50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONIs it hump day already? Where has this week gone? It is flying by, and so has this summer. This weekend is Labor Day, the “official” end of summer.? I like fall and all it’s rich colors, and I LOVE Christmas, but I HATE cold. I freeze all the time, even yesterday I had the heat on under my desk at work. You can imagine how well I do in the winter.50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONIt will be goodbye to pedicures, I just can’t see spending the money for something no one will see. It will be goodbye to shorts, and sleeveless tops. I am getting depressed just typing this, I need to move on. On the bright side, I see that ankle booties are still going to be “in” this year, so that makes me happy. I bought a couple of little dresses over the weekend (you’ll see them later next month) and they looked adorable with ankle boots. 50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONI have my hair tucked behind my ears, and it changes the way I look. Joe liked it the day I wore it this way, but when I was showing him these pictures, he said it didn’t even look like me. Haha I just think I look really “toothy”, I never knew I grinned so big. Lol! Anyway, what do you think about this chiffon vest? I bought it with fall in mind. The darker colors kind of put me in a fall-ish mood, so I was thinking this would help me transition slowly into fall. I bought this at the outlet store in town, and it is by Susan Graver. It was supposed to have a liquid knit shirt that it was sold with, but I only ended up with the vest. Here are a few more vests that are more geared to the fall and winter.

The key necklace (Qunicy) is worn short in this look, but you can wear it long. And the long necklace (Jane) matches the key necklace perfectly because of the pearls and the chain. The bling “t” is not included with the long necklace, I bought that in Marietta, GA. It is by Monarch Inspirations, and some of their items are sold on Amazon. The dangle earrings I have one are fairly new, I don’t know if I have worn them on the blog before. They are called the Kasia, and they are made out of the same burnished gold material.50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONThe light blue pearl bracelet is a little hard to see. It is called the Mara, and it is made with these light blue pearls and dangling leaves. It has a matching necklace and earrings, which I have, but have never worn. Some ladies have reported some issues ordering from me, so if you have concern’s send me an email to fiftyisnotold@gmail.com.50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONMy dark denim ankle pants are by Karen Kane. They have plenty of stretch in the material, (aka spandex) without losing their shape. Don’t you hate it when you wear a pair of pants, you stand up and it looks like you have to big knots on your legs. Stirrup pants used to be the worst!!! I have on just a simple pair of navy Tommy Hilfiger T-Strap sandals. I like the simplicity of the sandals, sometimes simple is better.

Simple Sandals: Similar | Similar | Similar50 IS NOT OLD | CAN YOU DANCE THE CHARLESTONBecause the vest had streaks of dark, and the denim ankle pants were dark, I went with a light top. The vest has streaks of pink running through it, so I paired it with this blush pink top by Loft. I think a lighter blue colored top would have looked nice also. I think they sold this vest with a bright blue top, but that is a little colorful even for me. Haha

I have been looking at the forecast for this weekend in Panama City, Florida, and it is dismal. I think they should name the Tropical Storm that is moving through, Tania. What do you think??? I guess it is time to pack these shoes for the music festival.

Today is a very special day. Today is my Granny Meadow’s 103rd Birthday!!!

So, can you dance the Charleston, because my granny can! This video was taken when she was ONLY 97, AND after we had spent the entire day WALKING around the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. She might have been a little unsteady, but she was having a blast!

  2. Happy birthday to your sweet granny! “Fabulousness” runs in your family.

That tropical storm will hopefully move on by Saturday morning and not ruin your whole weekend.

I’ve lived on the Gulf Coast my whole life, even when my husband was transferred. I love summer and hot weather!! I’m with you…I need a heater most of the time.

  3. I’ve noticed you speak of buying things from the QVC outlet store. Where is this located?

    1. There are a couple outlet stores in town that buy overstock QVC merchandise. I live in southwestern part of Virginia.

Go Granny Meadows! You are adorable! I can see, Tania, that you come from some very good stock indeed.
