FEELING ROMANTIC
I had a blast celebrating my birthday yesterday even though I didn’t do anything special. I slept in late and had a sweet cuddle buddy named Lucy. I actually walked on the treadmill for the first time in ages. And, I got lots of sweet comments on the blog and Facebook wishing me a happy birthday. I have to tell one on Joe, (don’t I always) he called really early to say good morning before he left to go play golf and he forgot to wish me a happy birthday. He knew it but with the guys all standing around and talking he just forgot to say anything.
I snickered to myself because I knew that he would soon remember or see it on Facebook and have to call back. Sure enough, he called a little later and mentioned it. I just burst out laughing and said, “It is a good thing that you got on Facebook, isn’t it?” He laughed too and confessed that Facebook was where he had seen the reminder. Lol! Things like that don’t bother me or hurt my feelings, in fact, we just don’t make a big deal out of birthdays or anniversaries. My Energizer Bunny Friend wanted to know if I was going out for a birthday dinner and I told her yes. I went to Dairy Queen and got myself a blizzard. Hahaha! That is cause I am fancy like that. BUT, let me show you what I bought myself for my birthday.
You have no idea how much I struggled with this purchase. I am a reasonably frugal person and a frivolous purchase is not something that I normally buy, especially when it is expensive. My one weakness has always been handbags. I have been wanting this purse for over a year but I just couldn’t bring myself to actually spend the money. I kept hoping that Rodan + Fields would offer that as an incentive prize but so far that hasn’t happened. Since I couldn’t bring myself to make the purchase I decided to “earn” the purse. I set a very hard goal for myself that I had to meet for 4 months in a row. I did it!!! But, when it came time to make the purchase I just couldn’t do it and I left the store empty-handed. Finally, it dawned on me that I worked for this purchase. I work at the lumber company, the blog, Plunder jewelry, and Rodan + Fields and if making an occasional frivolous purchase makes me happy then why not go for it? Guess what, it is still in the box and I haven’t even taken it out except to show Joe what it was that I bought. I guess I am going to have to learn to take baby steps. Lol!
This blouse by Vince Camuto was part of my Trunk Club shipment and it is pure romance. The ruffled geogette sleeves and overlay give this a flowy feel. The floral pattern is diffused and that just adds to the romance. The inner lining is a knit material and gives you plenty of coverage. This is in the shorter crop style that is so popular right now but it is not really short. This is a great transition length to help you get used to everything not being a tunic. The bateau neck is large enough that this top just slips over your head making is super easy to put on and not have to worry about fastening the tiny buttons. This is machine washable so that is a big plus.
You know that I like different and unique and I found it in the Constance necklace. As soon as I saw this necklace I knew that I wanted it. The mixture of the different prints is so appealing to me and fun. It is a longer necklace at 37″ and would look fantastic on a plain shirt with jeans. I like how there are so many different elements such as the chain, the printed strips of material, the wooden bead and the almost rope-like band. This is different and I like that. The cream tassel earrings are super cute with just a touch of added sparkle. They are the Esperanza and they have a 3″ drop. I am also wearing three new tortoise shell bangles, the Sierra (white), the Suzie (peach), and the Tanesha (seafoam.) May is my 2nd year anniversary with Plunder and I am celebrating all month long. When you make a 50.00 purchase (excluding taxes and shipping) you will receive a FREE piece of jewelry from me as a gift! Join me in the business of Plunder Design this month and I will gift you 2 pieces of jewelry. Go to plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and hit the shop tab. Pick a party with my name on it and then have fun.
I am wearing a dark gray pair of ankle pants today. I think gray is such a wonderful neutral color. It is not as stark as black and is a great alternative. This pair is really old but they will still be in my closet for years to come.
I really appreciate all of the shares and the pins of my outfits that you have been doing. PLEASE continue to do that, you won’t believe the difference it has made in my number of visitors to my blog.

I just bought those gold slides last week!!! They are so comfy! Can’t wait to see which LV you decided on!!! Enjoy.
So sorry I missed your birthday! Happy belated birthday! The outfit truly looks romantic and I must admit Dairy Queen is my go to birthday treat, nothing as tasty as a blizzard!
Happy birthday! Get that special handbag out of the box and USE IT! What are you waiting for?? We all know time goes too quickly! ENJOY IT! You DESERVE IT!!
What a stunning outfit! That top is gorgeous! My daughter who is a real estate agent has wanted a Louis bag for several years finally bought one with money she had made for a house sale. She was the same way she left it in the box. Finally she carried it once and then took it back! She said she just couldn’t do it.
Un box and use the purse! Everyday is a special day! You earned it!
Love the top. It has just enough fluff. I’m pondering the purchase. Mother’s Day weekend: Step-son & family took me to Culver’s on Saturday for frozen custard (a/k/a fattening but yummy). Culver’s is a Wisconsin based chain with a few Illinois restaurants. Daughter & family took me to Dairy Queen on Sunday. Guess we are fancy like that too! I hit the health club yesterday & I’m headed there today. Working off my sweet weekend. Pull that bag out and enjoy it. I don’t have one but i guess I’m cheap like that LOL.
Lovely top ?
Cute outfit? You earned that bag…embrace it…and break it out. We’ll all be waiting to see it.
Some of us live vicariously through you. We need to see that bag! LOL

Love your gift choice! Love Louis! Hope you reveal which bag you chose very soon. This is certainly a cliffhanger. LOL
Wow……LV’s are thousands, I struggle with spending $150 on a purse! To each their own….enjoy the purse….love the blouse!
I want to see your new purse! You sound exactly like me. I have been looking at the bags online for 6 months. I really want one but want to be sure it’s the right one.
Someone told me yesterday the first one was the hardest to buy. After that, it becomes an addiction. Oh goodness, I hope not. Lol!

I agree with Marilyn…Rock That Purse! You deserve it! Love your outfit. I too find gray a wonderful alternative to black especially in spring. Best…Kathy
Yes, Kathy, gray is a wonderful alternative to black. I have several different shades of gray, just not 50 of them. Lol!!!

LOVE the blouse! Very feminine without being over the top. Great outfit on you!
LOVE the outfit!! I really like those gray pants. They look great with a summery top. I was surprised when you said the top was new as I thought you had one similar to that…..?
Marcia, I probably do have a similar top somewhere. Lol! I have so much and then I give so much away too.
Happy Birthday for yesterday!! ?
Wow! A trip to Louis Vuitton…fabulous bags, looking forward to a peek at what you purchased!
