Gray or Grey, Just not in 50 shades
Gray is sometime thought of as a boring color. However, I found this website called Sensational Color that says otherwise. According to the website,
“Gray is the color of intellect, knowledge, and wisdom. It is perceived as classic, refined, dignified, and conservative. Gray is a perfect neutral that lives between the extremes of black and white.”
Wow, I knew I liked this color, it fills me with knowledge and refines me at the same time.
This gray check shirt is one I found at Old Navy last year. Here is a similar one. I loved how soft it was, and purchased it with the intentions of wearing it under a navy sweater. Good thing, because that looks like that will be the only way I will be able to wear it now. I was staining some signs at work, and got brown wood stain all down the front. One of the hazards of working in a hardware store.
These jeans are an Old Navy purchase as well. They are cute as can be. However, be prepared for wise cracks about wearing knee pads. Maybe that is just another hazard of working in the hardware store. The purse is from Stella and Dot. I held a party last year and this was one of my free items. It is no longer on their website, but I found it on ebay. I LOVE IT! The sides zip down to let the purse expand, and that is the way it is 99% of the time. I only zipped it closed for the picture. I have to confess I carry around a lot of
junk necessary items in my purses. These adorable little “Ozzie” booties are Kathy Van Zeeland. I purchased mine last year, but once again I found them on ebay. They add a little something to the rear.
There is a reason you never see me from the back.
This is my first time wearing this necklace and earring set. I purchased it from a fellow GFWC Woman’s Club member at the GFWC Virginia Conference in Lynchburg this past August. The Neck’d Ladies are vendors that attend our meetings, and I always come home with several goodies. I really like all the different shades of grays, blues, and purples. I had to add an extension, since it is more of a choker style.
I had to add a little vintage, (besides me), to the outfit. I loved how the shiny spoon bracelet (made from two spoons that have been flattened) and the vintage chrome purse with a lucite top, played off each other. I think it would be perfect for a dinner date with the hubby. In fact I think I will mention that to him. I hope you have a great weekend!
I really like your style, although I am quite a bit older than 50 it is a style I also wear and feel comfortable in. It is also nice to read that some of your sources are not always high-end, expensive stores sometimes some of my favorite items are things I was able to buy on sale at local stores like Penney’s or Old Navy.
Keep up the great inspiration.
