ON COLD RAINY MORNINGS, I LIKE TO STAY SNUGGLY WARM
Good morning, everyone. Have you had your cup of coffee yet? I’m moving kind of slow this cold rainy morning, and I am enjoying my second cup of coffee before I have to take Lucy Lu outside for her morning business. She is in the other room eating, Joe is still sleeping, and I am sitting here all snuggly warm in my robe and slippers, dreading the time when I have to go out into the rain.
I love snuggly warm robes, and I especially love this plush one since it is part of the Vera Bradley, Patterns with Purpose collection. With every purchase of Hope Blooms and Hope Blooms Pink — 5% of the purchase price goes to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer through October 31.
Vera Bradley has raised more than $37.5 million for breast cancer research, but they are not stopping until a cure is found.
My coffee seems to taste better on rainy mornings when I drink it from a cute cup. Lol! This 12oz. Ceramic coffee mug is in the pattern Rain Forest Canopy, and I love the girlie pink color, especially since it goes well with my robe. The mug comes in several patterns, so check them all out and see which one has your name on it.
Usually, my coffee comes with me as I venture out in the morning with Lucy Lu. But, cold rainy mornings like this have drizzling rain, so I grabbed the Hope Blooms mini umbrella.
I bought this mini umbrella to throw in my handbag. Look at how tiny this thing is!!! When I was recently in Nashville, I experienced rainy mornings almost every day, and I kept getting soaked. I said then that I was going to find an umbrella that would be lightweight, fit in my bag, and still be large enough to keep me dry.
The mini umbrella is big enough for me, but Lucy Lu isn’t happy with the idea that she is going to get her paws wet. She refused to go into the grass, so I stepped out in hopes that she would follow me. These cozy life slippers aren’t for walking in wet grass, but they kept my feet dry.
Lucy Lu wouldn’t budge, so I picked her little tail up and took her out into the yard. I figured her paws were going to get wet one way or the other, so she might as well do her business. Lol!
I was sure glad that the robe was so warm and plush since the rain was kind of chilly. Lucy Lu finally gave in and used the bathroom. Then, she decided that she liked wet grass because she wouldn’t come back.
I had to laugh at her running around and trying to catch a bird that was in a tree. The hood on the robe is excellent for when you first get out of the shower. I freeze when my hair is wet, and grabbing this plush robe keeps me cozy and warm.
Cooler weather with misting rain chilled me to the bone, so I decided to snuggle for a while under this plush throw blanket in the Hope Blooms pattern.
Lucy Lu must have gotten a chill, too, because she soon started trying to get under the covers with me. This is common for Lucy, whether she is chilled or not. She is my snuggle bunny and always wants to be right beside me.
This throw is nice and plush, so it didn’t take long for both of us to warm up. Lucy had to stick her head out once she warmed up; I was perfectly content to stay put for a little longer, though. The Hope Blooms plush throw is generously sized (50″ x 80″) for keeping warm and toasty. And, you can also personalize this throw if you want to gift it as a present.
This photo might be confusing, but I wanted to show you one more item I recently purchased from Vera Bradley. A week or so ago, I posted about the bedding I used and how Joe would always throw off the comforter into the floor. He is not a fan of comforters because he gets too hot. He doesn’t mind a blanket on the bed, but I think that my gray blanket looks blah and boring.
Ta-da! I have found a solution to my bedding problem. When I looked through the HOME portion on the Vera Bradley website, I came across this plush throw blanket in king size. Our bedroom walls are sage green, and I knew this plush blanket would look great on my bed.
Look at how much nicer this looks!!! The plush blanket gives me the style that I want, and it keeps Joe happy since it is only a blanket. The great thing about this pattern is that it would go with so many color schemes, but it looks fantastic with my sage wall. BTW, ignore the pillows that don’t match. Lol! I like a satin pillowcase, while Joe prefers a regular one.
I hope you have enjoyed this glimpse into my morning routine. Now, I am off to re-heat my coffee and get ready to start my day. Be sure to check out all of the Patterns with Purpose items. Remember, with every purchase of Hope Blooms and Hope Blooms Pink — 5% of the purchase price goes to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer through October 31. Nice blog and gorgeous lady! Shame about the weather. But better days is just around the corner, i always like to think! Great photos still. 🙂 I´d be a gentleman and lay my jacket out for both of you to stay dry if i was there…Or just lay flat on my back in it myself if that wasn´t enough, so you could walk on me! 😉 Have a nice weekend!
