BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE
I will not be doing a fashion blog post today. I traveled to Tennessee and went straight to the funeral home. It was nice to see family and friends who came by to pay their respects to my Grandmother. My oldest son posted two stories about Granny on Facebook yesterday that I thought I would share with you.
1) She once killed a snake on her front porch by stepping on its head when she was 96 years old. At 97 she once again saw a snake but this time swept it off the porch. When asked why she didn’t kill it she replied, ‘I’m too old to be doing that!’ I guess 96 is where she draws the line!
2) When having a conversation in her late 90’s with my sister, Ashleigh, she asked, ‘Do you want to see a pic of me when I was younger?’ Ashleigh said, ‘Of course.’ fully expecting a pic of her when she was a baby or possibly a teenager. Granny (as everyone called her) pulled out a 5×7 framed picture that was taken just a year or so earlier. She was very proud of how ‘young’ she was in the pic!
Butterflies are free, fly high Granny.
