HIT OR MISS – TRAIN ENGINEER STRIPED SHIRT
Are the Hit or Miss posts one of your favorite posts? What about the This or That posts? I’m trying to stick with a theme when I can so that you know what to expect, and I can plan ahead what I need to order. Of course, there are always going to be days with exceptions, but most of the time I’m going to stick with a schedule.
When possible, my Monday posts are going to showcase affordable fashions. Tuesdays are going to be my flexible day, so I’m not sticking with a clothing theme for that day. Wednesday’s are Hit or Miss, and Thursday’s are This or That. Friday is another flexible day, while Saturdays are devoted to casual style. My Sunday posts will stay the same as always, so that day won’t change.
Maybe it is because I lived beside a railroad track for over 15 years, but this striped top reminds me of a railroad engineer. Lol! That doesn’t mean that I don’t like the top, but the print is similar to a train engineer hat. The Puff Sleeve Striped Pullover is 100% cotton and a little heavier than some of my previous spring shirts. This pullover doesn’t have any stretch to it, but the medium fits me fine.
The puff sleeves are unique because of the different stripe positions. This top is a great transition piece, and you can get a lot of wear with it. Here is the look from the back so that you can gauge the length of the top.
You might have heard me mention that I always buy myself a gift for Valentine’s Day, and tell Joe that I saved him the trouble of going shopping. This tradition started years ago when I bought myself this Coach handbag. I still love this handbag, and I carry it every spring and summer. See what great taste Joe has. Lol!!! This bag is no longer available, but I’ll see if I can round up some others for you. I’m sure that your husband’s style can be just as good. Haha!
I took these photos before I knew that these release hem jeans were not on the website. The released hem is a form of distressed jeans, but there are no holes or tears. I thought this look might be a good option for those who aren’t fond of jeans with rips. I’ll link to some others for you; these were Time and Tru, and they run TTS.
I didn’t find my platform sneakers, but I did find my Sperry Crest Vibe sneakers that I love and wear all the time. These sneakers wash up well, and I’ve had these going on three summers, so I feel like I got my money’s worth out of them. I had to size down in these shoes to an 8 1/2 instead of my usual size 9.

HIT…You look cute. It never crossed my mind about the engineer’s cap. It’s funny what we get in our head’s, huh? I have a chocolate colored coach bag just like yours. I’ve had mine for years as well. It still looks new.
I like it! The shirt won’t work b/c it’s too hot here most of the year (and I have a “thing” for long sleeved shirts, and then don’t wear them!) But, I’ve been trying since yesterday to convince myself not to hop in the car and go get those jeans! (slugs self, don’t need new jeans! Hot! I tell you, hot!)
I love this casual outfit!
I love this look, I love the stripes, the colour and the neck line. You look great xx
I like the top! My Dad was a train engineer for 46 yrs!
Love this top! Abe so economical. Love the blue print one also!
I like the outfit. I think it would be great with white jeans and a mule or sandals.
Love this because this top would go with jeans dressed down with sneaks or look a little nicer with white jeans and loafers or sandals.
Sadly this outfit is a miss for me.
I like your theme days for the blog.
I shy away from cotton cuz I like my clothes to have some “give” to them.
