I know that May is not Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but the GFWC Virginia State Project was Breast Cancer Awareness, Causes and Cures for this administration. At brunch on Sunday, the outgoing President is honored, and she asked for everyone to wear pink, because of the project she had chosen for her administration. We had the most amazing speaker from Susan G. Komen, she was so bubbly and informative. I could have listened to her speak for hours. She told us about her mother who had passed away from breast cancer, and about her own battle. She was 37 years old, even though she looked like she was in her early 20’s, and spoke of how her cancer was genetic. She told us of some new technology that is soon to be made available to the general public, and it certainly gives hope for those who are fighting this terrible disease.
I’m not sure if I have mentioned that the State President is from Grundy, she is Sandy’s (BFF) mother. Our local club worked especially hard on this project, wanting to make Sandy’s mom proud. We were all so thrilled when the winner of the State Project for large club was GFWC Grundy Woman’s Club!!!
This would be my traveling home outfit, as well as the banquet outfit. Over look my hair, it was early, I was packing the car, and I had a 7 hour car ride in front of me, so I chose not to wash my hair. Shoot, they were lucky I even combed it. Lol! The star of this outfit it the spaghetti strapped top. I love the muted watercolors in the top. This top would go with white, navy, mint, peach, yellow, jeans, and even coral. This top is several years old, and I had to go pull it out of the dirty clothes and look at the tag, to even remember where I bought it. Luckily it had a tag from Maurices.
WATERCOLORED TOP: Similar| Similar | PlusThe chino light pink ankle pants are from Talbots. I’m not sure if I bought them this year or last year, but I am sure they came from the Premium Outlets in Orlando.
PINK ANKLE PANTS: Similar | Similar | Plus I chose a darker pink cardigan, and it is from Old Navy. I really don’t know what color to call this cardigan. It is pink up against some clothing, and then it looks more coral against others.
CARDIGAN: Similar | Similar | I have on my Chloe & Isabel necklace and bracelet that came with my kit when I signed up to be a merchandiser. If you make a purchase from Chloe & Isabel, please type my name in the Find A Merchandiser box.
If you haven’t already purchased a pair of Aerosoles wedge shoes, what are you waiting for? I love these shoes, they go with almost anything.
I bet you thought I forgot about the winner of the $30.00 gift certificate to Cabrera Jewelry. Not a chance, I can’t wait to make someone squeal. KELLY BLAIR, you are the winner. I will be contacting you by email, and then sending your information on to Crystal. Congratulations!!!

I think this my favorite outfit of all I’ve seen. Your skin just glows, and your hair looks great. I usually don’t comment, but this is great! Especially the watercolor top.
You know I LOVE pink and this looks really pretty on you. Very feminine without frills.
Your cause is close to my heart. My half-sister lost her mother to breast cancer. Then, it turns out, that both she and my niece have the gene. Information my sister did not have when she was diagnosed many years ago. Thankfully she is cancer free now. I lost one of my best friends ever in 2012 to it. I miss Stacy every day. I’m tearing up writing about her. I still “talk” to her even though it’s been 4 years. Thank you for your club’s commitment.
Brandye, I know of a couple sisters around here that also have the gene. It is great that they can at least tell when you have the gene. Technology is improving every day. I am sorry to hear about your friend, I can not imagine the pain that stays with you.?
Tania…a great inspiration for so many reasons…what a magnificent lady….
