HAPPY NATIONAL SUNGLASSES DAY 2021

Did you know that there was a National Sunglasses Day? Neither did I, but there is, and it is tomorrow, June 27th. Since it was a gorgeous sunny day, I decided to grab some of my “sunnies,” to show you. Since the post is a day early, that will give you time to grab your pair and be prepared to face the sun in style tomorrow! But, before I get started, let me update you on the products that came home with me from yesterdays Inside The Dressing Room.
I loved seeing all of the comments yesterday!!! I had to do payroll, pay bills, and reconcile the checkbook at the lumber company, so I didn’t get to answer very many of them. I apologize for that! But, I knew that everyone would be wondering what I actually bought from yesterday’s Inside The Dressing Room, so here are the items.

The navy and white striped ballet neck top and the pull-on full-leg knit trousers both came home with me. So many of you guessed that I also bought the jacket, but I didn’t think that I would wear it enough. Maybe that will be a “sale” purchase. Lol!

The white short sleeve v-neck tee and the soft and lightweight palm print scarf were purchases since I knew that I could wear them with the navy pants. I’ll wear them with more than that, but I loved that look so much!

My final purchase was the crop Sailor pants in the bougainvillea color. I loved the color, and I don’t have anything like this in my wardrobe already. I did love the palm print crops, the white crops with the fringe hem, and the navy top with white embroidery, but they didn’t make my final cut. I already have a lot of white pants, and I just bought a pair of palm print pants at the store I visited before this one. You’ll see them on the blog soon.
I’m glad that you enjoyed the post, and I can’t wait to hear if anyone guessed ALL FIVE ITEMS!
Some facts about wearing sunglasses:
- They help to prevent wrinkles! What??? According to what I’ve read, wearing sunglasses keeps your eyes relaxed and you don’t squint as much. Squinting is a culprit that can cause crow’s feet at the corners of your eyes.
- Wearing sunglasses block harmful rays from reaching the sensitive skin around our eyes. UV Rays can damage the skin and cause cancer.
- Look for sunglasses that protect you from 99 to 100 percent of both UVA and UVB light. This includes those labeled as “UV 400,” which blocks all light rays with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers.
- And, sunglasses are a stunning accessory to your outfit. You don’t need to buy the most expensive glasses to get the look you are after. However, some of the more expensive pairs have amazing clarity and brilliant colors once you put them on.

So, now that you know a few facts about sunglasses, let’s see if we can find the right pair for you. These Rectangle Sunglasses are a slim sleek look, and they are 100% UV protection, so they have you covered.

The plastic tortoiseshell look frames are very stylish, but they are not expensive. These sunglasses are only $15.00, so you can keep them in the car, your handbag, or in the boat, and not worry about losing them.

These sunglasses are by Ray-Ban, a brand that I am sure that you know. My husband walked through the kitchen and tried these on. He then declared that they looked good on him!

I’m hoping that I get to keep these and he doesn’t try to steal them. Lol! In an effort to keep them for me, I am keeping them in their case and in my handbag. Lol!

This is a great classic design and a good medium size sunglass. The Ray-Ban Erika sunglasses are available in a variety of colors and lenses, including polarized, gradient, and solid lenses, making these sunglasses ideal for both sunny and hazy days.

These black sunglasses have rounded lenses and a slightly larger lens. I prefer larger lenses, and I like it when the frames cover my eyebrows.

Like the first pair of sunglasses that I showed, these are only $15.00 and offer 100% UV protection.

These glasses are very glamourous looking. You might have seen me wearing these glasses out by my swimming pool with a beautiful black ruched dress.

I feel like I am in the CHIPs television show. Lol! These oversized mirrored Aviators are fun and flirty!

When you wear these glasses, no one can see your eyes, they only see their own reflections. Hahaha!

I actually like this look more than I care to admit, and at $15.00, they are affordable enough for a pair that you only wear on certain occasions.

Have you ever worn Maui Jim sunglasses? These are beautiful glasses, that produce some amazing and vibrant colors. I handed them to the lady taking my photos, and she was like, “WOW!” “Oh, wow!”

I loved the color variation on the rims of the glasses. This pair was black on the top and tortoiseshell on the bottom. There are other colors to choose from.

This is the most expensive of all of the sunglasses, but if you want to try a great pair of glasses, then give them a try.

This is another “fun” pair of glasses. Sunglasses don’t always have to be black, brown, or silver. You can add some sparkle and pizzaz to your look with these glasses.

These midnight orchid glasses have a slight cat-eye look. But, the real fun part of the glasses is on the sides.

Look at the silvertone glitter accent! These are way cuter in person than in the photographs. We tried over and over again to get a good photo of the sparkle, but it wasn’t happening.

I know that the orchid sunglasses don’t really go with the red top, but they would have looked amazing with a navy top!
Now…let’s do a quick round-up of all of the sunglasses that I’ve shown you today. I am sure that you have already forgotten what half of them looked like. In the end, I kept TWO pairs of these glasses. One affordable, and one on the expensive side.

Ray-Ban Erika sunglasses (I kept these)

These black sunglasses (I kept these too)

Maui Jim sunglasses (broke my heart to send these back)

The Maui Jim sunglasses are so flattering! Those are the frames I’d love to own. I have a pair of prescription Michael Kors that I’ve had for almost ten years! It’s definitely time to replace them. (I go see the eye doctor next month. YIPEE!) My husband LOVES his Ray-Bans.
I was busy yesterday so I didn’t get a chance to comment on yesterday’s post. My two favorite outfits are the first and the third one you posted today. You looked amazing in them. You looked so slender! Are you following a particular diet?
Thanks for the sunglasses post. Living in Arizona they are a must!
The round ones are my favorite.
I like the fun glasses.
You are my kind of a GURL!
Sunglasses are a necessity and you can never have too many! I got a pair of progressive prescription ones a few months ago and it took a while to get used to them, but they’re perfect for driving and shopping. All of the glasses look great on you, but I especially like the funky orchid pair!
Lol! That funky orchid pair is so cute. They might not be the choice for an everyday pair, but they are so cute for a fun pair.
Hey Tania!
I love all your posts, but I just wanted to let you know how much I have been enjoying the quotes you have been putting in with your daily emails! I especially loved today’s, it summed up exactly how I feel. Thank you for adding this little touch that I love so much!
Really!?! That makes me happy to hear you say that. I’ve wondered if anyone was even reading them.
I wish I could just buy a pair of sunglasses in a store. Mine are prescription so choice is limited to 1 overpriced pair 🙄 every couple of years
I understand. That is much harder and way more expensive.
Sunglasses also help prevent macular degeneration. I always wear sunglasses as my Dad and his sister both had the disease. I like all the glasses but love the most expensive ones, of course.
That is a great point, Penny! It seems I always like the expensive ones too. Lol!
Ok, you need to move the comment section up higher on your post. For the longest time I couldn’t find it. Please!!
Lol! I would move it if I could.
Those Maui Jim sunglasses are beautiful but I actually really like the black ones you kept 😍
I have an old pair of Maui Jim’s that I loved, but the style doesn’t suit me anymore. I’m actually on the lookout for an updated pair, but I haven’t found the exact ones yet.
