THIS UNUSUAL PHEASANT CARDIGAN IS PERFECT FOR THANKSGIVING
Now that it is officially November, I guess it is fine to start planning our Thanksgiving dinner, right? Along with my dinner plans, I start looking for my perfect for Thanksgiving outfit. I am overjoyed that my daughter is coming home this year, especially since I haven’t seen her since January of 2020. I don’t know when your family eats your Thanksgiving dinner, but ours is always late in the evening. We usually don’t eat until around 6 or 7, and it has even been later than that.
We either have a large breakfast on Thanksgiving and no lunch so that we are hungry once the dinner is served. Sometimes, especially if we eat later than we intended, it is too long between meals. So, this year, I think that we will do a brunch instead of a large breakfast. My grandchildren from Tennessee are coming up this weekend, so I think that I will do a trial run to see how this turns out. Stayed tuned for an update later this month.
Earlier this month, I showed you some mix and match outfits that were perfect for Thanksgiving. Those sweater pants are great for when you eat a large meal but don’t want everyone to see you unbuttoning your pants. Lol! I figure that most of you might be wearing jeans on Thanksgiving, so I decided to show you an outfit with jeans. But, I couldn’t make up my mind on what shoes I liked, so I styled the outfit with three different pairs. Lol!
I was very happy with my Charming Pheasant cardigan, and as soon as I saw it online, I thought that it would be perfect for Thanksgiving. I know that it is pheasant on the cardigan and not a turkey, but I still think that it reminds me of Thanksgiving. You gurls will have to let me know if I am the only one who thinks this.
The website paired the cardigan with a denim shirt, and I saw one lady comment that she loved wearing hers with blue so it matched the band around the pheasant’s neck. I went with brown since that was a major color theme, but you could wear several different colors.
I am wearing a large so that I could wear a turtleneck or long sleeve sweater under it, and I think that this size was a good choice for me.
Here is the length of the cardigan, and it seems to hit me around the hip length. Not quite long enough for leggings, but still a nice length.
I forgot to take a photo of the label of the jeans that I have on. When you take photos of several different outfits, you forget what pants you have on. Most of the time you can tell what shirt or shoes that you are wearing, but jeans are a different story. I am thinking that these are a pair of girlfriend jeans that I just got. They look a tad bit slimmer than boyfriend jeans, so that is my clue. These may not be as expandable as the sweater pants, but I think they are perfect for Thanksgiving. I am wearing a size 1 in the jeans if that is the right pair. Lol!
I’ve carried this camel leather tote all summer long, and now I’ll be carrying it for fall. I told you that this was a great neutral color for a handbag, and if you are the type that doesn’t like to change bags, this is for you. The bag comes with a strap so that you can carry it over your shoulder or as a crossbody, but I like carrying it with the handle.
Are you nodding your head that you would rather wear flats for Thanksgiving than heels? These Tory Burch ballet flats are a pair that I’ve had for several years, and they look brand new still. I wear them all year round because they are a great neutral, just like the handbag. These easily slip on, they’re comfortable, they are a classic ballet style, and they are perfect for Thanksgiving. I am wearing my usual size 9, so I think they run TTS. If you are between sizes, then I might size up.
Now for the jewelry, I am wearing. The jewelry is simple and understated for these looks. I want to wear this on Thanksgiving, and a longer necklace might get the way of cooking. I can throw one on when dinner is ready, but I like the cardigan being the star of the show.
Hoop Earrings // Cross Gold Vermeil Necklace // David Yurman Bracelet
This is the last pair of shoes for you, and they are another neutral pair. I have a lot of neutral shoes because they go with anything, but sometimes you need a different style.
These suede chunky heel pumps are fabulous. The heel is not that high at 1 3/4″, so I think that most of you could manage this shoe. I love the pointy toe since it will elongate your legs and make you look tall and lean. This shoe is on sale at 40% off, and there are several different colors and styles to choose from. I am wearing the cognac suede, even though it looks much darker on the website.

I love all of your outfits! I’ve been expanding my wardrobe and trying new outfits because of you. Thank you!!!
I am ordering that sweater! And could you tell me where you got the kimono you modeled about a month ago? Blue/rust) It is Not the one you most recently modeled with pink in it. Thx!!
Love your outfits. You give us ladies great ideas for shopping. Thank you
You look fabulous! Love the suede shoes, have to order them in cognac! Thanks for the ideas!
Interesting sweater! Fun for the holiday. Enjoy having your daughter home.
Love the sweater.
Lovely sweater. I prefer the suede pumps.
Really love the sweater! Looks great with the brown! Also just really love that little dog and enjoy looking for her!
Love the suede shoes!
They likely had some sort of fowl at the first Thanksgiving, but it was likely not turkey. I use Fitz and Floyd pheasant and quail on my dining table, so this was PERFECT for me! So! Thank you Tania!
I really love this look!
That color combination is fabulous on you. I’d so get that cardigan if it was more in my price range for a seasonal layer.
What a nice looking, yet unusual cardigan. A bit pricey for me though, for something I wouldn’t wear that often. You look great in it and the entire outfit.
Tried to order the suede pumps… hoping the Cognac color will become available in my size. Thank you for all your great advice. I also enjoy your Bible verses and prayers.
Perfect fall outfit! Love the sweater! Sounds like lots of family fun times ahead!
This is a fun fall outfit, perfect for Thanksgiving! I love the way you paired the camel tote with different shoes to change up the look.
Love the sweater!
What a great cardigan!! Love it!!
I love the pheasant cardigan! It is the perfect length. Kim
I love this look for Thanksgiving! I like the TB shoes the best. JMO
I love the suede pumps! They are the right height and color to elongate the leg. The sweater I’m not so sure about. Yes, it’s cute, but not my cup of tea. I would not wear it often enough to justify it hanging in my closet.
You look great in the brown & creams in the sweater!
I shop a lot at Talbots, Love the sweater and the outfit.
Love your outfit! And yes, your pheasant sweater does make me think of Thanksgiving! Your entire outfit is fabulous! You always look great. Keep the ideas coming 😃
What a great cardigan with the pheasant. I think it’s perfect for Thanksgiving and the fall season. I also like the brown top and blue jeans, great combination. Thanks for sharing.
I agree the pheasant reminds me of Fall and Thanksgiving. I grew up in the Midwest, pheasants all over the fields this time of year, beautiful ringnecks. I love the sweater.
Love the pheasant. Definitely reminds me of Thanksgiving.
Thanks for all the shoe options. I am always looking for flesh-toned shoes, and those chunky-heel pumps are terrific! You always give me inspiration on how to look put-together, especially getting the accessories right.
Love, love, love the pheasant cardigan!!! It makes a really cute outfit for Thanksgiving!!
I have a lot of the Charming cardi’s from Talbots. They have the same neckline of the sweater you are wearing. I always wear a crewneck tee with them. Recently I have noticed they really look kind of bad. I really don’t care for scoop neck tops. Maybe it looks so different because quite frankly think I am shrinking. Any recommendations? I was really thinking of donating them.
I love the sweater. It reminds me of a sweater I bought from The Sundance Catalog several years ago.
This looks like a great outfit. Brown certainly looks great on you. Outfit looks well put togehter and confortable.
What a great outfit! Perfect for Thanksgiving.
I’m so sorry you are having issues with your website. Looks like it is fixed. Love the sweater. Can’t wait to hear how the trial run goes this weekend.
Love the sweater and the outfit! You and I are basically the same size, so it’s nice to know how the sizes fit you. This is a perfect Thanksgiving outfit, and I also would wear the sweater with jeans. I’m so glad you got your site fixed….,I love your blog!
Thank you for sharing your outfit with flats. I never wear pumps with jeans. Sometimes wedge heel sandals in summer. I feel like an old woman if I wear pumps with jeans. Please show more shoe options with jeans. I just ordered a lug sole boot that I hope works. I am looking for a cute loafer as I see so many of those and I am seeing a lot of mules. I love your blog. Lots of cute inspiration.
Love the sweater. Frankly pheasants are much more attractive than turkeys, lol
Love the sweater! Will head to Talbots to check it out!
Very pretty sweater. Love all the colors you can pull from it, and yes definitely Thankgiving comes to mind. We eat mid day and graze the rest of the day. Love Thanksgiving and all the food, family, and friends. .
Cute cardigan
I like the TB flats the best. I go with comfort myself. I’ll be on my feet a lot. Maybe they are Chico’s jeans? Going by the size 1. I love this look for Thanksgiving. The elite prob do eat pheasant under glass while we struggle along with plain ole turkey. LOL
I love this outfit. Thanks for sharing!
I love the sweater! Something about a turkey sweater would seem less chic.
LOVE THIS OUTFIT!
Wished I could pick my clothes out from your closet every day! Lol
Cute cardigan! With my coloring I’d probably wear a mulberry-colored top with it, but the brown looks great on you.
This is a perfect choice for a Thanksgiving outfit. You and I are exactly the same height and weight so I’m glad to know that the large sweater worked best for you. Do you have the source for the brown top? I really like that look. I enjoy our blog so much and have purchased waaaaay too many of your suggestions. lol
k
I’m pretty sure that the brown top was the same one that I wore with the plaid moto jacket yesterday. However, the tank that I wore from this post would also work. https://50isnotold.com/outfits-for-thanksgiving-dinner/
Love the pheasant sweater! Super cute for fall! Ordering it.
I love the pheasant cardigan that will mix and match with so many top colors. I agree that it looks great with the jeans. A cardigan to wear all thru the fall.
Love the cardigan. I will be wearing jeans for thanksgiving so always looking for something to dress up the look.
OMG! LOVE LOVE that cardigan and ordered it. More than I usually like to spend but I will for items that I really love. Thanks for sharing!
so sad that my size is sold out in the cardigan and the hoop earrings! I procrastinated on the earrings. My fault!
Love, love, love your blog! Keep it up!
Krista, the earrings are in stock through the link on today’s post. They are sold out on the Kendra Scott website.
Ilove the pheasant cardigan and think it’s perfect for Thanksgiving. Love all the items in this post. Wish more shies came in narrow width! Thank you, Tania!
Very cute and festive outfit. I love the nod to Thanksgiving without it being obviously “HOLIDAY”.
Love this sweater
Love the cardigan and suede pumps!
Love the sweater. I have the same pale skin and blond hair as you and find that beige and browns often make me washed out. I’d be inclined to try a blue top with this.
We have always had dinner in early to mid afternoon. Then maybe a snack of leftovers late at night.
On a holiday where the meal is the main event, I can’t imagine waiting till dinner time!
I enjoy your selections and today I loved the Thanksgiving choices…especially the sweater.
Love this outfit!
Talbots always has unique cardigans each season. I hadn’t seen that one yet. It’s beautiful!
You look great!
It’s a ‘nice’ cardigan. Have you ever styled an edgy – rock look. Over 50 and I still like to go to concerts. I’m just not sure how to rock a look without looking stupid🤪🤟
Love the cardigan!❤️
You always look so pretty…
I just saw that sweater yesterday. Lol! I wanted it but without the pheasants. Hummingbirds are cute but, no pheasants. I love the chunky heel shoe! I wanted the cognac but sold out in my size. I’m going to get the gold. They’ll be great to dress up any outfit. We definitely have the same taste! Love seeing your blog every day!
Love the blue grace/saved short sleeved tee at the beginning of the post! Where did you get that?
Am loving the brown/neutral tones. So nice for this time of the year.
Love the cardigan!💕 Perfect for fall and Thanksgiving!
Happy American Thanksgiving from this Canadian follower!
I’m SOOOOO glad you got your website fixed. I missed my Tania fix over the weekend! LOL
Beautiful outfit and it is perfect for Thanksgiving. You frequently style your outfits with nude wedges and have inspired me to purchase a pair for myself. They certainly elevate any look and I look forward to trying them out for myself.
I wouldn’t have thought to pair that cardi with a denim shirt, but that’s what I’d do now!
The brown with the cardigan is a perfect pairing! Love it!
I will be anxious to hear how your trial run goes as I’m wanting to try the bigger brunch for Christmas and then have our large meal late afternoon. Thanksgivings meal is always around noon. I would have to do flat shoes if I’m in the kitchen preparing the meal. Where did you get the brown t-shirt you are wearing? Love the casual outfit.
That sweater looks so good on you(better than on the website) I especially like the outfit paired with the ballet flats..I think the sweater would look good with brown corduroy pants and a chambray shirt too.
You are my blogger!
Wait…what was the secret???
That my daughter is coming to visit after almost 2 years!!!
Happy Thanksgiving! You will look beautiful no matter what you wear that day.
Cardigan is cute. Talbots often have whimsical patterns in their charming cardigans. They’re always practical too.
Perfect Thanksgiving outfit.
Love the jeans! I feel
Like boyfriend jeans sometimes make you look heavier than you actually are. I leave those to the young girls in crop tops. But we can all be fashionable and trendy in our own way/age.
Love these easy, yet put together options for Thanksgiving! Pheasant is an excellent turkey substitute..lol
Cute sweater! I grew up eating Thanksgiving late but my husband’s family eats in the early afternoon. Then they have leftovers for a late supper or snack.
Hi Tania! I Love the cardigan. I agree it really does look like Thanksgiving. I’m a flats girl. The outfit looks Great with the Ballet Flats. You always look great!! Hope you have a Wonderful Day!!🧡🍁🍂🌾
Once Fall hots, I tend to wear boots (or booties) every day-it is just a matter of which pair. Like you, I have many options to choose from, Although I do have flats, I never seem to “choose” them. Love the look today. Really cute sweater.
Love Chico’s jeans! With your cute sweater, you look ready for Thanksgiving.
The sweater is so pretty. Perfect fall outfit. So happy for you that your daughter will be visiting.
Love thar daily verse.
I think the colors in this outfit are perfect for fall and thanksgiving. You look very comfortable for cooking or heating. I love the preorder meals. You get to spend more time visiting with family. You look great in this.
I think the pheasant cardigan looks like Thanksgiving too! The men in our family always hunt at that time of year at my grandparents place. .That’s where we always went for Thanksgiving when I was growing up.
Love your posts! I like the outfits and it is so nice to see how to wear things! Thanks!
Love the pheasant sweater❤
Thank you for this post, and outfit idea. I have several of the button front cardigans, and had no idea how to style the outfit, without looking dated. Have a great week!
Great outfit for Thanksgiving!!
Thank you fot all your posts.
Love your blog. Been following you for a few years. Your confidence has been inspirational. Thank you!
Thank you for the cardigan idea, It is actually a good idea for that day because you can take it off if you get hot cooking, which I always do! As always, love your blog! You’re the best!
Tania, I love your style and recommendations! Your blog always leaves me feeling inspired and upbeat!
I love your Thanksgiving outfit! It’s perfect. Glad you will also be spending it with your daughter and grandkids this year.
Good morning, Tania! Love your daily blog, getting lots of fun fashion ideas to try…..although, I could call the blog “70 isn’t old” lol! Happy Thanksgiving! PS better wear a festive apron over your Pheasant cardigan on Turkey day!!!!
Thank you for sharing your style! It has been very helpful. Have a blessed day😊
Great sweater!
Been looking for tan suede chunky heel pumps!! Yeah, just ordered them. Cute sweater, very Thanksgivingish 🦃
Cute and very unique sweater. I’m glad your daughter will be sharing Thanksgiving with you.
Perfect Thanksgiving outfit, love it!!
