DAUGHTER OF THE KING

Every week I start by praying for a topic to be given to me for the Sunday post. I love sharing my love of the Lord with all of you, but  I am transparent in the fact that I am a struggling Christian just doing the best that I can. So, when this topic kept going through my mind, I took it as a sign that it was what I was supposed to talk about. The problem was that I didn’t know what to say. The phrase that I kept  hearing over and over was, “you are a King’s daughter.” Stop for a minute and let that sink in. Not only are you a King’s daughter, but you are “THE” King’s daughter. You are the daughter of God, an offspring of divine proportions. Talk about a family tree; this is something that should make you stand tall with pride.

The other day, I was teasing Joe that I had gotten a friend request from a “prince” something. I told him that he needed to be watching his P’s and Q’s because I  might have options. He gave them me the eye roll, and I told him that I didn’t even need a prince since I was already the daughter of a King!

A daughter is a cherished possession. A daughter is doted on, catered to, and can always have her Father’s ear. She is a member of the Royal family. Does this sound like you? Don’t worry; I didn’t think that it sounded like me either.

Psalm 45:13

13 The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

Okay, as a clothing junkie, I have to admit that the “clothing of wrought gold” is pretty appealing. But, even more appealing that clothing of gold, is the knowledge that I am a cherished member of His family. I know that His love for me is not contingent on my activities. I know that He does not expect me to be perfect, He knows that I am flawed and He loves me anyway. I do not need to impress Him, but I want to please Him. He is my Father! He is my Savior! He is my Lord!

Isaiah 43:1

43 But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.

I hope that this message has given you something to think about. Feel free to add Princess to your title the next time that you send a friend request.

Have A Blessed Day!
