A CLASSIC PUMP AND ANKLE PANTS

The weekend was awesome! I am sure a lot of you probably feel the same way. Mine had family and friends visiting and a vintage fashion show. My mom and her friend Donna hold several vintage fashion shows each year and they have been so good to help out our Woman’s Club with this unique and FUNdraiser. We get the ticket money from the door and a percentage of the sales. This year the attendance was down but we still managed to raise over 400.00. For one day’s work that isn’t too bad.We had several lucite purses in the show which were gorgeous. These purses were carried by celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and they were expensive even back then. We had mink stoles, leopard jackets (for a little girl), aprons, evening gowns, and even a negligee. I refrained from buying a huge amount of items but I did buy a Hobe bracelet, a needlepoint purse depicting the city of Paris, and a black fur hat. The pintucked poet top is from Cato Fashions. It is in one of the top colors this year, raspberry. I know it looks redder in this picture but it has a lot of pink in it. This top is really lightweight and is made from a gauze type material. It is really a little thinner than I would have liked and the next time I wear it I will wear a camisole under it.

I decided I needed a little “bling” today so I started with the Ava necklace. The bling factor doesn’t show up very well in the photos but it has a lot of sparkles. The earrings are called Stacey. They are a 1.25 stud earring that is covered in small rhinestones. The Gwen and the Malti bracelets are two new items in the Fall catalog. The Gwen is an elastic bracelet but the Malti has a lobster claw closure. When I went to Charleston with my Energizer Bunny Friend she said she needed to buy a pair of black pumps and they looked identical to these. Then she went on the call them, “old lady shoes.” WHAT???? I told her they were classics and she agreed. I think that she associates classic and vintage with “old.” That is okay because I got my revenge this weekend. Guess who ended up having to fill in for a missing model at the vintage fashion show? Lol!!! Guess who ended up loving several of the outfits and ended up buying those “old lady” clothes. Hahaha! I love converting the young to vintage clothing.

When I bought the raspberry top I picked out these black and white print ankle pants to wear with it. I loved the tiny geometric print of these pants and Joe complemented me SEVERAL times during the day on this outfit. I bought my normal size large but I could have worn a medium I believe. They are a little baggy so I will remember that on Thanksgiving. Lol! Everyone needs a pair of pants that have a little forgiveness in them for that date.
