50 IS NOT OLD | GROMMETS ON A DRESSI talked to my sister this morning and she was telling me some stories on my brother’s little girl, Allison. You have heard me tell other stories about her, my brother and sister-in-law are going to have their hands full for a LONG time. My mother has been taking her to Vacation Bible School this past week and just like a grandmother she was giving her some instructions on how to act. She is 6 years old and can be quite the handful. Lol! Anyway, my mother told her to be nice and act mature since she was the youngest child in the class. Her reply was, “Why are you trying to make me something that I am not?”50 IS NOT OLD | GROMMETS ON A DRESSMy mother has become quite the animal lover and will take in everything that she sees. She and Allison were in a parking lot while running some errands and my mom saw a small dog that looked like a Chihuahua. Mom told Allison that my dad would strangle her if she took it home. Later that night they got ready to leave to go to VBS and mom was backing out of the driveway. She saw one of her dogs running around and she told Allison not to worry that she wouldn’t hit the dog. Then my dad walked behind the vehicle and mom said she wouldn’t hit him either. Allison piped up and said, “on the bright side at least you could get that Chihuahua.” What are they going to do with her? Lol!!!50 IS NOT OLD | GROMMETS ON A DRESSLittle sisters can be good for some things. In this case, it would be giving me a dress that she bought for herself but didn’t like. I, on the other hand, love this dress. She bought it a ROSS but when she put it on she didn’t like the effect. She is shorter than I am and has a much larger chest. She told me that it looked like she was wearing a tent. Lol! Awwww, I hate that for her……not! Now, I get the dress. Hahaha! I like the material and how easy this dress is to wear. The straps are good and wide so I didn’t have to worry about my bra straps peeking out. The grommets around the neckline are the unique feature and it adds some dressiness to the dress. Lol! The brand of the dress is Expresso.

50 IS NOT OLD | GROMMETS ON A DRESS These earrings are leather! They have a metallic gold coating and they are super lightweight. They are pretty large but that is not a bad thing. Since I am not wearing a necklace then I want some statement earrings to draw attention to my face. These are called the Dakota and they are only $12.00.  50 IS NOT OLD | GROMMETS ON A DRESS I have on a 4th of July special today. You need to periodically check out the “specials” tab because that is where they have jewelry that is available for a limited time. The blue and red leather wrap bracelet is the Independence bracelet. If you are a fan of red, white, and blue or pendants with Americana sayings then you need to check that out. The bracelet on my left arm is the Corey and it has a magnetic closure with removable adjustable links. The bracelets on my right arm are from Alex and Ani. 50 IS NOT OLD | GROMMETS ON A DRESS This is the first time that I have worn my fringed sandals this year. There are times when I just want to wear something a little different. I know that my navy t-strap sandals would have looked great with this dress but I want to change things up some. These sandals are the KOA by Sole Society.
50 IS NOT OLD | GROMMETS ON A DRESSThe off-white purse is not a name brand purse but I like it just the same. The tassels and the gold grommets are what made me want to purchase the purse. I like a neutral purse that I can carry when I don’t want to have to think about it.

  1. Love the dress, and your niece sounds adorable. On another note, I have tried to email a couple of times regarding Rodan & Fields and they keep not going thru. Not sure what I am doing wrong. My main question was, if I’m not interested in becoming a representative, does it still benefit you if I place an order thru you? My email is pamelabentz@gmail.com. Maybe if we try it with you emailing me it will work! 🙂 Anyway, love your blog. It always makes me smile.

    1. Hi, Pam. I sent you an email, I don’t know what is the problem with my email. Yes, it will benefit me, thank you for asking.

You look adorable as always. I love the stories about your niece. I have a 6 yr old granddaughter that sounds like they are related. I have a funny story Im planning on sharing on Face Book. Kids this age are so funny!

  8. The dress looks great on you…and the hair cut is very cute!!

  9. In response to yesterday’s post. A bad day is not when your hairdresser calls and she is running late. A bad day is when you are told you have cancer! Be thankful count your blessings that you are able physically to go to the hairdresser and you can afford to pay for it!

  10. I wouldn’t call myself a “frumpy” dresser by any means, but I’ve been feeling lately like my inner “fun and fancy free” has been squelched by life and all of its stresses for the past 5 or so years now… which oddly enough, has been reflected in my wardrobe! So after searching on Pinterest for “Styles for Women over 40” (as I’m closer to 47 – ha!), I started seeing your lovely pins…. which ended up in subscribing to your blog… which ended up in total inspiration to work on jazzing up that mediocre, drab wardrobe. I want my outside to match my God-given bubbly & fun inside! Thank you & God bless! <3
