Well, well, well. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday so far. I don’t have any plans for today even though Joe and I talked about going to Baltimore for the weekend. He fell in love with that area about 15 years ago and was talking about it the other night. We bought a boat that was docked in the Inner Harbor at Fells Point, at least that is where I think it was. We never took it out and never really did anything with it, but we would occasionally go there and sit on it. Lol!
Those plans must have gotten ditched because he hasn’t mentioned it since Thursday night. I also have had some plans get ditched although it was nothing that I did. Remember the lady that I trained to take over my job at the lumber company so that I could retire? She QUIT! Today is her last day on the job. Did you all gasp like I did when I found out? So, come Monday, guess who will be going back to work and starting the training process all over again? This time we are going to be doing a detailed, step-by-step, journal of every process that we do. I want anyone who takes this job to know “how” and “when” to do all of the things that I used to do. You never know when that will come in handy. So, today, I am just going to sit back and enjoy the day.

I love the slinky material, I love the deep v-neck, but what I love most is the message. Women who can, should empower other women. There is never a reason to tear another person down and there is always a reason to build someone up. If I am going to wear a message across my chest then I want it to be one that I can stand behind. All at once I heard Helen Reddy in my head singing, I am woman!
Finally!!! I have some of the new fall plunder items and I am so thrilled with everything so far. I know that I did a horrible job showing you the Charma earrings but you can trust me, these are super cute. They are tortoiseshell oval hoops and they are 1.5″ big. There is a matching necklace that I am ordering next called the Maren. Tortoiseshell is one of my favorite prints and I have a lot of jewelry with that print on it. The leopard print cuff bracelet is called the Rochelle. This is really nice and it is a hinged cuff so it is super easy to get on. This is not a flat print on the bracelet, it is hair so it looks really expensive. My little ballet slippers are very old. I have had these at least 3 or more years and for me, that is a long time. These are by Isaac Mizrahi and they are really comfortable. I wore these when I was on my way to New Orleans in the airport. I can walk in them for long periods of time and they were easy to slip on and off to go through security. You can become fashionable simply by wearing a leopard print shoe. People will look at you in a whole different way when you put these babies on. Lol!
You would be surprised at how many women I saw in New Orleans wearing fringed hem jeans. This must be a huge trend right now because they were everywhere. I love this pair that I bought by Reba back a couple of months ago. These are more affordable than most other fringed jeans that I have seen. I am wearing my normal size which is a 10. This was my first purchase by this brand but I don’t think that it will be my last. Here are a couple of other things that I have my eye on. I am really considering the black fringe jeans. What do you think?
Whenever I get a phone call from a telemarketer I will say “no, thank you” and then hang up. How many of you are saying no, thank you every day? How many of you can think of something that you wish you had said yes to but you turned down the opportunity? I have heard Joe tell about some man who had the opportunity to be a part owner of this company but he turned it down. The company went on to become HUGE and the poor man talks about the missed opportunity now all the time. It is like his “glory days” that he missed out on. Today’s question is hard. So sorry to hear about retraining someone for your job. Sometimes or most of the time, thats a blessing in disguise.
I’ve said no to many things, either personally or professionally, but one thing that stands out is taking a teaching job in another state. I’d be in a different place now, but Ive realized things happen for a reason and I’m happy with my decision.

I really can’t think of a missed opportunity that I regret. Though my husband might disagree. He’s the risk taker and I’m more on the conservative side, I have to weigh all the options. He likes to say he’s the dreamer and I’m the dream crusher ?

Great shirt! It would also be a great shirt for Sororities to wear during Rush. I remember saying no to travel if it wasn’t going to the beach. But that was in my younger years and now I want to just travel-just about anywhere will do.
Just be very clear that you are returning to retrain….Not Returning To Work!!!! Yikes those wonderful husbands have a way of sucking us back in!!! I regret not taking a job that I was offered when I graduated college. It was out of state and I didn’t want to leave my family. I wish I had been more adventurous! Best…Kathy
I too have a good friend, I call her my wise friend, who sent me that phrase about empowering women, in an email! I’m sure I’ve said no to small trips and little things that come and go, but a big missed opportunity, well, I can’t think of any. I said not to a principal position at the school where I teach…but don’t regret it! Love classroom too much!

Wow she didn’t last long in your job. I know th feeling of training again. Sometimes when people are hired they don’t really think about all the job entails. You are smart tojournal nstructions. I am trying to think of a missed opportunity and I think it would be more education. When I became a wife and mother I wasn’t thinking career wise in the future. Love the shoes. Have a restful day.

Oh no! Poor you having to return to work on Monday. At least there is someone already appointed for you to train. It will be nice also to spend some time with old friends and workmates.
Here in the UK I dont know of anywhere that sends out jewellery like your ‘Plunder’ or clothes like you receive every month. It would be wonderful to look forward to getting. You get some fabulous necklaces and I am a sucker for a necklace.
