If you are not a weekly subscriber to my Saturday newsletter then you missed out on my big news. Just another reason why you want to subscribe to that, you don’t want to be missing out on big news and extra photos. Sooooo, my news is that my Alaska Ashleigh is coming home. I don’t know how long that she will be staying but it will be for at least the rest of the winter!!! She might divide her time between my moms and my sister’s houses but that is still way better than being all the way in Alaska. She will make her decision on what she is going to do once the first of the year rolls back around, or that is at least the plan.AND, there is even bigger news! I “might” be going to meet her in Seattle and driving with her across the country. WHAT??? This is a trip of a lifetime and definitely something to mark off of a bucket list. This is outside of my comfort zone! Two women traveling by themselves across the country is not the smartest thing that I have ever done. Joe is worried about the blog. He wanted to know if I would be able to style outfits, have wifi, or would this be too much for me? I am already starting to think about different posts that I might do. Maybe one of making ????? outfits with a small amount of clothing. Or, maybe one on how to pack for a long trip in a small suitcase. If you have suggestions be sure to let me know. I am excited at the thought and terrified at the thought all at the same time. Right now I am already fighting with my daughter who wants to buy a dog along the way home. NO!!!! There are certain patterns that will always be in style. Stripes, florals, plaid, animal prints, and polka dots are classic patterns that will be around for a L O N G time. There might be a trend, such as a funky sleeve or a high/low hemline, that might make the clothing item a trendy item instead of a classic item. But, if you pick a classic pattern and a classic style, then you can keep your clothing item for years and it still is just as relevant as the day you purchased it. The shirtdress is also a classic style. The shirtdress is extremely versatile and can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion.I added another classic to the look, pearls, but with a trendier statement. The Chantilly necklace is a cluster of teardrop shaped pearls on a gold chain and it is adjustable up to 33.75″ long. I added the Gentry earrings which are on the trendier side also. If I had added the Lena earrings and the Alicia necklace, then it would have been more toward a classic style. Accessories can really change the look of an outfit. Because I was adding trendier jewelry items to the look, I also added a trendier style shoe. The lucite heeled shoes are all the rage right now. I love the look but the pair that I have on is just a tiny bit too tall for even me. I wish that I had sent them back and got one of the ones that I am linking to below.
I have on a Treasure & Bond midi shirtdress that I got in my last Trunk Club shipment. I love the long and lean look of this dress. Lucy Lu didn’t seem near as impressed. Lol! If you are interested in Trunk Club then go here to sign up and check it out. I made a video and published it on Saturday’s post about my morning skincare routine. That is how “I” do the routine but that does not mean that it is the perfect or only way to use these products. I also get asked a lot about products that I use, other than a full regimen. My Energizer Bunny Friend and I just did a list of our favorite products, so here you go:
Lash Boost – I LOVE having lashes for the first time in my life!!!!
Active Hydration Serum – This product is perfect for ALL skin types, even those who are sensitive or acne prone. Will infuse up to 200% hydration with the first use. For the neck up.
Intensive Renewing Serum – If you can only use ONE product for anti-aging, then this needs to be the one!
Active Hydration Body Replenish – Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking Active Hydration and making it for the rest of the body.
Redefine AMP MD System – Combines the Intensive Renewing Serum with the RF Derma Roller to help you achieve firmer looking skin.
Everyone who purchases one of these items as a Preferred Customer (in any combination as long as it totals 80.00) will receive a pack of the brand new Essential Instant Makeup Remover wipes from me. This is a TODAY ONLY special. Message me if you have any questions.

How exciting! I would love a road trip with my girls. You girls will have so many fond memories of this adventure. I agree with Jeannie that it would not be fun with a (new) dog for sure. The poor thing won’t even know you yet, and like you said if your daughter is away for long periods of time, you know who will end up with the dog.
Those shoes are stunning! You wear the shirt dress well! Maybe blog on traveling clothes. Your daughter should foster a dog and only if she has the time. I work PT and I’m off on Fridays so I help friends that work full time take care of pets. Blessings!
Absolutely love this dress on you. You look amazing but this dress just accentuates your slim profile. Just a great line on the body. Shoes are so stinking cute but can’t wear that high of heels.
Congratulations on your daughter coming home and your road trip. Nothing as fun as time spent with grown daughters. Can’t wait to read about your journey!
Tomorrow my son and his girlfriend are driving a rental truck from NV to NJ with a 1 year old large lab. They were going to tow a car with a trailer too, but my husband stepped in and paid for her car to be shipped separately, specifically because of the dog. While they’ve stocked up on food and chew toys, I’m going to buy some calming treats and a soft mat for their dog to prevent his paws from damaging the seats. I remember when my brother drove someone else’s Cadillac cross country and on the last day he hadn’t noticed that his dog chewed through the white leather seats in the back. Can’t say what happened to the dog or the seats, but I just know you gotta be prepared for anything.
Thank you!
I have tried to subscribe to the Saturday things 3 times – since you first mentioned it. It hasn’t worked, for some reason.
Same with me! ?
I’ll add you too, Kelly. I have no idea why this silly thing is making it so hard for everyone.
I’ll do it for you, Julie!

I have been asking you for awhile to do a piece on under garments. What to wear under to smooth the lumps and bumps. Please.
