CLOTHING THAT SERVES MORE THAN ONE PURPOSE
TODAY is the day! This is the day that we have been waiting for since November 1st and it has finally arrived. I am talking about Groundhogs day, of course. Woohoo! Today is the day we get to find out if we can put winter behind us or if we need to go out and start chopping wood. The big question of the day is, “will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow?”
This is just a BIG weekend all the way around. Besides today being Groundhog’s Day; Sunday is Superbowl Sunday. That is almost a holiday in a lot of households, and I am betting there is going to be a lot of partying going on. The Stephens household will NOT be one of the partying bunch since we are not huge sports fans. I love to watch football, but it is not something that I have to watch constantly. I will watch for a few minutes, get up and do something else, go back and watch, play on the computer, or a host of other activities but I think you get the idea. I don’t have a team that I am rooting for, so that makes it not as interesting. I hope there will be some good commercials this year. It is funny how the Superbowl is the only game where you run to watch the commercials instead of taking that time to go and fix yourself a drink. Lol!
Gurl’s do you remember when I picked this robe/cardigan as a gift that I would love for Christmas? I wanted it sooo badly, but you know that I like to make sure that I get my monies worth from an item, and I was not sure that paying $109.00 for a robe was the best use of my money. The other day I was on Talbots, it is one of my favorite stores, and I noticed this robe pop up again. I was surprised that it was still available and I couldn’t help from going to look at it again. Oh my goodness, it is on sale and so cheap. I ordered immediately, and I just got this in a few days ago. It is so thick and heavy, and even though I am not showing you, it is lined on the inside! I know the sizes will sell out fast so hurry if you are interested. I bought a medium since I knew that I would wear it as a cardigan sometimes and I didn’t want it to be too big. The medium is perfect for both a robe and a cardigan. Good luck with getting your size. Here is the link.
These cream hoop earrings are called the Esperanza. I love the gold and crystal accents that are on these. I don’t wear these as often, but I like them a lot. The Jane necklace is a necklace that has been in the Plunder catalog for years. The reason is that it is gorgeous and very popular. It has a large pearl with a lobster claw attached, but the pendant does not come with the necklace. Here are some different pendants that you can choose from, or you could add one of your own.
I love my bright red pumps from Michael Kors that I bought at Christmas time. I found them on sale, and I grabbed them quickly. I always check the sales portion of all the websites I am ordering from before I hit the submit button. There might be one more item that I need and getting it on sale makes me happy. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching you might need a red shoe to go with your outfit. I would love to see this shoe with a pair of jeans, a white shirt, and a black jacket. I think that I will have to make that picture happen. Lol!

Thanks, Tania! I have been looking for a warm, long red sweater for ages. Just ordered this one! No mediums left, so I ordered my usual small. Here’s hoping!
Love this outfit!! Yes-your followers are so nice and sweet!! I felt like I was hanging with a bunch of girlfriends!! I loved it!! Thanks everyone! And thank you Tania!!
Loved the bandb Blog! I hope you will feature Thompson Hill, as well.
I sure will feature, Susanne! I had her on once but she is such a doll that once is not enough. Lol!
Wow, that robe looks great as a cardigan, and I love how you styled it. I think it could go very classy/ elegant with a black tailored pant and black tunic underneath.
Very pretty robe/cardigan and price is unbelievable. No one would ever know it was a robe. Now that’s what I call a tip. No Super Bowl for us. Actually enjoying Nashville this weekend and going to a concert! Just me and my husband for a change. But wouldn’t miss your blog. ?
Love your sweater / robe thank you for sharing the link! I’m in my early 60’s and have always been a “jeans / t-shirt” girl, I always assumed I would somehow just grow out of this phase! I have zero fashion sense!!! I do however really like your style and the way you put things together! I’m so glad to find your blog and slowly but surely am incorporating some style into my life!!!
I am so glad that you found my blog and I hope that I can help you in some way.
Love today’s look! And we all love a bargain!
Me too, Connie!
This “robe” sure looks cute masquerading as a sweater! I am a so so football fan…sometimes I watch a whole game….sometimes I watch bits & peices or not at all. But, for years Super Bowl has been a great excuse for getting together with our friends to eat, drink and socialize. And watch a little football ?
I could go for a good party but that would mean that I had to clean my house. Lol!
Am loving this outfit Tania. It looks fabulous on you xx happy super bowl weekend
Lisa
Thanks, Lisa!
I would have never guessed this to be a robe…who knew!!! I love red on you. I could use that right now as our furnace is out this morning and the repairman is going to his daughters basketball game before coming to fix it. Good thing it has warmed up to 33 degrees outside 🙂
Oh my goodness. I hope the furnace is fixed ASAP!
Thank you, Tania! I ordered the robe/cardigan…very excited!
Let me know what you think of it when it comes.
I’ve got to go get all are snacks for the game today. You look so great in red!!

Snacks are one of the festivities that we will do.
I love your outfit! You are the only fashion blogger I follow who loves color, especially red! I love it❤️Enjoy your Weekend!
I am colorful in everything except my language. Haha
My husband used to be a big Steelers fan, years ago. And would watch the super bowls. Not anymore. We don’t even watch the commercials. Lol. No interest. So no party at our house either.
Love the color red too.
I have always liked watching football and I SWEAR it has nothing to do with the tight pants. Lol!
If the collar can be buttoned down then it’s a button down shirt. If there are no buttons to secure the collar tabs then it’s a button up shirt. That’s how my mom explained the difference to me. I love Super Bowl Sunday… all the food, and family is great. We are big football fans here and are hopeful to see our team there in a few years!!! Go Browns! Best….Kathy
Thanks!!!! I have always wondered but was too lazy to look it up. Haha!
So glad to know our family isn’t the ONLY one not partying on Super Bowl Sunday. Like you, we will have it on, but for me, the commercials are the best part-and maybe the half-time show. Have a great weekend!
No parties going on here. Lol!
There is nothing better than a bargain and this looks a super cosy bargain. Red is my favourite colour but more so through the dull winter. Have a lovely week end – love – Jill x
You are right, Jill, the robe was super cozy!
