HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM THE 49TH STATE
Happy 4th of July everyone!!! If you visit Alaska remember to take your rain jacket. Lol! It is so lush and green here and most of that is due to the fact that it rains all the time. The first time that I visited here we arrived and it was beautiful and sunny. I had no idea that it was not normal for that time of the year. It was so beautiful that day and it rained the remaining time we were there. Today was just misty and foggy. The fog hung low around the mountains but that didn’t stop the float planes from flying all day long.
Joe layered too with a long sleeve zip shirt and one of his favorite jackets. He took out the extra lining of the jacket though because he runs warmer than I do. I am always freezing and he is usually burning up.
We went downtown to meet Ashleigh for lunch. Then we took her car and rode around for a couple hours to just go exploring. We went and did a little shopping (gasp) but Joe is the only one who bought something. Lol! I waited until Ashleigh got off work and then we went to another store where she and I bought several things. I told her that I got to wear them while I was here in Juneau and then she could keep them if she wanted. She jumped at that offer. Lol!
I had to dig my boots out to bring with me. This is a far cry from my sandals that I have been wearing lately but I love this look. I also brought my Hunter rain boots with me so you might see those later in the week.
Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Happy 4th of July Tania! The photos from Alaska are amazing! I would love to see bald eagles fly over my house – wow! Are ya’ll going to a fireworks show tonight? Can’t wait to see more pictures. Have enough fun for you and me too! ha
Happy 4th to you and your whole family! Alaska looks so beautiful!! Love the eagles, too. Would love to visit there one day. Enjoy every single moment!
Awesome! Keep the pictures coming. Also, please include your website for Plunder. thanks.
Hi, Rory. Thanks for the reminder. Lol! It is http://www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and just pick a party that has my name in it.
Be sure to stay away from bears. Apparently people in the west coast of Canada don’t realize bears don’t pose for selfies and someone got killed.
You don’t have to worry about that with me, Susan. I will not be posing with any bears. Hahaha
Aw ! Beautiful pictures!! You all look so happy?Happy 4th??
We were in Alaska two years ago on a cruise. Went whale watching there in June, I wore cuddle duds under my clothes the whole trip.and yes you will need rain gear. Parkas, umbrella, boots, it never rained hard just fine foggy mist but after being out in it for a while you get pretty wet. Beautiful though the glaciers were awesome. The crab was divine. Have fun watch out for bears they do roam the town and have a reindeer hotdog or burger. Enjoy the visit….
Ummmm, I might have to think about the reindeer burger. Lol!
My sister-in-law was a missionary religious sister and nurse living in Fairbanks and taking care of the needy. My only regret is that we didn’t visit before she left. She passed away but we have beautiful pictures that she took to reminds of the great love she had for Alaska. Enjoy your visit! America the beautiful indeed!
Happy 4th of July! I love your outfit! You and Joe look so cute! We went on a cruise several years ago and I thought Alaska was beautiful.
Have fun and keep the pictures coming!
Wow! What a great view! And the bald eagles – amazing! I lived in Fairbanks for almost 3 years when my father was in the Army. I actually graduated high school there. I don’t remember it being so rainy in Fairbanks. Maybe because it is so far inland. I DO remember the mosquitos ‘tho. Watch out! Lol. Have a wonderful time! I am enjoying your pictures! ?
