CROCHET DETAILS AND KICK FLARE PANTS
I think my husband might have pulled a fast one over on me. Monday was SUPPOSED to have been my first official day in retirement and instead, I ended up going to work (twice) and helping out to make sure that payroll was done correctly. We figured that people don’t care as much if inventory is off or a price is entered incorrectly, but that they get ill when their paychecks are wrong. Lol! So, I went and guided her through the process again to make sure it went smoothly.
Here is the part where Joe pulled one over on me. He decided to be nice to my replacement since she was taking on different responsibilities so he told her that the condo had a couple days available if she wanted to go down and stay. Of course she did, so she took off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week. ?Guess who has to go in and make sure that everything is running alright. Joe just laughed and laughed when I called him out on this. I told him that the least that he could do was to have at least waited until around September before he decided to give her some time off. But, NO, he had to do it right now. Lol!!!
Did you notice the more natural look to my makeup today? I don’t have on any lipstick, foundation, or very much blush. I know that some of you don’t want to put on a full makeup routine so today I did my 5-minute face. I hope to be able to do some tutorials on makeup and hair, etc. in the coming future since I might have more time on my hands. Today’s look is one of those that can be worn anywhere. It is comfortable, casual, but still dressy enough for most occasions. This is an old top that I bought at Cato Fashions at least 3 years ago. I liked the top because of the crochet hemline and the fringing around the arms and neck. It made a white tank top something special instead of just another boring white top.
I think this may be the first time that I have worn the Nina earrings. They remind me of a dream catcher or Indian style jewelry. That is not a style that I normally gravitate towards but I do like to try new styles so I decided to give it a try. They are cream with light blue and gold beads on them. The bracelet that I have on is an extremely popular one. It is called the Frankie and it has sold out of stock twice already. It is easy to see why because I love the multi-strands of leather strips and especially the leopard print one. I wore the Mckensie necklace the other day and I saw that a lot of you really liked it and I do also. I like monogram jewelry to begin with but it is all the multi-colored stones that I love. If you are interested in any of the Plunder jewelry, then go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and you can see it all online. If you are one of those that need a catalog to hold in your hand then just shoot me an email tofiftyisnotold@gmail.com with your address and I’ll try to get one in the mail to you.
I know that straw and rattan handbags are really hot right now. This one is a vintage purse that I have had for years and I thought it was perfect for the current trend. Moral of the story………never throw anything away. Lol!!! Have you tried the kick flare style of pants yet? I admit that this is a style that has taken me a while to hop on board with. I see it on some ladies and I love it and then on others, not so much. This pair of pants was in my Trunk Club shipment back in April and I wore them when I was in Nashville (here) and I haven’t really worn them since. I liked them better today probably because the top I have on is longer. Do you like the kick flare or it is something that you will pass on?

Oh I love those kind of pants and your casual makeup look is amazing! You still look all put together and glowing! I can’t believe your husband ket the new girl off work after 2 weeks! Bet shesh loving this job!
Love the natural make-up look but remember that my Mom did not wear a lot of make-up but never failed to have on lipstick! A little eye make-up, a little blush, but always lipstick! Just brightens and balances!
Not funny Joe. Tania, love the outfit!
Not a big fan of the kick flare pants but that’s why it’s nice we don’t all dress the same. I love white blouses/tanks as they just make me feel so summery! Oh boy….you are handling the replacement taking off less then one week into retirement better then I would be…especially when you had to go back in already to supervise payroll! Now she’s going to have to remember how to do everything when she gets back. I bet she really likes her boss 😉
They look great! I would definitely wear those pants – so cute!! My favorite color!!
I think that was really nice of Joe offering the condo to your replacement. What a great boss!
I guess he didn’t want you to get “bored”!! ?
I dont see me wearing the kick flare pants but i really like them on you in this outfit.
I’m not on Facebook, so will you please consider linking the R&F specials to the blog?
I am seriously considering the lash boost and could use some more lip serum.
I really like this outfit….. I wasn’t crazy about the kick flare crops but you styled them beautifully. I think I’d do a shorter necklace so it doesn’t compete with the embellishment but that’s just me. Sorry your retirement was so short lived. ? at least a couple of weeks would have been nice!!
Natural suits you Tania very pretty ? I wasn’t sure about the frayed/kick flare trend so I cut up the bottoms of an old pair of jeans and did my version and I love them and got some compliments ☺️
Hey Tania, this is a beautiful outfit. I particularly like the shoes. Where did you buy them?
Thanks, Ana. Those are a pair of Marc Fisher espadrilles that I bought a year or so ago from QVC.
