Fall will be here before you know it, and I’m thrilled that I’m starting to see fall clothing hit the stores. I love summer weather, but fall clothing is my favorite! Today I’m styling four early fall outfits from Kohl’s that are mix and match, so you’ll be able to create multiple outfits.

I’ve been looking at trends for fall, and red is a color that is going to be popular this year. However, red can be intimidating for some people to wear, and finding the correct shade can be a challenge. Some shades of red are too orange, and some are too blue. So, for those who struggle, let me suggest maroon, claret, and wine instead.

I’m a HUGE fan of this color, and I think it is a perfect neutral for fall. This Plum Essential Cardigan is lightweight, has pockets, and helps to hide a muffin top. In other words, it is my new best friend. I’m wearing a large, and it is the perfect size for me. I’m able to wear it over a long sleeve shirt without feeling confined or squeezed.

How cute is this Striped Everyday Essential Button-Down Shirt? Before you start asking, this is a normal button-down shirt, but I have it tucked differently than usual. You leave the bottom buttons open, and then pull one side over and tuck it in, and then pull the other side over the top of it, and tuck it in. You might have to play with the tuck to get it to look like you want, but it is super easy, and I’m sure it will look great. I’m wearing a medium, and it is still plenty roomy for me.

I love the large bold stripes of this Sweater Tank. For some reason, this reminds me of something Gidget would wear. (Am I dating myself?) This classic tank will look great for summer or any time of the year since it can be worn under a sweater or jacket. I’m wearing a large, and I think it runs a little small. While it fits, I would prefer it to be a little roomier, so I would size up at least one size in this.

Here is a look at the Sweater Tank with the Plum Essential Cardigan. Layering is an easy way to take your outfits to the next level. Coco Chanel might have suggested “look in the mirror and remove one accessory” before leaving the house, but I suggest adding a layer. It adds dimension and interest to your outfit, and you end up looking more polished.

I wanted to keep this outfit simple and classic, so I added this black Daley Tote Bag. It is a great size that will hold everything you need, and the logo on the front of the bag looks chic!

You’ve seen me wear this style of shoe all summer long. I love the look of these Black Croco Wedge Sandals, especially with the Mid Rise Pull-On Straight Jeans. Wearing dark shoes with dark pants elongates your leg and helps you to look longer and leaner. The Mid Rise Pull-On Straight Jeans fit great and are comfortable to wear. I have on my usual size 8, and they fit great.

Let’s switch things up a little. I want to still stick with the maroon color scheme so that everything mixes and matches easily.

I love a satin shirt since it can be dressed up or down. The Maroon Satin Utility Shirt is beautiful, and it fits great. You can also wear this under a sweater for a different look. To keep the sweater smooth looking, wear a camisole over the shirt and the pockets won’t be an issue. The shirt is available in several colors, and the medium fits me perfectly.

This is a casual look, so I added the beige/sand Sintra Crossbody Bag. I love the woven pattern on the front of the crossbody, and it is a great size for running errands, shopping, etc.

My last look is another casual look. The High Rise Pull-On Flare Jeans are a pair you will love and wear all fall. They have a large enough flare to accommodate boots for fall and winter, and they fit great. I’m wearing my usual size 8, so they run true to size.

The Plum Black Floral Top is the most casual of all the tops I styled today. It looked fabulous with the black jeans also, but I didn’t get a photo of them together. The top is relaxed, so the medium is the perfect size for me. I’m not having to worry about any lumps or bumps showing, and that helps me to feel more confident in my outfit.

I hope you can see how easily it would be to mix and match these items together for more early fall outfits.
