CELEBRATING THE FIRST DAY OF WINTER IN A SNOWFLAKE SWEATER
Welcome to the winter wonderland! Today is the first official day of winter! I’m not a fan of winter weather except for the occasional snow, but I LOVE winter fashion. Sweaters, boots, vests, and puffer coats are just a few winter fashions that have my heart.
The weather has actually been fairly mild this year, but I intend to celebrate the first day of winter with a hot bowl of chili. My dad makes a mean bowl of chili, and he shared the recipe with all of us several years ago. I always make a huge batch that we eat on for a couple of days, and then I freeze the leftovers that I can warm up for lunch later. I took photos, and I’ll do a post about the recipe later, you’ll want to check that out, it’s a great recipe!
There are two major players for bloggers to use when giving you the links to our clothing. I use both of them, but I going to be using one in 2022. Using LTK will make it easy for you to find my outfits in one spot any time you want to go shopping. You can find my looks two different ways, on a computer or laptop by going to SHOPLTK.com or on a phone in the LTK app. You will need to search for 50 Is Not Old in either location and follow me so that I will come up in your feed. Let me know if you need any help navigating this.
Even though the weather isn’t freezing, I’m still finding ways to wear lots of sweaters. When it comes to clothing, sweaters are probably my go-to 80-90 percent of the time. I’ve had some people ask me if snowflake sweaters like this can be worn after Christmas. I consider this print to be a winter print, not a Christmas print. That makes it great for wearing during Christmas and all winter long.
I thought the pink and gray were an unusual color combination for a snowflake sweater, so I had to give it a try. If it is different or unique, then I’ll give it a try. Lol! Maybe that is how I ended up married to Joe! Hahaha! Don’t tell him I said that! I’m wearing a medium sweater, and it fits me great. I still have plenty of room to add a turtleneck or a button-up shirt under it for a different look. Here are some similar sweaters that would be great to wear all winter long.
The sweater is hip length, so not cropped and not a tunic. I would call this a normal length for most sweaters. This length makes it fun to wear a layering tank or long-sleeve shirt underneath and let the hem hang lower than the sweater.
Aren’t these the cutest jeans??? I absolutely love the let-down hem and the slight amount of fraying, and even you ladies who aren’t a fan of distressing can wear these. These jeans don’t give the vibe of distressed, they give the vibe of MODERN. The jeans don’t make you look like you are trying too hard to be young, they look like you are fashionable.
I think these jeans run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 30. However, since I’ve lost some weight, I am in-between sizes, and these are a tad bit loose through the hips and stomach area. I am going to order the 29s and hope that those fit. These jeans look great with ankle boots, but come summer, they will look great with sneakers and sandals.
It’s been a while since I’ve worn my white ankle boots, but I love the look of them. This is a pair that I bought last year, and I’ve worn them a lot last winter and spring. I resisted ordering a pair of white/ivory/cream/off-white boots, for a long time. I have a long foot, and I wear a size 9, so I don’t like calling attention to my feet. I can remember having my cousin tease me that I would have to back up to a door to open it because my feet were so big. With family members like that, who needs enemies, right?
Anyway, I steered away from wearing white shoes, even in the summer months, so I am SHOCKED that I love these booties! This pair is no longer available, and they were a little expensive, so I will try and find some with the same look, but at a lower price point.
My lipstick for the day is called Soft Rose. For the most part, I will wear Soft Rose, Sensual Rose, or Daring Red daily. Sometimes I wear a mix of a couple of these to get the shade that I’m looking for. I have been ordering these from Nordstrom, but when I looked on the CHANEL website, I found more shades that I didn’t know were available, including some limited editions.
Here are the ones that I just ordered; Light Mauve, Soft Coral, and a Golden Top Coat. BTW, these last forever, I’ve not had to re-order a tube and I’ve been using these for a very long time.
I know that a lot of you like to pin outfits on Pinterest. Pinterest has made it harder for people to find the link to visit the creator of the image, so I would appreciate it if you would share the pin with my logo. Hopefully, that will help people find my blog and the links associated with the look.
I hope you liked today’s post. If so, PLEASE remember to pin my post on Pinterest.
Every time you SHARE my posts on Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook, it helps other ladies who might be style challenged to find my blog. Thanks so much for following me on my blog, and be sure to tell all of your friends where to find me.

Love the sweater, the pants…not so much. This length takes me back to school when this length was considered “high water” & most of my pants were high water because I have a 35″ inseam.
The snowflake sweater is really lovely, and smashing on you, Tania. It makes it even better with the white boots. Really looks classy.
Very pretty sweater that looks great on you. Growing up on the California coast, I am not a fan of winter. LIving in Washington state now, it is way too cold for me. The only thing I like about winter is that I can wear all my nice boots! I have a ton of them. I am already ready for spring!!
