50 IS NOT OLD | GETTING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRITI am trying to get into the Christmas spirit this year. I do have a tree already up (it doesn’t matter if I didn’t take it down all year) and I already have most of my Christmas shopping done. But, I still am very blah about the upcoming season. I wore red yesterday trying to force myself into a festive mood but it hasn’t really helped yet. I posted on my personal FaceBook page and asked for ideas that others used to get in the Christmas mood.50 IS NOT OLD | GETTING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRITI had a lot of response to the post and several people said that playing Christmas music did the trick. Some people said that baking put them in the Christmas mood. And then others said that watching Christmas movies helped to get them in the spirit. Joseph and Kayla want to go shopping for some gifts on Saturday so they asked if I could keep Emersyn. I am already making plans for us. I think we will start off with a mani/pedi and then move on to frozen yogurt. Next, we will go shopping and I am going to let her buy a present for her brother and mommy and daddy. Then we will go back to the house and make some cookies. While they are baking, I am going to let HER wrap the presents. We will see how well my best-laid plans will work out. I’ll be sure to let you know about our day next week.50 IS NOT OLD | GETTING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRITThis tie bell sleeve sweater is a recent purchase. I bought it when I went to Atlanta to visit my sister and to help my mother with a vintage fashion show. (here) I stopped at Target because I had seen a few items online that I wanted to buy since they wouldn’t ship to my area. This sweater called my name because of the versatility and also the sleeve detail. I am sure most of you have SEVERAL black tops but the sleeve detail makes this one special. If you are going to buy multiple tops in the same color then you want to make sure they are different in details. Otherwise, you will dress like Joe who orders his pants 10 at a time. Drives me crazy but he likes wearing the same style pant over and over and over.

50 IS NOT OLD | GETTING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRITI know several of you took advantage of the special that Plunder is having yesterday. They gave you the option of purchasing the Rudy earring for 3.00 and the Peggy necklace for 5.00 if you spent 30.00. The Rudy earrings have now sold out and the Peggy necklace is getting low. If that was something you were interested in then you better not wait. Now, for today’s jewelry, we will start with the Ashton earrings. This pair of earrings was probably my first taste of wearing large earrings. Boy, I have embraced that look. I have gotten where I now prefer a large pair of earrings. My hair has gotten longer so that might have something to do with it. The necklace was part of the Plunder Posse for October. It sold out really fast. Sometimes when a Posse piece is really popular they will bring it back in the next catalog so we can cross our fingers that will happen. This month’s Posse is pretty too. I just got mine in and I will try to style it one day next week. 50 IS NOT OLD | GETTING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT My Mae cheetah print cuff bracelet is really cute. The cuff does come with the “Let Go Let God” pendant.50 IS NOT OLD | GETTING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRITI bought these leopard print pants from Old Navy last year. They are the Harper brand which I think runs a little large. When I buy something in this brand I will size up. In my opinion, the Harper brand is a nicer line than the Pixie Pant. This pair has straight legs but they are not a skinny leg.

50 IS NOT OLD | GETTING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRITWearing a pair of classic pumps with ankle pants is such a “hot” look. Come on gurls, you know that this look is sexy as can be. Or, at least it is in my opinion and Joe will take notice whenever I sport this look. This black pair is by Coach and you can’t go wrong with a pair like this. Pumps look awesome with pants, jeans, dresses, skirts, and leggings. I think that pretty much covers everything.

50 IS NOT OLD | GETTING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRITBrand recognition is important! If you had the chance to work with a company like Apple or a company called Steve’s computer mart, most people would choose the well-known brand. If you are going to buy a car wouldn’t you want to buy a Ford instead of one called Henry’s autos? My point is that the doctors who created ProActiv and Rodan + Fields are about as famous in the world of skincare as you can get. If I am going to partner with someone one I would rather it be them instead of a business called Tania’s face cream. Lol!!! Today I am going to have a FREEBIE FRIDAY! Everyone who places a PC order today will receive a FREE full-size Body Lotion from the Essentials line. With winter coming on you will love this lotion for your dry skin. Go to tstephens5.myrandf.com to place an order. If you need to sign up as a PC you just scroll down until you see the subscribe and save option.

  1. I love this outfit! Beautiful pants and top! Sounds like you have a fun day planned with Emersyn – that should help you with the Christmas spirit. I get melancholy this time of year too because none of our family live here.

  2. You are an awesome grandma! I think you’re already in the spirit because you are going to do such memory making activities with your granddaughter.

Tania – I love that outfit and I’m going to copy it for the holidays!! I have the Old Navy Stevie pant in the leopard print and I love them! They’re soft like leggings, but cover more like pants. I wear mine with boots but the pumps will kick it up a notch. I think going to a children’s Christmas play or just hearing the Christmas story always puts me in the Christmas spirit.
    Enjoy your weekend!!

  4. Ways I get into the Christmas spirit include a variety of things – decorations, movies or music. I even change out my color scheme in the house and use lots of reds and greens- plaid being my favorite – for table cloths, pillows and throws. But best of all is the smell! Bring in some cedar or rosemary clippings – fragrant evergreens displayed will help since your tree is artificial. I love the smell of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, orange, and even cloves wafting through the air. I will turn on a potpourri or wax warmer with a Christmassy scent or one of those very small crockpots filled with water and those spices straight out of my cabinet thrown in. But even grinding those spices and setting them out in a bowl dry will fragrance the air! That with your baking cookies will help revive your Christmas spirit. They say smell elicits the strongest fond emotions and memories. Maybe that is what is missing for you. I do hope you find your Christmas spirit- you are such an inspiration to others!

  5. Hello,Tania??
Looking lovely in the whole outfit! The sweater called my name several times??? Im buying it.
I went to a conference yesterday and I encouraged the people at my table to go to your blog…
Besides being an early childhood educator, I’m also a crafter and this year I made my Christmas decorations for our tree and home. Sharing: I’m having a difficult time right now as I miss my mom sooooo much!?
She passed seven years ago and it doesn’t get easier…
God holds me in His loving arms!

    Blessings always,
    Raquel

You always look so stylish!! I often read you blog to check out what you are wearing that day and try to style myself accordingly. I don’t have a lot of animal print but have seriously considered getting some. I am not in the spirit either, I am planning on decorating my house this weekend so I’m hoping that will do the trick. Thank you for your Awesome blog and uplifting words. You are a true delight and Inspiration!! Oh yeah you are Rockin’ that animal print!!

  7. I love the animal print! Putting up a tree, movies, music, candles, shopping and wrapping, all help set the mood. Making plans with friends and family even when i dont feel like it alwsys helps and i enjoy it all when it comes together.

  8. Those pants look amazing on you with the black heels! Not a fan of the bell sleeves but that’s just me. As far as getting in the Christmas Spirit, just try to focus on the true meaning of it and don’t get caught up in the commercial side of it. Also, leaving your tree up all year may have desensitized you. Ha! Saturday with your granddaughter sounds like so much fun. ❤️

  9. I really like the pants and shoe combo. Your legs look longer and the fit looks perfect. I have never tried these pants but will when I go shopping this weekend. I wish you an enjoyable weekend with your shopping buddy. I think if you get through all your planned activities a nap will be-in order! Best Kathy

  10. Leopard….always a favorite for me Tania. Your hair looks great. I get into the Christmas spirit early. I enjoy listening to Christmas music and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. Enjoy your weekend and shopping with Emersyn. ~Lisa~
