Fall Try-On Haul With Chico’s
My husband had to run to Knoxville yesterday, so I told him that I would tag along for the ride to keep him company. He had an appointment that I knew would take a few hours, so I asked him to drop me off at an outdoor mall that I knew had several stores I shop all side by side. He dropped me off, and I spent the next two hours doing try-on hauls with Chico’s, J.Jill, and Talbots. I had planned on also going into Loft and J.Crew Factory, but unfortunately, his appointment didn’t last long enough. Today’s post is a fall try-on haul with Chico’s, and you’ll see the others soon.
For Sizing Purposes: I’m 5’6″ tall; I wear a size 8 (a .05 in Chico’s sizing), a size 10 or med in tops (a size 1 in Chico’s sizing), and a size 10 or large in dresses (a size 1 in Chico’s sizing).
The lighting was terrible in the dressing room and cast a funky yellow glow. I tried to adjust it the best I could, but some of the colors might not be totally accurate. You can visit the website for a better color representation.
Chico’s is LOADED with lots of leopard print and faux leather right now. I tried a couple of items for you, but they had lots more.
This Leopard Printed Pullover was one I liked because it could be dressed up or down. There was another dressier blouse I liked, but they didn’t have my size for me to try on.
I styled the leopard print pullover in several ways, including these Girlfriend Flare Jeans. These fit really well, and I loved the color.
I didn’t know whether I would like this fringe sweater or not. I love unusual details, and the sweater looked better on than it did on the rack.
Here is another way that I styled the leopard print pullover. I hated the look of the Faux Crocodile Wide Leg Crops when I saw them on the website, but I thought they looked great in person. I didn’t have any heels to wear with them, but that is how I would style them at home.
I found the puffed Quilted Crossbody Bag, and I couldn’t wait to try it with the pants. It is leather and looks very classy and chic! There is a chain shoulder strap that is included, but I carried it like a clutch.
The faux crocodile pants might be out of the comfort zone for some of you, so I tried the cocoa brown ankle pants with them. These are browner in person; this is one of the items that the color isn’t showing correctly.
The camel V-Neck Sweater is a great basic sweater. I love the color, and the snap button details on the sleeves.
I added the Animal Print Oblong Scarf to tie the outfit together. I loved how unusual the scarf was, the pattern changes from one end to the other.
This was the only outfit I didn’t like. I love the individual pieces, just not together. The pants are the same cocoa brown color, and I thought they would look great with the camel sweater above or this paprika cardigan and tank. I didn’t like either of them with the pants. Maybe it is the pants I didn’t like. 🤷♀️
I did like the cardigan and tank. They are available in a few other colors, but this paprika color just looks like fall to me.
You probably can’t tell, but this is a different pair of jeans. These are trouser jeans, and the color is darker than it looks in the photo. They are available in several washes, and these are the medium color.
I hope you enjoyed this quick try-on haul. What items are your favorite???

Loved your outfits. I am just getting to leopard clothes & scarves.

Haha! I bought them!
I shop that Chicos all the time! Thank you for posting this!
You’re welcome! Have a great week. 🙂
Hi Tania,
I am new to your blog and thoroughly enjoy it. In fact, I introduced you to my twin sister and we love to share our thoughts with each other about your cute choices in clothing. Hope you get Lucy Lu’s flea problem under control soon.
Thanks for sharing with your sister.
You were at my favorite shopping “mall” in Knoxville! I almost went there yesterday!
I like the top with the fringe. So cute and different!
The clothes always look better on you than on their website!
cute chick’s stuff!
The fringe sweater is my favorite item in this try on! Love it!
Love it when you do a try- on haul!!
Wow… so, this Chico’s try-on is bringing the heat. All of these neutral, earthy tones for the fall plus the animal prints look classy and chic.
This reminds me to pop into a store the next time we’re near one. The animal print pieces and the elegant, floral ankle pants stand-out and really are favs.
I am glad you like them! Chico’s has so many nice things. I could have stayed there all day!
Love both jeans and the crossbody. Tops are cute too.
I like the top with fringe!
I especially love the top with fringe – so different.
I am a huge Chico’s fan and appreciate this post. My favorites were all the tops, especially the one with the fringe.
I love the leopard print top!
the animal print pullover is pretty and there seems to be many possibilities for combining different outfits.
Like your try-ons! We are similar size, which gives me confidence in choices after seeing you in the clothes. Oh my, the fringe sweater!!
The flared jeans and leopards top are my favs!
You look absolutely beautiful in everything you wear!
I wish! ❤️.
Love the leopard print top!! The floral pants with the sweater set top was an awesome combo!!
Love the animal print
love the fringe sweater.
💕 Chico’s!
Being 5’2″ and size 6ish/XS, I’ve had to give up on Chico’s. They have fewer petite options and the patterns continue to be large and overwhelming. The tops are so boxy! But it remains a great place for the mature tall woman.
They don’t carry as many petite styles as Talbots and J.Jill. 😒
I love the fringe sweater. I think I need to look into that today, because it’s my birthday and I only bought myself one gift already ;-D
Thanks for sharing!!!
Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a great day! ❤️
Hi Tania,
I liked the look of the twinset but not the color. Although it looked very nice on you. I’m a winter so cool colors suit me best.
I love Chico’s. I like the fringe sweater, it adds a little something. I also likethe cardigan and tank, like the buttons on the cardigan .
Chicos always has some great finds. Thanks for sharing some of them with us.
Love the paprika cardigan and floral pants. Thanks for sharing with us.
I like the leopard print pullover a lot, a classic piece to add to my closet. I’m on the fence about Chico’s a lot of times as I can quickly feel frumpy in their styles. Their jeans are great, though. Have a super day!
The leopard print was one of my faves. Thanks for taking the time to comment! 🙂
❤️how you mix and match
I love the outfit with the scarf! The scarf just seems to pull it all together and elevate the look
Oooo I am loving the fringe sweater!! I also have a weakness for animal prints! So ready for it to turn cold here! 🙂
Really love the look of both pair of jeans on you.
I love leopard print, but a little of it goes a long way. The scarf is beautiful and adds just enough leopard print style for me
I like Chico’s & you model clothes well! Thank you.
That fringe sweater is so cute but I wish it came in other colors.
I rather like the printed pants. Maybe a heavier looking sweater but hard to tell not knowing the “weight” of the pants or darker color.
That might help.
Love the leopard print top! Totally agree with you about the pants. Just too busy. Those jeans fit you so well and I love the wash.
Chicos has good quality clothing! Love the leopard print!
I love Chicos. There clothes fit me great and the quality is good. I have the V neck sweater in two other colors I liked the look and feel of it so much. I would like to have a pair of the bridgette pants to go with. Thank You for showing these.
You’re so welcome. Happy shopping!
As usual, another great haul!
Thank you again for the try ones! The link for the Brigitte slit pants did not work me, just so you know!
That’s weird. It worked when I tried it.
Love Chicos! They have quality items and good sales. I love their classic pieces like the non iron shirts and jeans. Thanks for the try one!
love the fringe sweater😍
Those outfits look great on you!
I went in to my local Chicos two weeks ago when jeans were 25% off because I wanted some flares for our anniversary trip. I tried on every flare and wide leg in the store. They were all 3-6 inches too long! I’m 5’5” and wear a size 1. I can’t wear petite because they are too short in the stride. I ended up with some of the new denim crops that are wide legs.
Our trip is for our 40th. I wanted it to be a surprise for me! We leave next Tuesday and I have no idea where we are going! Bill is telling me what to pack! I know it will be fabulous!
Wow, a surprise trip sounds fun! I’d just be safe and pack everything. 🤣
I love your choices at Chicos. Always interesting outfits. Thanks for showing the animal prints!
Tania, I just purchased those dark brown cropped Bridget pants yesterday. Love the fit and the length. I pared them with one of their no iron shirts in a brown and navy print. Both on sale.
Jan, I wish the color had shown up better, but the lighting was horrible.
I did not like the brown patterned pants, either. But I loved the paprika cardigan and tank, the leopard pullover, and all styles of the jeans. You looked great in everything, though. I’ve loved Chico for years and love this preview of their fall clothing. Thank you
You are welcome! I’m glad you find it helpful. ❤️
I am such an old nerd preppy girl. I don’t do animal prints of any kind. My 30 something daughter loves leopard and cheetah print. She even teases me that she is buying me something in it for a gift…. I feel the same way about leather. I think biker babe and just can’t pull it off. I agree with you about the pants, patterns on pants draw attention that most of us 50+ just don’t need. I will look forward to your Talbots try on. I have never quite figured out Chico’s sizing.
Chico’s sizing is a little strange, but after you figure it out, it runs pretty much true to size.
I really liked the leather crops and clutch. I’m just not a fan of animal print on me. I also love the jeans I know you are taller I’m 5’2” do they have petite jeans?
Lori, they carry some petites, but not as many as Talbots and J.Jill.
Agreed. The cardi is cute. The pants? Not so much.
Love the leopard!
