50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM THE 49TH STATEHappy 4th of July everyone!!! If you visit Alaska remember to take your rain jacket. Lol! It is so lush and green here and most of that is due to the fact that it rains all the time. The first time that I visited here we arrived and it was beautiful and sunny. I had no idea that it was not normal for that time of the year. It was so beautiful that day and it rained the remaining time we were there. Today was just misty and foggy. The fog hung low around the mountains but that didn’t stop the float planes from flying all day long. 50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM THE 49TH STATE As you can see, I woke up this morning to 4 cruise ships in town. Ashleigh said there will be 7 ships here tomorrow. The downtown streets are brimming with people everywhere and the shops are packed with all kinds of goodies. I plan on going there tomorrow and walking the street and taking pictures. These pictures are just on Ashleigh’s balcony and you can see the houses in front of her house and the construction that is going on in her driveway. I layered today by wearing a Crown and Ivy navy button up shirt with white and pink chihuahua on it and a pink and blue zip up vest. This kept me plenty warm since the temperature was in the high 50’s. 50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM THE 49TH STATEJoe layered too with a long sleeve zip shirt and one of his favorite jackets. He took out the extra lining of the jacket though because he runs warmer than I do. I am always freezing and he is usually burning up. 50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM THE 49TH STATEWe went downtown to meet Ashleigh for lunch. Then we took her car and rode around for a couple hours to just go exploring. We went and did a little shopping (gasp) but Joe is the only one who bought something. Lol! I waited until Ashleigh got off work and then we went to another store where she and I bought several things. I told her that I got to wear them while I was here in Juneau and then she could keep them if she wanted. She jumped at that offer. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM THE 49TH STATE Bald Eagles are EVERYWHERE here. If you look in the trees you will see more of them. Their heads look like golf balls in the trees. Joe and I were standing in front of Ashleigh’s big picture window this morning. This huge Bald Eagle came flying right at us and at just the last minute it flew over the house. Joe was scrambling trying to get his phone out to get a picture but he wasn’t fast enough.50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM THE 49TH STATEI had to dig my boots out to bring with me. This is a far cry from my sandals that I have been wearing lately but I love this look. I also brought my Hunter rain boots with me so you might see those later in the week.  50 IS NOT OLD | HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM THE 49TH STATE I want to remind you that Rodan and Fields still have the fantastic offer of 20% off the purchase of any Regimen and Lash Boost combo. 1. We are planning to go to Alaska next year for my mom’s 80th birthday (the 70+ model on my blog) and Nancy’s 70th birthday (the 60+ model). I may need to pick your brain on what we take—I don’t even think I have rain gear—eek!

The weather in Alaska seems pretty similar to where I live in Ireland, today it’s wet, dull and dreary though probably not as cold. I know our winters here are nowhere near as severe as they are in Alaska. Lovely pics, the scenery looks absolutely stunning!! Hope you and Joe enjoy your stay there with your daughter and have a real fun time!!
