hurry. Be sure to let me know which shoe style you liked the best with this outfit.
I had someone message me yesterday about my lashes. They wanted to know if I had always had long lashes, or if I was using something to make them grow. Obviously they don’t read my blog, or they stop before I talk about R+F. Lol! I am sure that you all know that I use Lash Boost, and my lashes speak for how well this serum works.
I was doing some planning for next month’s content, and I noticed that Valentine’s Day is not that far off. It is five weeks from today, and I thought that I would offer you, ladies, a Lash Boost special if you are interested in having longer lashes to bat your eyes at your Hunny. I am offering you a $20.00 gift certificate off of the purchase of one of my favorite products, the Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream. People will be looking at those long lashes, so you want to make sure to start working on any crows feet that you might have. Here is the link to the Lash Boost, and if you want to go ahead and add the eye cream to your order, then I’ll send you the 20.00 refund. Don’t forget to order as a Preferred Customer to get 10% off and free shipping. If you are a new customer, I will also reimburse you for the one-time enrollment fee. Message me if you have any questions.
You’re definitely a winter or summer, not a spring or fall.
I wanted to shoot you a note, tell you how much I enjoyed being part of your circle if only briefly! You’re adorable, have great style and I was encouraged to mix up my own wardrobe.
I also was watching something someone had sent me on YouTube and as soon as it finished, one of your make-up videos played! Don’t tell me that YouTube doesn’t have good metrics. That was too much fun. Please never assume all women know how to put on makeup! I learned a lot. I enjoyed the hair styling part too.
I loved the jeans and since several of the “Over 50” bloggers I follow rave about Chico’s I did quickly order them since there’s is no store near me and I’m a plus size so chances are they wouldn’t have been in stock anyway. Jeans were cute, cute but too big. I returned the next day with their label. Since I hadn’t hadn’t heard anything I got concerned and checked on my return. It takes 4 weeks for them to process a return! I wish I had known that and thought you may not be aware, I’m not out too comfortable with hat personally.
Love the little bag. So cute! I agree shoes can really make an outfit. All 3 choices are cute and versatile. I too need to expand my shoe collection. My feet have changed (swelling and some occasional pain. So I am donating many of my much loved high heels that just don’t fit anymore, and getting more quality footwear that are comfy and stylish. Love the flats with the little buckle, such a sweet and fun detail.

Thanks for all you do!
And is this weird to thank you?
