HOUNDSTOOTH OR PLAID, WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE

Today’s post is going to be a little different. You’ll find all the talking/stories at the beginning, followed by photos and links. I’m feeling cruddy, don’t worry, I don’t have COVID, just another weather front moving through. I’m not sure why I am so sensitive to those things, but they sure make my head, teeth, and shoulders hurt.

Joe was sweetie, and he went out and got me a coke and french fries because he knows that is my normal go-to when these fronts move through. He forgot that I started back on my diet Monday, and I didn’t have the heart to tell him. So, I thanked him sweetly and ate the food. Today is the last day to sign up for that diet program if you’re interested, and the next program won’t open up for another 8 weeks. If you sign up, please say that Tania Stephens referred you.

When my daughter was here over Thanksgiving, she bought me a heating pad that had been a lifesaver. It is for my shoulders, has 4 heating levels, and a magnetic closure to hold the heating pad together and in place. Funny enough, I just found the magnetic closure tonight by accident. Lol! I have the blue version, but I can’t see a difference between it and the gray one, but the gray one is $50 cheaper. I know which one I would order. Lol!

Lastly, for sizing reference, I’m 5’6″ tall, I weigh around 150 lbs, I normally wear a size 12 in dresses or a large, a medium, or large in tops, and I usually wear a size 8 or 10 in pants and jeans. Since I’ve lost some weight, I am usually ordering mediums and my size 10 jeans are starting to be too big and droopy.

Long Sleeve, elastic waistband, ribbed turtleneck dress in medium // Reversible Plaid/Houndstooth Ruana // Belt is an old one and no longer available // Gold Vermeil Cross Necklace // Large Statement Earrings // Abbie Bangle Bracelet in M/L // Mother of Pearl Pendant // Black Suede Knee Boots (old) // Rebecca Minkoff Black Leather Handbag (old)

I wanted to show you how to wear a Ruana as a wrap or how to belt it down for a fitted look. Joe loved the houndstooth side, but I thought the plaid side looked the best with the dress. Since the Ruana is reversible, you will get more wear for your money. Plus, the Ruana is on sale as part of Chico’s Semi-Annual Sale.

  6. Love the plaid.
    Hope you feel better.

    1. Me too! I’m feeling much better this morning!

  7. I loved this ruana when I first saw it! I LOVE the plaid on one side with houndstooth on the other! I am definitely a pattern girl!! Then, I went to Chicos and saw it in person. I wasn’t crazy about the orange in the plaid. Orange isn’t a good color for me. I wish it would have been more the color of your dress or a shade of red or burgundy. I would have bought it for sure! Thanks Tania!

    1. Lori, the orange stripe doesn’t bother me, and I thought that color would make the Ruana look even better when worn with browns.

      1. Ha, I’m normally such a “matchy matchy” with colors that I’m shocked I didn’t even notice that the ruana has an orange stripe against the burgundy of the dress (and that there wasn’t any burgundy in the ruana). I just thought the whole look was so gorgeous!

  8. You look fabulous and very chic in this outfit! Also, I’d love to know where your daughter got that heating pad. Sounds like something I’d use quite a bit! Have a blessed day 🙂

    1. Deborah, I linked to the heating pad, you can just click on the highlighted words and it will take you straight to the store.

    Love this format.

    1. Thanks, Maribeth. It is sure easier to do this format, but you don’t hear about the clothing this way.
