HOW CAN I WEAR MY CLOTHING IF I’VE GAINED WEIGHT
Is there anyone reading this that hasn’t gained weight before? I am just going to assume that everyone has outgrown a piece f clothing. Maybe your scale says you haven’t gained weight, but your clothing isn’t fitting you like it used to. Thanks to menopause and that thing called the middle-age-spread, a lot of you might be trying to figure out how to “wear my clothing since I’ve gained weight?”
My weight fluctuates all of the time, and I am either 10 pounds heavier or lighter at any given time. When I am on the higher end of my weight, I start to feel my pants getting tighter around my waist, and my tops start to have a hard time buttoning. It isn’t a great feeling when this happens, and try taking a photo of yourself and putting it on the internet for everyone to notice those extra pounds. UGH! If you are losing weight and are wondering how to wear your clothing, I wrote an article that might help.
This zebra-striped blouse is too little for me. This time, it isn’t because I’ve gained weight; I misjudged what size I needed. The size that I wear in a top can be a medium or a large, and you never know for sure until the item arrives. I will read reviews if possible to see how the clothing runs, and sometimes the description gives you an idea. Most of the time, I will order a large if I am in doubt, but that wasn’t the case today.
Normally, I wouldn’t take photos of something that doesn’t fit me correctly. But, someone once asked me, “how can everything fit you well?” The reason that it fits me well is that I don’t photograph things that are waaay too big or too tight. I made an exception today, and I decided to show you how I wear my clothing when I’ve gained weight.
Wearing clothing that is too tight isn’t something that I recommend. However, there are times when finances don’t allow for new clothing, and we have to make do with what we’ve got. So, here are a few tips that I do when this happens.
You probably noticed that I don’t have the buttons completely buttoned all the way up. By leaving a few buttons unbuttoned at the top, it gives me some more breathing room. I will wear a thin camisole or tank top under the top, which allows me to unbutton the top further. If your weight gain is in the tummy region, I won’t button the blouse. I would let it be a completer piece and let it function as a cardigan or jacket.
The shirt I am wearing is no longer on the website, but this print is still available. I’ll add those items below.
I’ve worn this set of jewelry a ton since I got it. I love the natural coloration of the horn and shell, and I think it goes well with almost anything. You can shorten the necklace, and that makes it very versatile. The horn cuff bracelet just matches my outfit, but the coloration could vary, and yours might be a different color. The one on the website is more cream, where mine is more camel. The earrings have already sold out and are no longer available.
These camel ankle pants are a great rich color. I love the cuff detail on the pants; I think it elevates the look of the pants. These would be great work pants, or they will work for any occasion you need to dress up a bit. I’m wearing my usual size 10, and they fit me fine.
I absolutely love this neutral tote! I’ve carried it a lot since I got it because it goes with anything. It looks great with all the fall colors, and I love carrying it with a black or navy outfit. The bag is a medium size, and it has a shoulder strap that you can also attach. I try not to carry the same bags all of the time, but this one is easy to grab and go. Lol!
These neutral kitten heels are almost completely sold out. I’ll be surprised if they make it the rest of the day. I wear these a lot because of their neutral color, and the kitten heel is comfortable. Do you see what I am walking on??? The heels did fine traversing on this rocky terrain, so I think they’ll be fine at your workplace. Lol!
I am wearing my usual size 9, and they run true to size. If I can find some similar shoes in flats, I’ll link to them below.
I hope you enjoyed these photos. My daughter laughed when she saw them because she knows the path I had to take to get to this spot. Her words, “I would have loved to have seen you get down there.” It is a rocky path with a lot of big boulders to walk across. I told her that I did fine, plus I went up and down the path three times without any issue. Somebody knock on wood for me; I probably just jinxed myself. Hahaha!
